It is Kentucky Sports Radio. It is all right.
So if you want to call the show to talk, five O two five.
Seven one seventy nine hundred.
So we're using a different number today, five O two five seven one seventy nine hundred. Give us a shout. Love to hear from you. Five O two seventy nine hundred. We're at Don Franklin Somerset Chevy. Our family dealership has been serving Kentucky for fifty six years. Over thirty rooftops, thirty buildings. We got Buick, Cadillac, Chevy, GMC. It's all here in today, free Penn station if you come out here to eat, and of course I'm gonna give these blue white tickets away. It is time for us to make our KSR parlay picks from DraftKings. You can pick anybody money line. We've won two of three in the last two weeks. We are absolutely hot, Shannon. I'll let you go first. You say you always get your stolen.
Go for it, Okay.
I like this one number nineteen Missouri at home. They are a four favorite over Auburn. I felt like that's easy money.
You're taking Missouri.
Yes, boy, you wouldn't like me thinking Auburn's got a shot, but they're at home, so you're gonna like take Missouri.
I'm okay with that. I'll take us with Missouri, Drew, what do you got first? I'll say I had to make a Draft Kings video yesterday. Yeah, picking the video Missouri to cover four. So I'm with you as well. I love this one so much. I tried to make the game happen last week. Miami Louisville. I'm going with Miami. They're on the road at Louisville. But going on the road at Louisville is just like going into an empty building. I even saw Louisville's a d yesterday, said guys, I understand noon games on a Saturday or heart.
No, they're not.
It's a Saturday. That's when people can get to a noon game on a Saturday. But he was making excuses for their bad turnout. Miami's undefeated, They're a title contender. They got to win this game. I say they went on the road to Louisville.
All right, So we got Miami, we got Missouri. What about you?
Oklahoma at home over South Carolina. Oklahoma the one and a half point favor I'm going to Oklahoma.
Isn't that game Oklahoma at South Carolina though it's out of their home.
Yeah, okay, I thought I actually liked that one.
You didn't think we'd like that.
I don't think you'd like that one.
Missouri, Oklahoma, Miami.
You know, my favorite pick is Nebraska at Indiana because they're getting six and a half. But I don't want to pick a six and a half point underdog as my money line pick. But if you were betting just straight up against the spread, I like Nebraska lot. I'm gonna take LSU as a two and a half point favorite at Arkansas. I think LSU goes on the road and knocks out the hall. So we got LSU, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Miami. We'll send that. Will you send that to them? We'll send that off and get the parla.
I feel good about it. We're on a heater right now, so let's keep it going.
We are.
LSU was good to us last week too, so they were good at that. Yeah. I want to just note something.
You guys probably in Somerset don't sort of follow it as closely as it's been followed in Lexington, but I do. I don't want to do this but I have to do this because three of the four of us have been have been employed by this group.
But I gotta call out LAX eighteen.
News for what they did yesterday because I I'm sure it wasn't intentional, but I want to use it as an example of how words matter. So some of you may know there was a UK student who was caught on video about a year ago using racial slurs on a fellow student and and I think, I think like she hit her or something like that. I don't remember the specifics of it. Well, she was arrested and she was charged with the number of crimes, but then she pled guilty and when she was given a one year sentence, which she will probably not end up serving a year, but she was given a one year sentence as part of a plea. Now why does this matter?
She was actually.
Sentenced for assault and assaulting a police officer because apparently when the police came something happened.
That part drew I don't believe is on video, right, the part.
With them seeing this video, I don't rember that there's a video with the woman that she said the racial slurs too. That's a student, but apparently she's alleged to have assaulted the officer, but I don't think that was on video. Regardless, she pled guilty and received one hundred hours community service and a year for the assaults. Now, this is why I have to call out Lax eighteen News. I think it's really important in today's contentious society that the words you use are correct. Here was the Lax eighteen headline which they put up twenty hours ago and is still up right now, which I think is important.
They have not corrected it.
They wrote former UK student Sophia Rosing was sentenced on Wednesday to one year in prison and one hundred hours of community service for racial slurs against student. Notice they don't say say the assault, They say for the racial slurs.
Now what does that do?
