More KSR Live from the Scramble in Somerset talking UK's loss to Georgia, Matt's trip to Green Bay, and Jane's Addiction's on-stage fight.
Welcome to hour two of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back our number two Kentucky Sports Radio A five nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven text machine seven seven two seven seven four five two five four Ryan Lemon, I want to tell you about UH about this weekend.
All right.
I can't wait to hear your stories.
All right.
So I got Mario on here as well to talk about it. Mario and I drove. I just want Here was our schedule. We left here Friday. We left from UH from the remote at Country Boy. We went and stayed in Chicago Friday night. Saturday, got up, went from Chicago to Milwaukee, went to a party, the ESPN party Saturday night, and then we got up Sunday morning, drove from Milwaukee to Green Bay, which is two hours, then eight and a half hours back after the game to Lexington, and then we got up this morning and came to Somerset. So I'm gonna be honest with you, I'm a little bit tired. But first of all, describe what you thought of northern Indiana your first time seeing corn and windmills.
Lots of woodmills, lots of corn.
I didn't know.
I've always heard of woodmills in Indiana. I just didn't know there were so many. It's yeah, stretched out for miles and miles, and I'm telling Matt, Matt does a good job. And the whole like the entire trip, everybody's talking about the music. With Matt, he was just making me laugh the whole time, like he's a big jokester, Like he was just cracking jokes the whole time. But uh, yeah, like I said, withdmills, lots of corn. And then we basically got into Chicago.
But you said you thought it looked like a horror movie. Yes it did.
At one point Matt was playing I don't remember what song you were playing, but it had the vibes of the song matched.
Of where where we were. Yes, you get did you did you like Conway Twitty? He was interesting?
Interesting, he was interesting.
I didn't. I didn't.
He's not my vibe.
Matt.
I like listening to Tyler Childers. You played like he really liked.
Your favorite song I played was that Jamie Johnson in Color song.
You really like that one?
Great lyrics, great lyrics.
You said that I didn't Runze. The guy that wrote that's from Nicholsville. I can't think of his last name, but he's from Nicholasville. He went to Eku, the guy that wrote that song.
I didn't know that, all right, So we get to Chicago, then we go to Milwaukee. So I just want to explain this party we went to. First of all, they have us in.
A very like sprinter van.
Was it a sprinter van, Matt, Yeah.
Yeah, it was in a space.
But they have us in this very artistic hotel, right like there's paintings everywhere. Mario walks in and goes. I don't really do art, so it was it was a different vibe, I think. But then they we all, this guy has it in his house. Now he all of our ESPN bosses are there, my radio boss, the sales boss, this is at the guy who basically runs the sales and all that this is his house. I want you to think about a house that's as nice as any house you've ever seen.
I want to I want to picture this house. It is on Lake Michigan.
But when I say it's on Lake Michigan, I don't mean like he's it's up here. He's got a doc. I mean the water comes up to the rocks and there's his yard.
Wow. You walk out of his yard and.
You're on like Michigan.
It is unbelievable. He has a house.
In his house is a basketball court where he has the twenty twenty one Milwaukee Bucks NBA title. Remember that sign that said fear the deer that would be by.
He has that in his house. He bought it.
He bought the twenty twenty one Milwaukee Bucks title, Drew.
It's in his house.
Basketball.
The house is unbelievable.
And as we walk up, though it's on a street where you have to ask permission to get on it. Okay, as we pull up, there are people. If you've ever seen White Lotus, there are people standing out front waving like as the boat comes up in White Lotus and everyone's waving, and Myron looks at Mario.
And goes, dude, I wonder if this is like a get out situation.
Definitely get out a lot of get out, bob.
Was Myron says to Mario if I signal you were running it was. It was definitely that vibe because it was probably what two hundred white people, you and Myron.
There was about me and Myron and I think two other black people. Two other black people in there.
So there's a lot of people there. All right, we walk up.
We're early.
