Welcome to our two of Kentucky Sports Radio present it by Stockton Mortgage.
Now here's Matt Jones, quarterback.
I remember two Kentucky Sports Radio twenty two eighty seven. Text machine is seven seven two seven seven four five two five four. We are here at ks Bar and grill. My guy goose back there, says Friday night. You remember Blackhawk? Yeah? Don't you remember black Hawk? Yeah?
The band?
The band. Yes, they're playing at Chanault Vineyards Friday night, Chanalt Vineyards. Where that's uh? Where is that Richmond, Kentucky? Richmond. Yes, and his uh good brother Goodwin Brothers are opening for him. So you gotta play. We gotta play some Blackhawk here in the second.
We can do that.
Yes, And I'm gonna give some tickets away. By the way, later in the show, I'm gonna give these tickets away. But I'm also gonna give tickets away, uh for the women's game tonight. I have some about six tickets have been given to me. There. Cool do. But before we get to all that, we are now joined by you, e KU football coach Walt Well, who has a big game coming this weekend. Walt, how are you. I'm doing great. Thanks for having me on. I always appreciate this about you. You make the trip to here, you don't that's that's that's the kind of coach I like to see.
Well, I appreciate y'all having a song because you don't have to and and for us to get the space and to go all over the state. It just represents Eku and Eku football.
So sorry, I always try to do this when UK has an off week, right, because you like to get the UK fans to make the trip. And who do you all play? This week?
We played Central Arkansol number sixteen team in the nation.
Uh.
You know, we had a great battle with him last year and lost on a walk off hell Mary, so it ought to be a really uh you know, of course we're not very happy about that.
Well, tell me about those walk off hill Mary's. My Bears team lost on one of those a couple of weeks ago. How do you defend those? What do you tell your play?
Well, that's where we that's where we had a mistake. Our one of our players didn't box out and so when it got tipped and tipped down, it just fell into the guy and he's in the end zone and it's a touchdown and there's really nothing you can do.
Now for hell Mary's, do you have every receiver basically everybody's got everybody's everybody's got a man.
You got three in the end zone to bat the ball down, not bat it up, because if it bats up, it gets tipped around and then as you can you know, you know how that goes, and so you bat it down as hard as you can and try to put it on the ground. And uh, when we did that, the guy was on the ground, but he was on unboxed out, nobody there on it, and it just went right and has to be the most frustrating. Well, what really happened is the first play of the drive, they didn't start the clock. Oh did you see you gave him a little marks and so uh, I was standing there with the guy like you cannot play the next play, and they were like, okay, I got you, coach, I got the ref, I got you, I got you, and the play started and he didn't say a word and could have been reviewable, should have been reviewable. But you know, we were in Arkansas and work didn't work out.
That way in Arkansas. We know that, right. You got to be very careful in not a great state right now.
Don't be driving around on your own, that's right.
So tell me about your season. I think what five and four is that? Right?
Five and four just had a great win last week, went down to Texas and played Tartleton State with Billy Gillespie. Billy Gillespie, as a matter of fact, he gave one of our guys a tour of the basketball arena, and uh, they were number seven in the country, and we were fortunate enough to come out, shut them out in the second half and come out with I think it was a fourteen to to seven victory or four I forget what.
So you got a team that's probably a little better than that record would suggest. Right.
Well, you know, our first two games were Misissippi State and Western Kentucky, which it's a different battle. And then and then we we went on the road to Utah into Texas again when Jabeline Christians ranked and we lost those two earlies, and then we got healthy and we're playing a little better football right now.
Uh. You we talked a lot on this show about nil and how it affects Kentucky. What's it like on the Eastern level, Like how do you do? You do you all have to navigate that as much?