Well, First of all, it gets people riled up because if they don't know the story, they go, wait a minute, She's in jail for a year for a racial slur. That doesn't seem right. What about the First Amendment? That's what everybody says. And by the way, racial slurs are awful. You shouldn't do them. If you do, you're a bad person. Well maybe you're acting badly, but you can't go to prison for that. Okay, So l e x eighteen now gets all of these people angry, thinking people are being sentenced for the words they say, and they leave out the fact that she assaulted the girl and assaulted a police office. They just leave that out. Now, if you click on the story, you see it, but they don't put it in the headline. And so of course it gets a ton of engagement. It goes all over the country. People in Kentucky are sentencing people to prison.
For the words they say.
But that's not true, Drew, It's not true, and they have yet to change it. And you know, I worked at l EX eighteen for eight for three and a half years. Ryan worked for him for fifteen. How long's you worked twelve years?
Twelve years?
Good people like a lot of people I worked with aren't even there anymore. But you can't when you're like, we're down to just a couple of media agencies in Kentucky and they're one of the biggest. You can't make that mistake. It's not It leads to people being angry, and they're getting angry over something that is not even true. And it really annoyed me, Drew, because it went national yesterday and.
They know it's wrong.
L e x eighteam knows they got that headline wrong, and they're leaving it up and that makes me mad.
Yeah, this is twenty twenty four.
On the Internet. People will see a sentence accepted as fact. I'd say half the people probably didn't even open that. It clicks to the store ya, And then of course there's outrage whatever it is. And when you're sitting there because we do it, not as in a serious matter, but titling a KSR post, people are gonna see that one sentence that you've attached the league too and it needs to be accurate and all that, and I mean that's just not even remotely true.
And most people aren't even going in to get the details.
And then there's just outrage and it's spiraling and getting worse and worse, when it could have just been a better headline.
I don't know the girl. She clearly made a mistake. I don't know what kind of person she is. Shouldn't have done it. The slurs were awful. She should have been like people should have been angry about it. But she went to First of all, she's not even going to prison. It's a misdemeanor's going to jail. That's not the same thing. They said prison. It's actually jail. But more importantly, she's not going to jail for the words she said, which is what lax eighteen said and ran. You've worked in news, you know it's important you get it correct.
Everything she did was wrong and bad. But the lead is attacking the police officer. That needs to be the lead, and the girl and the girl the assault. That's the lead.
So okay, Bob is at your show. Go ahead.
It makes me wonder why they haven't changed you Are they just trying to continue to get the clicks, because that makes no sense.
Well, now they're just being stubborn. Yeah, because like I called him out and then a lot of other people did too. Now they're just being stubborn. So I just wanted to note that on the radio. You gotta fix that, lax eighteen. That's a terrible look. I'm sure it was just somebody who made a mistake, but every moment it's up there, it looks more and more intentional when they do it. Five two, five nine hundred.
Who's up? First job, Chris, Chris, go ahead, Chris, Hey.
Matt, Once again, I just want to tell you guys, I enjoy your show. But I had the fortunate luck of getting really good tickets behind the bench this weekend, and I was wondering, I don't even know if you can bring signs or make signs, but if you can, I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions.
Oh, you know, I'm signs are one of those things you gotta be clever, like kind of on your own. I will say this, are you talking about for the Florida game or the Blue White game?
I'm sorry for the Florida game. Yes, I'm not very clever for that game.
Okay, so I gotta make fun of the Gators. Yeah, I don't know. Are you like in a place where you'll be on television?
Well, I'm three rows from the sideline are from the Kentucky bench, So I mean that's pretty good.
Right, I don't know. We'll think about it. I appreciate the call. I do like the I don't know you can.
Can you bring signs into games? Yeah?
I mean they'll look at it, make sure it doesn't say something crazy. I would say, be careful to get too cocky.
Or he'll get confiscated. If you're a Kentucky fan anti Florida. They're going to confiscate that sign pretty quick.
Not just that, just remember we just lost to Vandy, so I wouldn't go in there and just you know, throwing fists at everyone with my son.
I don't know what could you make fun of Florida right now? I mean, Napier won't be that much longer.
You could say something about people in their basement in central Florida.
It's kind of a sun. Don't make those jokes.
There's been too much happened there and for with you, because of what Florida has had the last couple I just I just kind of let it go. Probably we'll get we'll beat them, and we'll get them next year when they're in Atlanta, Land or in Lexington. Who's up next, Brian, Brian?