I don't know why we got there so early.
The bus came late.
Man bus came like we were still early. We get there.
The only people there at the time are me, Myron, Mario, Mike Tannenbaum, and Steve Levy. Okay, so Steve Levy from ESPN. This guy is like our boss and I've never met him before ever. Okay, this is his house. He's very nice, he's welcoming, welcoming us in et cetera. We go around and introduce ourselves. Myron goes first as I'm Meern Metcalf. He goes, oh, Myron, I love you. I go I met Joan, and he looks at me and says.
Oh, you're the guy that makes everybody mad at ESPN radio.
What that's what he said.
That's your boss saying that. Is that not what he said?
You're the guy that pisses everybody up.
Oh that's not the language we were gonna use on the radio, But that's what he said.
Mario is telling us exactly how it was. That is exactly what he said. And I've never met this guy, and I'm like, oh, oh, is that I was like, is that really what he was?
Like?
Wow? Not everybody just you do things very differently. And I'll go, oh, okay, so that's the introduct Wow from one of your bosses. That's that's my introduction.
Say the same thing about you. You should have said.
So.
So we spend the evening.
Then they tell us, Hey, we're gonna interview you and Myron and one of the morning show people, Michelle Smallman, in front.
Of the crowd everybody.
So there's two hundred people in the crowd and we're sitting on chairs. I don't know anyone there, set Meyron, Mario, and Michelle, and they interview us in front of everybody.
It's a little awkward, but I thought it went all right, righte.
But this is the funny part to me.
Mario sits in the front row, okay, because he's being nice, he's watching us.
When we're done, we leave and go out the back, but he's trapped.
I can't move because then they bring Steve Levy and Mike Tannenbaum to do their podcast live in front of everybody.
Want to be rude.
Everyone else in the party decides to go drink. They decide to go eat. My man is trapped seeing the Mike Tannenbaum uh and and Steve Levy podcast.
You were stuck there for like an hour and a half.
I couldn't move.
I didn't want to bring too much attention and just disrespect him.
Are you a regular listener?
Now?
Yes, I guess so.
Then Steve Levy, Okay, how long have you seen Steve Levy on on on television? He's been around forever. And then you know he's right there. There's Steve Levy right there. He come up and I go, hey, Steve, Man, been watching you forever, and he just looks at me and goes, so, how do.
You piss everybody?
Really?
And so now my first introduction to Steve Levy, I'm thinking, I don't really know how that happens. And he goes, well, I gotta figure that out. He goes, I want to be able to do that too. You like the ESPN bad Boy? I guess I didn't know that. Do the party? I talk about how I freak out during the Kentucky play. Everybody's coming up and watching the game, like again, I'm the Kentucky guy. Everybody's talking about Kentucky. We're about to leave the boss again, thanks everybody. Nice guy.
And he looks, he pulls this stranger over, and he pulls him over, and he goes and he points at me. He goes, Matt Jones right here. Let me tell you something. He's a great radio talent. I mean he's not as good as he thinks he is, but he's a great radio talent.
And I went, oh, well, thanks. I mean, how do you answer that, Drew?
I mean, I never melt dealt with this man before, and the like you got ambush.
Was this an intervention for you?
And every interaction you have?
I mean he was like talking to me like we were friends. Yeah, I think it was out of love, but it was in front of strangers.
Crazy.
So what did you think about being at the party in the house you'd never been to anything?
It was like an Instagram house. You see those those houses when you scroll on Instagram. Where it was was one of those houses.
It was.
It was incredible, like felt like I was in a movie set, like in a movie scene where you know, me, Matt and Myron. We would walk right by the rocks in front of Lake Michigan.
The sun.
The sun is set at this point and it's just a great a great view and where we have our drinks and we're just was talking and enjoying life.
Man.
I enjoyed it, man, to be honest with you, like I said, it felt like I was in a movie.
And then you went to the to the Steve Livy podcast.
Yes I did.