Oh, yeah, we have to. Uh, you know, last year, our quarterback was offered a six figure upwards six figures to go to a big ten school and fight for the job and potentially be a backup or a starter. And we had to fight to keep him. And not that he wanted to break the bank at Eastern at all. He wanted to stay. But you know, when you're turning down that money's money, that's right. I mean, you can't blame him. And if you produce, and that's what's gonna happen. You know, our we couldn't keep our receiver from two years ago because Iowill State took him and he's probably gonna be a second round pick now, and so he came up. Let's kind of make you proud, though, Well, we're evaluating the right people. And uh, you know, because he his only offer was us, He comes to us, he plays for two years, freshman and sophomore again thousand yards almost a thousand yards, receiving ten to twelve touchdowns, and next thing you know, he's gone. And you know that's you. You can sit there and complain about it and do this. And you know, in the old roy Kid days who I worked for, you know, those guys would have stuck around because they couldn't transfer, and that's how they had all the NFL guys. Now now for us, you know, it's like, all right, we're gonna.
Do you have to look a division or a level below you to get replacements? Do you all do that? Do you have people on your staff that look for that. We've got people that you know, our coaches do it, but yes, we do it. And what what happens is, you know, you gotta look at division two levels. You gotta look at the current level you're on, and you gotta look at the ones above. You know, most guys that.
Are transformed from above or transformed for one reason, they didn't play. They didn't play, so you got to figure out are they good enough to play?
They have the body? How do you decide that?
Well, you get practice film. That's a good thing about the you know, they I just should probably shouldn't say like this, but they want to get rid.
Of them so sore.
They're gonna send you practice tape. They're gonna they're gonna send you their practice tape, and you gotta evaluae to practice tape, scrimmages whatever.
Uh.
And the same thing for us when when there's a kid that goes into portal. You know, I'm like, hey, make your tape, do all whatever you gotta do. We'll help you, you know, because we get to scholarship back and it.
You know, right now are those tough conversations to have.
That they were, you know when you did it, and there wasn't really a transfer portal, but now there's not because they you know, it's like I tell them at the beginning of the year, guys, he here's how it goes. Okay, if you're really good, you're probably gonna come in and tell me you're leaving. And I'm supposed to understand. Well, if you're really bad, I'm coming to you. I'm coming to you, and you got to understand it makes sense.
I mean it does Tee. I would think that. Let I used to say about schools in the MAC, but I think this would be equally as true for you all. In some ways, we hear all the major conference coaches complain. In some ways, I think it's even harder there because you got it going both ways. You got to you gotta recruit from under, might lose from over, and then be competitive in your thing. It's gotta be tough.
Well, it's hard to build a culture because because people are coming and going. Now, we've been fortunate most of the guys that have left us have gone on and done good things. And then the other ones that have to who thought they were going to go on and we knew they you know, we knew where they were. And so it's slowing down at our level because they're jumping in that portal thinking they're going to go up, and they go down. Okay, And so we give full scholarships. You know, it's like you got it.
I mean, my.
Scholarship's not the same as marks, but it's very you know, it covers every room board, twistion, and books, cost of attendance, and you know that's what they get. Now they got some other things they get to do too, you know, that makes it better. But it's a pretty good deal. So then when you jump in that portal and the D two comes after you, it's half scholarship, baby, and they're taking your pel grant and putting it towards that if you have a pel. So you know they're figuring that out, like, oh, hang on a second, you know. So and So went in. He was pretty decent here. He played a little bit and he's at you know, I don't want to say any schools, but he's at another school where they don't you know, they don't give you what we give you. You know, we give you food, you know, we traveled pretty good, we do all these things, you know, and they go there and they're like, yeah, So they're starting to tell our guys, hey, man, don't make that decision. Yeah, don't make this. And then the ones that you know do I mean, like, how.
Do you how do you build your culture? Then you said you talked about building the culture Stoops has talked about on the Kentucky level, how do we make a culture with guys coming in. What's the way you do it in today's world. It's the same way that you've always done it. In my opinion.