Go ahead, Brian, okay. I wanted to get your take on something I observed in the Vandy game, and it happened in another game earlier this year. And that is when the Vanderbilt quarterback fumbled and then he recovered and Stoops argued about it for about twenty seconds. Then he calls the time out for sixty seconds. Meanwhile, their quarterback hobbled off, went to the injury tent, and I'm just thinking, hey, why don't we You know, if the quarterback on the field rule that you know, says, hey, you know, Vandy's got the ball. But I'm thinking, hey, if that quarter is a backup quarterback, he's not going to be an eighty percent completion guy. Whoever comes up the backup quarterback, I'm thinking we could get a stop and get the ball back quickly.
I agree with you, I had that same thought.
He did a challenge that had virtually no chance of working. If you remember, I mean that was you know, it was a big play had they fumbled it, which is why he challenged it.
But like the replay pretty much showed they weren't going to overturn it.
They challenge it anyway, and it actually gave Pavia Drew a chance to get back healthy and get back in.
Though I hated that in real time, you know, they even said they weren't reviewed. It seemed like the reps were pretty sure of it not being a fumble right away, And like the caller said, I guess Pabi had to sit out one play, and when Stoops called the time out, I was asking people to rule like does Paby and now get to come back in Did we just mess that up? They were just giving him way too much time to get healthy. We have a backup that's been sitting on his hands.
There will be whenever the Mark Stoops era ends, like in the sort of I don't like that, I don't want to use the word of bituary. But in the Shannon the final re like legacy, like like when we talked about Don Cayl Perry's legacy. He has a legacy of national title, four final fours in five years, you know, lots of positivity, right NBA players, etc. And then there's the legacy of how it ended. When Mark Stoop's legacy ends here, we'll say maybe the greatest coach here since Bear Bryant built the program from the ashes and made it a solid competitive SEC program. But I will be writing in there maybe the worst coach with clock management I've ever seen in my life. I mean, honestly, I'm not sure I know of a coach who does it worse when it comes to clock management, and just in game. I'm not strategic decisions. I actually think he's pretty good at that, but just management of a game decisions. It's just like nobody there thinks about it from an analytical way.
They just don't as good as he is at other aspects of coaching. These are the same complaints that we have had going back what seven, eight, nine years ago. We were complaining about him then and now here we are still talking about the same mistakes over and over, week after week.
It's nothing wrong with having a weakness. Everybody has a weakness. What bothers me is he doesn't bring in anybody to fix stride his weakness because it's clear that's not what he's good at. But they just don't ever get better at it.
No, and then went after he had a couple of miss half this season, he said he was gonna go back to just with his gut. I'm gonna go with my gut.
But the gut is the no clean out the gut, get it, get a colon cleans, get that gut out of there, healthy gut, and let's do something else, Drew because the gut is not working.
Yeah, that was I guess, Georgia. I didn't love that when he was like, well, I wanted to do this, and the people around me talked me into this, and my gut thought that. It's like, man, you should have a plan in a philosophy.
And I didn't like that. He threw the people around him either, like, well, I was gonna, I was gonna do the right thing, and then the people around me told me no, Like, dude, you make the.
Decision right, like it's yours.
Don't be saying the people around you said something, it's your decision.
I did, like he bounced back after it an old miss, he said after they went forward on fourth down. We planned all week to be aggressive, We planned to go for it on fourth down. There was no decision making in the moment when we landed in Oxford. We knew those decisions. That was different than the week before. He's like, all the people around me are saying this.
And it was his old miss.
Call was great, but it also showcases how much his reputation is at being bad at it. That Lane Kiffin was like, can you believe he went for it? It was almost like he did the right thing. Shocking. You know, you gotta be better at Hey, if you're looking for new furniture, appliances or beds.
How about p rats?
How about p rats?
How about it to locally own and operate appliant store. How long's p rats.
Been in Uh, just go to the website.
I'll tell you a five years the best appliance retailer voted in the Bluegrass for six years in a row.
Go to p Rats in Lexington. There's one in Richmond for your next sectional living room refrigerator.
It's all there. It's p Rats. Remember nobody beats p Rats. We'll take a break, be right back here in Somerset's Kentucky Sports Radio working back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio here live in Summerset at Don Franklin. Appreciate all the Summerset folks. Every time we come here, we get and we're here a lot. Every time we come here. People are always nice to us. And a great crowd out. We're gonna give some tickets away here in just a minute. So Tony Bennett just did his press conference there Virginia says he's leaving because college sports have changed. The game of college athletics is more to a professional model. There needs to be transfer regulations and this is not the game he wants to coach.