He told me when I first got here, because I asked him about the trip before we started the show.
He said, Tyler Childs is an incredible He's incredible.
Seriously, Yeah, hey, Shannon, find this song. This was the one you thought was when he sang from the Willie Nelson concert. I went to you, remember I went tonight he's saying time of the Preacher.
His strong voice.
See if you can find that, Shannon and play it on the way coming in, because like you, Mario thought it was the best voice he'd ever heard of.
I wrote down with Mario today and so we were talking a lot about the weekend of the trip, and I actually, what was the think that your best thing, the funniest thing you did? He said that party, That party was amazing.
I mean that's a house like I don't get to go in houses like that very often. Then Sunday at Green Bay, I have to tell you, you know, you get some moments sometimes where you're like, how did I get here?
I had a.
Little bit of that yesterday in Green Bay, to be up there doing a remote in front of like hundreds of people I didn't know at this, at this tailgate with Myron ESPN Radio sitting behind me with the thing, and then Lambeau fee Old right behind that, and at one point and he he'll never know how important this was to me, because this will be something I remember. I'm sitting there doing it and I look and Steve Levy has come over and is just listening to me, like he's just listening to me and Myron talk and like intently listening. And I get a little nervous because I see him, And then to try to make myself less nervous, I go, hey, look there's Steve Levy. And I was like, Myron, look how look at that guy? What a well dressed guy, Look at that hair, Look at that guy? And I said, we love you, Steve Levy, and he just looks at me and he gives me a signal like you're the Man and I gotta I never thought Steve Levy would make me emotional, but it was almost I don't know, I guess cause I never get to go to ESPN. I don't always feel like I'm on it. I'm just doing the shows at my you know what I mean. There was something about that, and then those folks listen, like having them listen to me Ryan that made it.
It was just a cool day. I'm not gonna lie to you know.
We look at these guys and they're kind of larger than life because this is what we do, you know. And you see somebody like that, he's been in the business for twenty five years and he's acknowledging what you do. It sounds like you need a moment to yourself right now. It was really cool.
And then you know, unfortunately we finish, the game starts and we just have to get in a car and come right back. I didn't even get to go to the game, but it was still a really deep day.
I thought it was cool on social media seeing all the KSR fans, including one of my best friends in college, Mario tweeted is selfie with I'm like, what is going on here?
How did you two, we probably had forty ks R. What do you think forty KSR fans come over?
Ten groups of five, ten groups of forty so like ten groups of four or five people come over.
Found us based on Mario's pictures on social media. Found us came over and said what, like how big a fans they were?
And then it was crazy.
I had a couple people that do me from that show, Yeah, come over, you know it.
Was it was just it was a really cool thing.
Mario was a lot of fun, and you seemed it was neat actually watching Mario experience all that because he never been to Green Bay, never been to Chicago, never been to Milwaukee.
It seems like you had fun, dude.
I had so much fun.
Man.
My favorite part, Matt was probably, like you said, we're watching the game through through the team, through the screens outside of his house or his his TV's.
They finally let us in.
They eventually invited us in, but just watching that and when Zion had to almost had the interception and I had to I had to tap Matt's shoulder because he was too busy celebrating. So he's running off and he's celebrating. I'm like Matt, Matt, He's got the ball, He's got the ball, and like it was just it was incredible.
Man Like, I enjoyed the entire experience, So I appreciate had a lot of fun.
Man appreciate all the people that came up and saw us up in Green Bay. It was very, very cool, including at the casino in Milwaukee. My friend Adam Coomback texted me goes, I'm in Milwaukee at this casino and we got to hang out with him. And I walked into casino. Know, how would you describe the man who recognized me from wrestlers? How would you describe how that man looked.
Let's just say I was surprised when he started talking because because I wasn't expecting him to recognize you.
You didn't look like a person what you said. You're being nice, you said to me. He looked like he needed to shower and I needed to go wash my hands.