You have to develop relationships with each other, both players to players and coaches to players. And we have to dig in and understand that the relationship may break your heart because the kid may be a heck of a player and he's going to leave. You got to do it for the right reasons, not just the reason to try to get him to be a good player, the reasons to get to know the kid and help him out. And then try to make sure they make the right decisions. That's why I feel like Parker McKinney decided to stay last year and turn down all that money. It was because he trusted us. He felt like, you know, we got his best interest at heart, and he broke every record. You know, he's one of the greatest players to ever played it, and so you know, he he went through all that. Mike Smith Junior probably had the opportunity to leave again, but he had been in a second transfer. Mike Smiths's safety on our team, that's on the senior boat watch list, and you know, has a great chance to get drafted, having a great year. He could have probably left, you know, but he chose to stay because he knows. You know, we've had every scout come in at least three times, you know, team I mean come in and they've come three different times and sent personnel people to.
Look at him.
And he knows that I'm gonna tell him as opposed to somebody else.
Tell me about your team. Kentucky fans, what times of game? Says? The game is two o'clock. We got seven dollars tickets, seven dollar tickets. This is I've been a couple times over the years during the bye week. You guys, you always try to get Kentucky fans we're not gonna be playing. Hey, we haven't been playing well. So two o'clock against Central Arkansas, what will they see from your team?
Well, let's see two teams going at it that I think is gonna be another fifteen round fight. And that's what we talk about. I mean, it's it's two good football teams that you know, have a in in our conference, have developed a rivalry. We've played five times since I've been there, and we're three and two on them. You know, Like I said, they won last year on a go ahead hill Mary walk off game game winner. So they've got senderk Palell, who's a great running back. They've got uh David Walker who's gonna, you know, be the senior bow invitee, and and all this. At defense end, we've got Mike Smith Junior, who may be a senior bow inviting, Peyton Collins who's a great offensive tackle, and then Josh Carter, whose brother Michael Carter plays for the Cardinals, is really really a good running back for us. And we'll probably end up, you know, playing somewhere. So they're gonna see NFL type talent. Great football game should be a close game. I would assume it'd go down to the wire, you know, that's what we're preparing for. And uh in two teams that like to hit and get after each other's.
But sounds exciting. And you brought me some e k U roy kid makers mart. That's right, that's that got you.
That's that's what we have for our suits for seniors. Our big party we do in spring to help our seniors with a job fair and they.
All get cool. So what is that? What is that? We mean? You help your seniors to find a job as well.
We have a job fair in the morning and so there's probably thirty to forty different corporations there and it's a reverse job fair. So they walk up to them and they have their either resumes or their their iPads with you know. You know now nowadays these kids are creative and they got all this stuff to tell them what they've done and who they are. And so we do that in the morning. Then at night, you know, of course the team doesn't come, but we have all our boosters, donors, former players are coming back. Because it's night before the spring game. We have a big cigar bourbon and cigar party and auction and to raise money to give them custom fit suits from cuff to collar there in Richmond, and they come over and custom fit them. They're two shirts, a tie, a suit, and a pair ofs. I just don't do shoes because you know, everybody's different. I wear boots, they wear Jordan's you know.
Speak of shoes. I notice he's on the ones.
I get the book one Book one on your shoes. Thanks to Al Halling for sending them to me.
With the book ones. All right, well listen a good Tuesday or scee me Saturday. Uh two o'clock Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky. Uh go support the Colonel's Well, it's always great to see you. Glad your hell's good. Thank you very much, and uh, thank you very much and thanks for the bourbon. Yes, sure, I appreciate you all having me on. Of course we uh where do you where? People get the tickets?
They get them at from what ray White and then go online at eku sports dot com go to tickets. It's that it's real simple. Go to tickets and they'll get them right there.
E Ku sports dot com. We will take a break at be right Back's Kentucky Sports Radio. Goodbye says it all. Welcome back, little Blackhawk playing. Uh, it's Friday night in Richmond, Big weekend in Richmond. You go see black Hawk, the Good One Brothers Friday night. Then you can go see uh go see e Ku.
On Saturday, Saturday at two o'clock.
Richmond's the place to be. It is like back in the days when, uh, what were those bars there? What were they called?
Man, the brass monkey, Richmond Knights.