That's all fine, but you knew that in the spring. And now you wait.
He signed a contract extension in June. He had a bunch of kids that decided to come here, presumably to play for him. It's now too late for them to go anywhere else, and he's gone. I think that Shannon is a very lame ending. Seems like a good dude. He was a very good coach. But you don't end like that because you knew he signed a contract extension in June.
He knew what the rules were. Completely lame.
We've been in this world of nil on the transport portal now for a couple of seasons. He knew exactly what it was going to be going into the sea. I think it's completely selfish to do that a week or two before the regular season starts.
Told you I watched that interview at ACC media Day just a few days ago. He knew then.
When he's talking about how excited he is and how this guy's gonna do this and they're gonna run this offense, that was in the back of his mind. I think the the speculation everyone had that he just wants to hand it off to his associate head coach, which he announced just now, it's looking like what it was.
I just want I want all the coaches, older coaches who who I never want to hear the sentence. This is not what I stood up for. This is not what I wanted to get into anymore. You don't have to do this right like you are not being held hostage Mark Pope, Mark, I don't. When I talk to Mark Pope, he was like, you know, do I think this system's perfect?
No, but this is the system.
And we're gonna go win a national championship at Kentucky under this system. If that's not your attitude, now, Ryan, go do something else.
That's fine, you'll be good, But this is not.
You don't work in a in a coal mine where like you have to do it to feed your family. You can go do something else if you want to stop whining about it, and that includes coaches that are close to the UK program to do it. If you don't want to do it, Ryan, don't do it. Somebody else will.
Get out because it ain't changing. This is the world we live in, man. So it's so unfair to those families and those kids that committed to play Virginia to be committed to play for him. Now all of a sudden, they're coached a week before they're supposed to play a exhibition game is out. That's really well, do we need to go get any of them?
I just I cannot let I'm I'm.
My biggest frustration in college athletics is not dudes getting paid Shannon's. It is coaches making eight to nine million dollars a year. Whining about their job is hard because their employees might lead.
The height of hypocrisy, right, I mean saying one thing about players and then turning around and doing the same thing that you're mad about the players doing, leaving.
I mean, they're the coaches are the most privileged people in the world. Anybody here that works for owns a business, do you have problems with employee turnover? Do people move jobs? Yes? Tried doing a restaurant. People change jobs every few weeks. The idea that he can't manage twelve players because oh, they might leave, like it just in annoy. When went by the way he coached at Wisconsin Green Bay and what happened when Virginia wanted him, he laughed, that's what people do.
Well, he set up his assistant to have the job. Now, I hope every player on that roster goes to a bigger school in twenty days. They have the window. When a coach leaves, you get thirty days. I hope Virginia in twenty days has zero players.
On the rosterem. I don't know if that'll happen.
Listen, their phones are gonna be ringing their teams who have had practices. I need a big man, I need a boy guard. And they're all calling Virginia right now.
Yeah, who's up next? Josiah, Josiah, how are you good? How are you doing doing good?
Hey?
I just wanted to.
Mention about yesterday's conversation about like the most important things that have happened that you have to know as a fan. I think one that was missed was Tayshawn Prince lighting it up against North Carolina.
We mentioned it, yeah, the five threes and from the from the logo, we mentioned it.
Oh man, I totally missed it. I listened to a podcast on runs. Sometimes I zone out a little bit.
That's okay.
No, Tayshawn Prince is definitely on there. I appreciate the call. I had people all day, Ryan suggest some other ones, but the uh, if you're talking about iconic regular season runs in a game, you know meeks fifty four's obviously up there Monk forty seven in Las Vegas, But I don't know that there is one better than Tayshawn Prince with the five threes to start to.
Get It's the only time, as a respectful member of the media as I was, I lost it. He hit that fifth one and I just instinctively stood up with clap. You're not supposed to clap on press, but it wasn't you get caught up in the moment. It was unbelievable.
That's again, part of.
What made it so awesome is that he had the you know what to even take that fifth shot. Yeah, you know, to just go I'm gonna walk across half court and I'm gonna fire it from right here, and you know what, and he turned around.
He knew it was gonna go in before it went in.
That was amazing. That's when you're feeling it. Yeah, that's a shot. Even in that moment, it's a what the hell are you doing? If that doesn't go in? Do we add Justin Edwards eleven for eleven against Alabama had never been done in history, a player making every shot.
By the way, do you know Shannon who justin Edwards is playing for this year.
I look this up literally this morning. Uh just take it again, fort Wayne madd Ants.
Okay, anybody know I'll tell you what I would give you. I'll give blue white tickets. If anybody can guess it, go for it. Seventy six ers. But that's not who's playing for. Yeah, he's opening the he's in the organization, but he's opening it somewhere else.
The Delaware Blue Coats, Delaware blue Coats, not Blue Hens.
Yeah, they're the Blue Coats in Delaware. He's on the he's on the seventy six ers G League team.
I remember last summer interviewing that kid about how he's projected number one, and he's pointing to all the UK players on the wall behind them. I'm going to be next. I really feel bad for the kid because, I mean a lot of people were wrong on that. A lot of it's on him, some it's on cow. But that kid was the number one pick in his mind last June.
By the way, in the NBA Rookie of the Year preseason odds, right now, the favorite is Zach Edie, second, Ree Shepherd, third, Rob Dillingham.
That hurts every time you say something like that.
That hurts.
I mean. And Antonio Reeves, by the way, made the final roster.
He did, so he's Antonio Reeves made the Pelicans final roster, a team that's going for the playoffs.
He made the roster.
So we have three rookies who not only made the roster, two of them are two of the three favorites for Rookie of the Year.
And we lost ok Rob on the Sports Center ig was the first thing I saw this morning. Will Rob highlights start my day?
Love that?
Ree Shephard? Well, I can't think about it.
We'll take a break A five nine two Oh that's not right? Five two s nine hundred is KSR.
There we go.
Welcome back in this Kentucky Sports Radio here at Don Franklin Chevrolet in Summerset. Big weekend for UK Sports Blue White game on UH tonight the women start at six, the men right after, and then seven forty five Tomorrow night, UK and Florida on the SEC Network. Another game of Jordan Rodgers and Tom Hart and Cole Kubrick. Right, I really like those guys like I do. I think they are a good group. I think Cole is good with his player insight. Now I think Jordan Rodgers is like, for a dude that was on the Bachelor, he's about as good an announcer as you're gonna you're gonna find. I think he's great.
I love that whole crew. I just wish they'd do all of our games. And Tom of course throws in us little ks R nuggets once in a while, So that's a great crew to have all do all our games.
Mad, as you're watching the game, will you be maybe calling the game yourself like you're doing Playboy plays that you've got a big Bowl game coming out.
I've had some people.
I've had some high schools offer to let me come and uh and do a game on a Friday night. I'm probably gonna take one of them up on it, but I'm gonna do it like I'm not gonna tell anybody, you know what I mean, Like I want to be able to do one and not have everybody going ay you stink, no one breaking you down, and I'm gonna just take a game somewhere.
No kid, I'm not kidding over.
I've had like three or four different high school football team say you could come do one of our games, and I was like, I'll only do it if you don't tell anybody I'm coming so that I can just come, no, because I need to practice without the glare of people going you don't know what you're doing.
Yeah, it's a great idea, actually to do again a real game as a practice.
Yeah, I mean you can do for me.
It's not really a practice in anything in life until you're in a situation that's real, Like me sitting at home is not gonna be the same as like having to fill airtime. It's just you can't you can't recreate that. Ryan.
I think you actually just have to go and do it.
And I think you need to go back and listen to it yourself, because you know usually you're we are best our worst critics, So go back, re listen to what you did and to help you get ready for the real game.
It's kind of like hosting a radio show by yourself. You can't really prepare for that until it actually happens.
How many of you here watch Law and Order?
Love Law and Order?
Do we have any Law on Order fans? Handful of them?
Apparently last night's Law and Order was new and then last night's Law and Order, Uh, they killed off a future Kentucky basketball coach.
What episode?
So apparently the detectives walk up and there's a dead body. You know, I've never I haven't seen Law and Order in twenty years, but there's a dead body with like a sheet over it, and the one detective says to the other, such a tragedy. He had just signed for twenty million dollars a year to coach Kentucky basket. They killed Law and Order twist.
Yeah, did the redheaded guy like pull down his glasses and say it wasn't for everybody or anything like that.
He's always got those dumb suit.
He had just been offered twenty million dollars a year to coach Kentucky basketball.