You had to lace them up? Yeah? What were they? Where were they called? We've talked about this. What were some of the name the bull, the pony, the donkey, the Come on, I'd say you all know this seventh seven two seven seven four five two five four. Give me some names of Richmond bars back in the day. I don't mean the ones now. I mean when Richmond. What family dog that was one of them. Yes, that sounds like a man that's been to the family dog back there, he knew family dog. That's right.
Thursday night was the night to go to Richmond.
Oh, Richmond was like it was absolutely Uh, it was crazy in Richmond back in the day. Did they is it still like that? Did they still do? They still get down in Richmond like they used to on Thursday nights.
Once every month or two. My group, we'd look at each other and be like, Richmond Knight.
Oh yeah, No, it's probably weird for people to think about now, but there was a time where people in Lexington would go to Richmond, yes, because it was so much fun on.
Thursday Thursday nights. It was packed.
Maybe on Wednesdays we went and they had fifty whiskey night. Maybe it was whiskey Wednesday for fifty cents. I mean, what are we doing?
I have a great story about going on Thursday nights. I think I've told you before when I was a senior in high school.
But oh yes, but yes, high school.
That's one of my that's a story. Maybe that's a good story, but that's that's one of the That was one of the more humbling experiences of all time. But yes, the the Richmond bars on Thursday one. There you go. Well, I'm sure, Patty Wagon, that's right. Gosh, I forgot all these and I don't think any of them are there anymore.
All the city cleaned it all up.
The dog O'Reilly's Sutter's Sutters chair, remember tas Well Sutters. Because they would call it. They would call it. They would call it. They shouldn't call it that they should call it, but that's what they would call it.
Some of those places weren't the best at checking id's back in the day.
I think that's why it was very popular. A lot of fights too, yeah, all the time. True, that's where Drew Barker got in a fight. That's a that our whole football team got into it with the Eastern team. Yep, didn't they? That's right. That was Stoop's early like first or second year Drew Barker and the kid from Cincinnati. What was his name? The wide receiver that that we that caught the winning touchdown against Eastern? What was his name? I want to say Brown, Dorian Baker? That was it, Dorian Baker.
The thing about Richmond is they knew when the UK people were coming to town and you had a target on your back with the with the e K. You guys, that's a lot of fights.
One story. This is not a funnier a happy story, but it is something I couldn't believe happened Livingston, Kentuck. Okay, that's not very far from me, right, that's what forty minutes. Maybe that's what county is Livingston.
I'm not sure what is here.
Yeah, they got very quiet. I feel like somebody should know Livingston anyway, Livingston, the City of Livingston has not paid their water bill and it's been turned off for the entire city.
Of living The city lost their water.
The city has lost their water. Rock Castle County, rocke Castle County. According to this story I read, the city of Livingston had their water turned off. Now, the current mayor of Livingston says it's the past mayor didn't pay for it and now they're trying to pay for it. But there's so much in debt on the water that they have. They owe too much. Now, this is what I read in the article on wlax's how much they owe? How much do you think Livingston could owe to the water company that would lead to the water being turned off in the city.
Like, it's gotta be a big amount.
So what do you think, because I just want to see what you think the amount would be?
Five hundred thousand?
Okay, what do you think? I was gonna go much lower?
I will say twenty.
Thousand, Okay, what about you Shannon one hundred thousand.
Okay, Shannon's the closest. Eighty nine thousand dollars. They owe eighty nine thousand dollars. So this is my question. And I know it's a small town, but they don't have eighty nine thousand dollars. They got eighty nine thousand and debt. Now the whole city, they either have turned the water off or in some places they're saying make sure you boil it because it's not being processed or whatever. Isn't that don't you find that crazy? And it also feels like something where the state like should come in and go, all right, well, we'll pay the eighty os. Livingston's like, like, I mean, you're gonna have you go. You're gonna have to pay us back. Livingston. But if it feels like I just didn't realize you could just turn the water off on an entire city.
No, I mean, you know what happens to an individual, but for a whole city. You think maybe after the first bill they missed in the second Billy, maybe they would have come to them then that hey.
You think they were just like, I bet they'll let us go. You got auto pay that set up that auto pay. Yeah, you think Livingston needs toutely.