That was on the Law and Order last night. It's a little dark, is there?
Like a writer that's got a Kentucky fan and I thought it was creepy. I thought it was I'm going to watch that episode just to see who did it. The resolution it might if it might hit too close to home?
Yeah may uh.
Two big SEC football games this weekend, huge one Tennessee Alabama leads it off.
Tennessee and Alabama.
You could make an argument that the loser of this game is in danger of not making the playoff when both teams probably thought they would make it. Tennessee's at home. I have no idea what's gonna happen in this one. This is a massive game for Kaitlin de Boor in Alabama, and I actually think it's a pretty big game for Josh Hippel as well. Who Tennessee fans kind of expect to make the playoff.
Who you think.
Wins, Yeah, Tennessee. I don't think they scored a touchdown in the first half their last two games, so this high powered offense is kind of staggered a little bit in Tennessee. But the game is in Knoxville. Alabama's not the Alabama of a year's past. I'm going with Tennessee.
Yeah, I'm not gonna actually bet on it, but I would lean Tennessee getting some points at home here, just because there's so many unknowns. Bama has been very disappointing. They're still talking about de Bor's shirt, They're still so upset about that. Rome is kind of crumbling down there. But Tennessee's been disappointing too, So I think anything could happen. From a gambling standpoint, I take the points I.
Like Alabama, but I mean, so you think if Tennessee loses this game, they're out the playoff picture entirely or.
Well, I wouldn't say out, I mean, but they start to play Georgia, right, so like they still still start to play us. Yeah, as well.
It was kind of what I was getting to, what if we had the chance to knock them out of the playoff picture altogether.
I think if you, I think, if they lose to Alabama.
And the Kentucky then they lose one more, they're out. Yeah, if they beat Georgia.
But I think what you Alabama still plays, they still play Texas. I mean, they still have another hard game play LSU. So I think the loser of this could be out. Now Georgia goes to Texas. It is that they say this will be the biggest economic weekend in the in the state of Texas ever. God with Georgia playing Texas and then the next day as an F one race in Austin, they say there will be more. It'll be the most money outside of the Super Bowl when it's happening in Houston Dallas that they've ever had for a weekend in Texas.
Is this weekend in Austin, Georgia and Texas.
Unfortunately it's during our game, which makes me mad because I want to watch this one.
Who you got, man, It's tough to ever pick against Georgia. But Texas I think is the best team in the country right now, and it's a home Texas.
One for our fade those listeners, Matt Texas all three phases.
Of the three.
I do think Texas is just slightly better than Georgia and that home field advantage them first year in the SEC hosting Bulldogs. I think the atmosphere will put them over the top even more.
Kats gave Georgia everything they could handle just you know, a few weeks ago, so I think that Texas is way too much for Georgia.
Texas. Way, yeah, I think Texas.
I think this is gonna be a game where people go, oh, Texas is in the SEC.
I mean, I think we have to reorient ourselves too.
You know, we've always kind of thought, all right, football, Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Basketball, Kentucky and then whoever else. We're gonna have to start reorienting our mind that it's going to be Texas in everything. Yep is because they now have a new pot of money coming in the recruits they're gonna get I think Saturday Night Ryan is the start of get Ready. Texas is going to be like you know, Texas is going to be Texas for a long time. And I'll remind you all next year when Cooper may Or win. What's his name, arch arch Manning is the quarterback at Texas. Ryan, They're gonna be coming here to Lexing, right, we will have arch Manning playing here in Lexington.
They look so good and they played Oklahoma last weekend, so this is their chance. If you want to play big boy football, all right, you got Georgia coming in your backyard. Let's see he can play big boy football.
It's been so fun in the last ten years to make fun of Texas being back, because every summer they talk about how back they are, and they'll lose to Maryland week one. They always have a disappointing year. But this year I hate to admit how good Texas look. They're officially back, and it's their first year in the SEC, which makes it even worse.
I think they are about to uh so, I think they win. I think Texas wins, and I think Alabama wins. And you'll miss the Tennessee Well no, wait, you can listen to Tennessee postgame show while you are watching the Kentucky game, because I think they will be very sad. All right, So here's what we're gonna do. We got our eight finalists for the experience. They're all on here.
Show and one of them did not come on. Who didn't come on? Tim? Which one's Tim? Tim?
Oh? Tim was? Uh?
Tim South?
Tim? Tim was one of the ones from this show. Well, sorry, Tim, you weren't home. So what are we gonna do? So we have seven finalists that will be going for the experience.
We'll do that next. But first, tell me about Stockton Morton.
Got this text this morning at nine thirty this morning. Hey, Ryan, my fiance and I just purchased a new home in Murray. We use Stockton Mortgage based off of your recommendation and promotion. They were phenomenal. We close on the home in less than thirty days. This is the best home bying experience I've had. I will absolutely recommend Stockton to my friends and colleagues in the future.
Thank you.
That's best.
That's better read than I can ever do. So there you go.
You got that nine thirty this morning, you weren't even here yet.
I wasn't even here yet. I think I was walking into this building in nine thirty.
Check your you get emails like that direct to you.
It was a text message.
Okay, well, all right, well we will take a break and come back. Give away these tickets. They'll be right back. This is Kentucky Sports Radio. Wal come back.

All right, I man, we're gonna put our put our callers on the line here, John, let me get let me just put everybody on, and I must say hello to everyone.
Who's up?
First?
Kentucky Blue Dad.
Kentucky Blue Dad. Now he came from TikTok. Kentucky Blue Dad. Where do you live?
Pleasureville, Kentucky Pleasureville.
Yes, sir, that.
Sounds like a place I've been there. That sounds like somebody says to women where they take them. I'll take you to Pleasureville there, all right, all right, well, thank you Kentucky Blue Dad from Pleasureville. Who's next? Cam cam?
Also from TikTok cam? Where do you live? Frankfurt?
How old are you?
Cam?
By the way, she's a ws life.
What are you doing?
Cam? Are you? Are you in the middle of something? Are you there? Yeah?
I'm here.
I'm gonna sorry.
At school?
You're at school?
Are you lunch?
Cam?
Can you go somewhere? First of all, Kim, can you go somewhere a little quieter?
Yeah?
You know, I don't want to distract you, Cam interrupt your nuggets?
All right?
All right, all right, hang on Cam. Who's next? Emily? Emily? This Emily Sharp who we mentioned?
Uh? Got it? Emily?
Where are you? Where you live?
Hey? Guys?
I'm in Lexington, Kentucky, Lexington?
All right?
Who's next? Matt?
Matt? Go ahead?
And Matt?
Where do you live? I live in Lexington? Okay? And then we have our last three? Who are they?
Real?
Quick?
John?
Ryan?
Ryan? Where do you live?
Russell Springs?
Russell Springs? Remember he got it yesterday? Ryan was very nice. Ryan said, I actually didn't win. The other guy won, but it was too late because we couldn't get the other guy on the phone, so we had but Ryan actually noted that he didn't win yesterday. I screwed it up. But Ryan's still going to get to make it. Who's next?
John? John? You what you from earlier.
Right, No, I'm from Morton.
Oh Winton. That's right, if you were the day before. And then we have our winner from today. Who is that John?
That's Mike, Mike.
Okay, you there, Mike, I'm here all right, seven people playing for the UK basketball experience. Here is the car. Remember, the contest is not what is the correct answer? But what does Ryan think? The correct answer is? Okay, he did a really good job yesterday. It's amazing yesterday he got it right on. So for the people listening, especially those of you from TikTok, the game is not what is the correct answer? The game is what is Ryan think the answer is?
Ryan?
I need you to write your answer down on this sheet of paper. Okay, here's what's an interesting I bet how many of you know this. I looked up the ten seasons that Kentucky made the most.
Threes in a season.
The ten seasons where Kentucky made the most threes in a season. Seven of the ten drew are seven of the eight Rick Patino years. Okay, all the years except nineteen ninety one, which was the year if you remember, we won the.
SEC but we're not allowed to go to the tournament.
Seven of the top ten were seven of the eight Rick Patino years, the other years, the Brandon Night year, the Malik Monk year, and last.
Year, which is amazing.
All the teams were good that made all those threes, except the team last year.
So here's the question.
Add up all ten of those seasons, all ten of those seasons, total number of threes made by Kentucky In the ten seasons they made the most threes.
Ever, So you take.
The seven Rick Patino seasons, the Brandon Knight season, the Malik Monks season, and then last year with Shepherd, Reeves and Dillingham. Add up all ten of them, and what is the number of threes made?
Ryan?