And they didn't just get their water and shut off. There had to have been several warnings, but you don't just shut off the water.
You don't think they knocked on the door of the city hall and they're like, look, this is ther last time. I think there was several knocks.
Drew's right, you missed, you'd be late one day on a bill, you got an email, you got something in the mail or calling you.
Not the city of Livingston still owes quite so. Anyway. I hope the folks in Livingston, I hope you get your water. Assume we've done shows there before. Hopefully it gets back. What's next, Chris, Chris, go ahead, Chris hey Man.
Wasn't it back in the day in Richmond that they promoted themselves as a place if you're eighteen years old you could come in and socialized.
I think that you weren't allowed, in theory to drink, although I don't think it was enforced, but you could get in right uh. And that was part of why it was kind of like when you were in college. If you weren't able to get in, everybody went.
There exactly exactly Yeah, it was always crazy bombs Bob.
That's another one, t Bob.
Hey, Matt. One other thing I was going to tell you. On the Food Network, there's a show called Worst Cooks in America. You might want to watch it just for the novelty to know that there's other people like yourself that you know are a novices in the kitchen. But it's really a fun.
Yeah, because I haven't done it, maybe i'll be good. Like I feel like worst sort of implies that you've done it before.
A savant, right, Yeah, so you'll step in there. Step It'll be like you could then work at the French laundry, you know.
All right, Well, I appreciate it. I think I'll be good at it.
I mean I did paprika like Grandma Paprika followed just follow instructions of a recipe and you can do it.
Well. I don't know a lot of I don't know a lot of uh, you know a lot of spices, but the ones I do, like a regano.
What kind of spices you got in your house right now?
Well, I don't have a lot, but like bolt and pepper. But you can go and buy like a wooden shelf and it's got.
All of them, right, Lacy Susan, Yeah, I get it. One that spins no, no.
No, I mean my mom had one that hung on her wall. Yes, and it had like all of the things. I feel like I could go get that and then I would have all the spice.
I keep minding a drawer. Just pull it out and they're all right there, labels up or I can see them.
We'll get you set up. Yeah.
I have a Eastern Bar submission that I don't don't remember. It's not a part of but someone says happened they had a five dollars all you can drink until someone went to the bathroom and.
Then yeah, well that'll get you killed. Yeah like that. That's that was a special they had. It was five dollars until somebody went to the bathroom. Yeah, but you that's not a good thing. There's a certain company that got in a lot of trouble for that many years ago. I won't go into the details, but they say all you can drink anymore. Yeah, you can't do that either, like like we have that. We have lots of rules, like I've talked about when I just say I'm going to buy a beer, so like if I offer, because I was thinking about doing this during the Bengals game tonight, but then I realized I gotta do ESPN. But I was gonna do a if you come, I'll buy you a beer. What I have to do is is like I can't just give it to you, like I have to pay whatever the base amount is, so I don't know, you have to pay at least what you pay for it from the things. So like those kind of rules are now I can say because I'm an owner, Mario is not an owner, So I can say Mario's buying you a beer, and then I can give Mario the money. But like you can't, the owner can't can't do that.
So there's ways around it. If you're creative.
Well, I don't know if they want you to do the ways around it, but there's there. The amount of rules are insane for that stuff. What's next thirty seconds? Then don't worry about it. We'll take a break A five twenty two eighty seven. We are here at Chaos Bar and Grill. Remember the Bengals Kentucky's women play at six o'clock tonight? Yes, uh eight five nine twenty two eighty seven. I have uh some good tickets to give away, including two with your feet on the floor.
Those are big time.
That's exactly right. So we will take a break and be right back. This is Kentucky Sports Radio. T J Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ.
He'll make them change Now more Kentucky Sports Radio present by Stunton Mortgage.
Here's j every Once in.
Wow, who is this this black Hawk?
All?
This black Hawk again?
I really like this song, Shannon, Yeah, this is good. It breaks up with this heat his girl breakup like they've tried to move on. But then if you ask her if she ever still thinks about him, she still stus.
Every Once Again songs about a break up. The other one was good.
They broke up a lot and uh do you remember the video for Goodbye Says It All?
Shannon, Yeah, I just watched it.
Yeah, there's like they're on a boat and she's like breaking it. She wrote it on lipstick, right off the things she wrote. Goodbye Says It All, no long explanation, no reconciliation, nineties country man like, it's like you need to go to the sheep in it. Yeah, it's uh, it's good stuff. What person writes on the text machine Matt. On Wednesdays at O'Reilly's in Richmond, they would have whoop Ass Wednesdays. They would set up a boxing ring in the middle of the dance floor. You could pay five dollars and fight someone. Oh they did that at Two Keys here.
It was awesome.
I got kicked out.
I can't believe that was ever illegal.
I can't ever.
And I don't doubt that for a second in downtown, and they did do that in two Keys.
Two Keys got a little out of hand because some like actual boxers would show up, beat up drunk college Yeah, it was fun. It was fun when it was drunk college kid versus drunk college kid. And the people would show up more like that dude looks like he should be like on HBO fighting and they've.
H Vander Holyfield shows up and it's.
They were giving out money prizes. So these boxers would show up.
And yes, we I fact, we have some folks here who reminded me of the manual Baptist church preacher. Uh mentioned me and his sermon he did. Yes, somebody sent me a clip he talked about how I was talking about how it's hard to get people to come to two events, and so you have to do kind of special things.
Uh.
And I thought it was very nice. You should tell him, by the way that thank you. He invited me for Christmas and that was very very nice of him. I appreciated that. So somebody sent me the video on Sunday that I was in a sermon.
I'm glad he chose that to talk about us on.
A note pass Wednesday.
Wednesday or the phallic tongue.
Okay, that's fine. Twenty sent Where are we tomorrow for our remote Corman Kitchen in Bath on Floyd Drive off Winchester Row. So Christmas show. Yeah, so this is kind of a neat show if you've never been Corman Kitchen in Bath. That's the place where they sell all the it's like the best Christmas decoration Corman Marketplace. So the Corman Marketplace they have like trees and ornaments and missiletoe and they have all that.
It'll get you in the Christmas spirit definitely.
But you can also buy all of your like decorations and all that stuff. So you come tomorrow. I'm gonna give really good seats to uk Buck nail Away for for anybody that's there. But it's also a very neat like. It's one of those things in Lexington that I forget exists until we do it every year and it reminds me of wow, this is the best place to buy Christmas decoration. So Corman uh Marketplace, Marketplace Kitchen and Bath which is in the Corman Kitchen and Bath. If you've never been there, I'm serious. It's like a really unique cool thing in Lexington.
The first twenty four people, I want to say, probably because Christmas twenty four I think that's the okay KSR ornament and I remember last year they were long gone before we even got there because they were cool.
The KSR ornaments are very cool. So twenty first twenty four people, so get there early to get a KSR ornament. They are actually very very cool. All right, So did you see what Repperina is doing?
What are they doing?
Reperina is creating an Amazon walkout store. Yeah, so you can go get your food and then just walk out, but it'll charge you.
Do you swipe your card and some before you walk I've.
Been into an Amazon walkout store and it was weird. You walk in, you put your card in, and then it somehow knows exactly what you took out of hell, how does it work? Lasers? But like, you can just walk out and then it'll show up on your card. And I've done it two or three times and they got it right. They got the exact same things I took.
It's their little microchip and everything in that.
Store it's lasers and it's it's it's lasers. Wow and musk and China and they all get together and then the next thing you know, you walk out and it knows exactly what you got.
I've done it before. It feels like you're shoplifting. It feels wrong.
Yeah, you look around and you're like, is someone gonna arrest me? What's happening? But you But they're gonna have that at Reparena now. They hope to make the concession line shorter. Uh, they will have the Amazon walkout store.
I it fascinates me. I don't know how it works.
You know, you if you put your card in house, it's not lasers, So how do they know? I pick up a Snickers and a Diet Coke and walk out through.
I don't know how many times you have to say it, lasers, lasers, lasers.