Write your answer down? Do not say it? Okay, there's his answer, all right? Now, let me go through here. Let's see what everybody says. Ryan's answer is in John, who's.
The first one? Kentucky Blue Dad, Kentucky Blue Dad. What is your guess? What do you think? Ryan said?
I'm going to say.
Thirteen hundred, thirteen hundred? Next, Cam, Cam from school? What school are you in? Cam? Wait? He's up all the way Speak again? Are you there?
Yes, sir, I'm at Franklink County High School.
Franklin County High School. Did they got by the way camp? Did they know you're on the phone?
Yeah, Well, like I'm in wash so I can really just like they see him on the phone again.
They can do whatever you want, right, Franklin County High School? I could you know? I can do whatever I want?
Franklin County High School?
All right, Cam, what's your guess?
Uh, we'll go with eleven hundred and fifty.
Eleven hundred and fifty. Alright, Emily, what's your guess? Oh gosh, I'm going to do.
One thousand, four hundred and twenty.
One thousand, four hundred and twenty Okay, Now we have three gases, four more. The gas is what.
Does Ryan think? The answer is? Who's next? Matt?
Matt, what do you think I would say?
I would say two.
Thousand, two thousand? Okay, Who's next? Ryan? Ryan? Go ahead? Ryan? What do you think it is? One thousand, five hundred and twenty five, one thousand, five hundred and twenty five? Who's next? John? John? Go ahead?
Twelve hundred and fifty, twelve.
Hundred and fifty. And then finally one more, who's next? Mike?
Mike?
He's from today? Right this is Mike from today. What's your guess?
I'm gonna say you a little bit higher, maybe like twenty two hundred.
Twenty two hundred, all right, So the guesses range from twelve fifty up to twenty two hundred. Now the correct answer before I give it, twenty eight sixty five. Twenty eight sixty five is the is the correct answer. That's if you add the ten seasons up, it's twenty eight sixty five. So none of you god his high as the correct answer. Have you all seen what he says?
It might get almost Yeah, what'd you say? Twenty eight hundred and something? I talk about my calculator?
But have you seen what he has to I don't know, no, right, just if you were to play the game, what do you think Ryan said? Uh?
Ryan probably said something ridiculous like three thousand.
Okay, I did my actual gift. Three thousand, by the way, would be very close. If he said that, I'm going to say he went lower. I'm going to say nineteen hundred, all right, Ryan Lemon, the correct answer is twenty eight sixty five. Yep. The lowest answer from Cam who's making things happen at Franklin County High School is eleven fifty. The highest answer is Mike, who got became a finalist today, who has said twenty two hundred, and then all the other answers are in between.
Ryan Lemon his guess with.
The correct answer of twenty eight sixty five is seven thousand. Yeah, God, yes, I just just did you watch the game? Now? So people understand what that guest would mean. Let's assume let's assume we won the national championship every year. Okay, that would be forty games. Okay, seven thousand. If you were to do the math, would be seven hundred threes a year. Let's say you played forty games. That would mean we made seventeen threes a game.
We were good every game, were really good ten years.
That'd be a record. That would be a record. That's not what happened.
No, So our winner from today, who picked by Shann Woa because he wanted his kid to be able to come become a Kentucky fan. Mike, congratulations, Why are you? Mike?
Are you there?
I'm here?
You won? Mike? Are you happy?
Oh?
Man?
So excited?
I can't wait for tonight?
Good?
Well, thanks Shannon, he's the one that picked you.
Chane's the man.
I love to appreciate too.
What can you say, Shannon Han, excuse me, Mike, hang on. We need to get your information, your phone number and your email and there you go. Thanks to the Blue White folks, the Club Blue people for making that happen. Should be a good experience for Mike and his son that he wants.
To make sure.
He is a huge UK fan, pays off to listen. He got in today and now he's going to Blue White game and he had this great.
Can we have Ryan's shows work? I just want to know how we got there? All right, real quick? Blue White starts tonight at six tomorrow.
If you want to watch the game at Kspar, I'd say get there early. We're serving Gator Meet all day games at seven forty five. Our pregame show is at four thirty tomorrow, only one hour for road game, so it's at four point thirty. We will do it at the bar. Then we'll do postgame late into the night. Thanks all of you at Don Franklin for coming out. We appreciate it. In summer set, I'm gonna give somebody some tickets here as well. This has been Kentucky Sports Radio