The laser shoots and it says, Ryan took a diet coke.
Remember in Vegas your eight dollars diet coke when you lifted it up. Yes see, it's the sase refrigerators can figure it.
It's the same principle as the I have no idea where'm talking about, but it's the same principle as the refrigerators at the hotel. It just knows if you've taken the.
One at the hotel doesn't know who took it necessarily, like you know, it could be your room.
But if I go on.
But these are danced lasers, shep Now they know who took it as well. But you do have to insert your credit card when you walk in in order for you to charge.
I've seen these in like airports.
Well, you're gonna see it starting Saturday.
Starting Saturday, the Buck.
They didn't have it for the first game, but they're gonna have it for the Buck Nail game. Uh it starts then. And then one more piece of news, I want to pour one out. Ray Goon, the breakdancer from Australia. She's retiring from competitive breakdancing.
Sad day.
I actually do think it's sad. I read her interview. She's basically like, this was the most fun thing in my life, and now everybody's like acted like I'm the worst person just for being a bad dancer. And uh, I just her article said she's still gonna break dance like at her house officially retiring. No, that's what she said. She said, I'm still gonna break dance at my house and at parties, which I want to go to those parties. But she's not gonna do it competitively anymore.
I think it's sad. You know, she had this one moment and she was gonna live in and enjoy it no matter what. And now people, then ladies can't stop making fun of her.
But I want to dance. She all she wanted to do, Shannon was dance. And like she said, I don't even mind the making fun. It's the people who act like I was some kind of disgrace for doing it. It's what she didn't imagine.
You're such bad, Dan, You're such a bad dancer that they cancel the entire.
Shyly ends because you're so bad.
No one's ever done that before.
It's an amazing thing.
We're shutting it down.
Are so awful at this that we will never let it back in the Olympics.
I mean, there's there's nothing that's been like that, Like someone's not so bad at golf, Like we're shutting down the PGA tour.
We just can't have this.
It's it's really sad. I mean, it's a wonder she has not become a celebrity.
What she had, Like she has been offered like to be on reality these shows and stuff, but she's like, I want I'm a professor. I'm not mister spectacular. So she's not. But she did an interview in Australia. She'd been she'd been like bart Man, she had disappeared really and this was her her first like public.
Hen she would be celebrated and be a celebrity.
And well I saw, just like two weeks ago she did a challenge where she was paying like ten thousand for anyone that could break dance better than her. So I guess she tried one last run and now it was just too much.
Wow.
Well, I like the idea though, you could go to a party and she'll just dance and she'll be fine. Man. I just I mean, I just want everybody to take a step back and think about being that woman, all right, you put on that hideous green suit and you decide to go out there and break dance, and you're like you think you've got it. You're like, oh, here we go, I'm doing the robot and then you like roll on the ground and you get off, and then you get on your phone and you're like, oh no.
Like she thought people was actually gonna like that when she did the Spring.
She thought anyone would ever notice. I think she probably thought she would compete, lose, move on with her lot.
Huh.
And then all of a sudden, you're everywhere, and then like I saw that in Europe, it was the most popular Halloween costume this year, the most popular. There's the company that makes the break dancing uniform sold out like ten times in Australia of people buying it. You, I just you can't help but feel bad for her a little bit, can you?
I knew I feel bad for a little bit, you know, like you, Like I said, she just wanted to have her moment, have some fun.
And she thought she was going to represent her country and maybe even be a hero.
And instead, like she is the epitome of U can't dance.
She's a very powerful person.
I mean one person, single hand shutting it all down. Glenn, Pennsylvania, Glenn in Pennsylvania, how are you.
Hey?
Doing good?
Hey?
With the NBA and the NFL, well all being based a lot on potential. I see this cooking thing that you're into as a really good potential. If you're going to the grocery store shopping, the potential missus Matt Jones could show up. I've had some single guy friends tell me a grocery store is a really good place to meet some women.
So they said, people say that, but like, what are you gonna Are you gonna meet a woman in a groceries? Just go up and be like, look at that? How about that cereal?
Like their cart?
See w me to just run in and go to a grocer and just bump into a woman and be like wow.
I'm sorry, No, you're right.
People do say that, sir Glenn. I mean, I I appreciate the call. People say that all the time.
Gets right, like just bumpa carback, Hey, you want to come over.
While maybe it's a lot, maybe it's a lot more of a of a romantic place than what I remember when I did go.
I'm going to the grocery straight from here. Do you want to go ah wingman for it. I'll even bump if you want, I'll initiate that.

I don't, actually I think I remember that. I'm not strong enough to say no. It is about like there's this woman that timseem.

Yeah, I mean it's a lot of dudes hoping that somebody will be there, and like, you know, I don't want to be a part of that. Yeah.

I'm coming next week, probably to the bar or something that I wanted to see if you wanted anything besides the new flavor gummy not gummy, but.
The skindles are great. The gummies are great, and the the thin mince. Those three things were the best.
Okay, well, I'm looking for the new flavors for you. For the nerd gummy, well, thank you.
They were awesome. I appreciate appreciate the call, and I eat them. I don't eat a lot of them because again, it's not great for you to do that, but I space them out, and it's really Is.
It healthier to eat them? Drees fried then fried? Drink? Freeze, dried then regular? Is it better for you?
Okay? There, that statement is so ridiculous on two point. First of all, drees fried? Yeah, what kind of fried is dread?
It's really complicated, you know exactly?
Why would it be better for you? I don't know. That's why.
That's just freeze drink.
Sugar kills the calories. I doubt it. I don't. I don't know. Maybe there's some scientific The good part is it takes up more space, so you don't eat as much of it. Much bigger, Yeah, they're much bigger, so it expands, so you just tend to not eat as much of it. So that's that party.
That's the hook.
I would love some drees fried candy. Who's next? Shit? Eric?
Eric?
Go ahead? Eric?
Hey, Matt Jones and the crew, how are you all?
Good?
Awesome?
Matt?
I wanted to volunteer my services. I'm a chef by trade, although now I currently live in Austin, Texas, but I can. I can do cooking lessons on the computer with you and would be happy to do so.
Starting it's very nice of you. It's very nice of you. Why don't if you will send your email address Matt dot Jones at Kentucky Sports Radio with a little message and we'll see what we can do. I prefer to do it in person, but at the same time time that might be my best option. So send me an email. It's very nice of you.
Fantastic, we'll do Matt dot Jones.
At Kentucky Sports Radio dot com.
Right, all right, you got it, awesome, Thanks, guys, have a great one.
So let me ask you, do you think that, uh, do you think I'm gonna end up doing this?
Or do you think no?
Why? Why was that such a quick note? Because we know you, we know you.
You're not gonna stay off your phone for a year either.
Okay that I understand why you think that, But why do you think I'm not gonna learn to cook? First of all, you said I couldn't stay off my phone in Europe, and I did, yes, for two months. I didn't send one tweet? Did I.
Not too public? You send us some messages you can't tweet private?
I mean I texted you, but even I didn't text you that much.
No, you didn't know you didn't, so I can do. But but I want you to follow through this. I really do. Yes, it would be good for you to learn how to do some cooking on your own.
So why don't you think I can do it? None of you believe in me. I want to believe me. Look send to see. That's why we have Mario does know me. Mario. Mario knows me better than you will. Mario gets you. Mario, you know what I needed. Somebody who gets You're right.
He said, with patience. You know there's a lot of this. There's some waiting that's involved in cooking.
I'm good with it. I'm the waiting is not the hardest part when it comes to cooking. I'll be able to do it, all right. So here's what I want you to do. I have three pairs of tickets for the UK Women's game tonight that's at six o'clock. If you are interested, and you will use them. And I have one request. Okay, so the first three people, but I want you to take your daughter or even your son if you had a young kid, to go to the game. And four of these seats are on the floor a feet on the floor.
That's awesome.
So they're donated by season ticket holders. So as soon as the show's over, first three groups, we call Don Franklin Auto dot com.