He shook his hand, Very true, very true. But he came up and he goes, aren't you that dude from wrestling? And it threw me off, like that was crazy.
He said, Matt Jones.
And then he got his get god our attention, and he's like you're you're from wrestlers.
I love that show man. It was it was an awesome trip.
Well you could tell. Mario talked a lot about it, complimented you in your music selection, said he didn't you didn't force me.
I played some I played some rap for him so he wouldn't feel totally. He'd never heard of Craig mac so I gave him some. I played put some brand new flavor in his ear. There a little bit of Luda. So we did that. But it was fun. Thank you for going, Mario and helping during the drive eight five nine, twenty two eighty and we're gonna get back to the football and more.
This is Kentucky Sports Radio working back Tucky Sports Radio.
All right.
So listen to this this voice when he gets to the chorus here, this was the you know, Mario woulden didn't show a lot of emotion about songs, and then when he heard this, he goes, My goodness, listen to that voice.
So we have another Tyler Childers fan.
I pitched picture Mario looking out the window at all the windmills.
Just so much joy.
All right, So chant I want you to turn it up.
And when we get to this chorus because you'll see what I'm saying. He absolutely tell me somebody who has a voice like this, go ahead, Shan, that.
Is a strong man.
And let's say, reminds me, Shannon of how we used to say, no George Jones.
Nobody sounds like him.
Nobody sounds like Tyler Childers when he sings songs like that.
And it's gonna be right here in Louisville coming up on sun.
It's gonna be there Sunday. I'm trying to get up the energy to go and fight a festival crowd at Bourbon and beyond. I'm not really a festival guy, but may have.
To go on.
Say you'll get in there. You don't miss a Toller show. Yeah, I don't miss a lot of them. One person writes Matt. With the football game on on Saturday, do you think that when we go to play Ohio we will have a better crowd?
I do now.
Actually, I think a lot of our fan base back on board after what happened is passed ouday. So yeah, we were a little worried about what the crave will be like this Saturday. It's parents weekend. It'll still be full because of what happened on the weekend.
I think you will too. Who's up next.
Let's go to Joe.
Joe, Go ahead, Joe.
Thank you, Matt.
Usually when I call your show, Matt, I'm usually pretty serious about football.
But I'm gonna tell you something that happened before the game.
We're sitting in the weston zone row eighteen, and I tell my wife, just Georgia boys getting ready kick an extra point in practice, and I'm telling her it's gonna go over to net and come right for her head. And she's just give me that look like, okay, Well, here comes Matt. This ball is heading right for my wife's head. And I'm seventy two years old. I'm not as bad leg as I used to be, and I kind of whipped.
On the ball.
And the gentleman behind me saved my wife's wife. He caught the football for he killed my wife.
I don't think I would have killed her, but that's still very nice.
Then the guy sitting behind you, yes, I think your wife would not have It would not have killed her, but it might have hurt well.
I was trying to stand by my lady, but I just didn't get the ball. But thank god, the gentleman sitting behind her gottage. Right, well, I don't like you because you kicked it over the net?
Do I.
Understand what? I appreciate the call.
By the way, shout out there in the back, we have uh Natalie I think is her name?
Is?
It is her bachelor This was their bachelorette party weekend and they are playing in the scramble and she is wearing her veil while she plays in the scramble today, Drew, I have to.
Say, that's yeah. Everybody should have played that. I think. I don't think I've ever seen that before in a scramble.
I saw the pull up earlier.
I fought, are we really having a batch retp party at Woods and ben Casars?
That's exactly what that's right.
They say they're coming to win too.
All right, Well, listen, we've only once, I think, had an all women's team in this, and they are an all women's team and they're coming to try to win the thing.
So we'll see what happens. Who's up next?
Poe?
How are you?
Poe?
I'm done good. I hope you guys are all right, that we are good. I've got two two things to say, and they kind of linked together. Kentucky should be proud first of all playing so hard and tell them so close. And also the game before shows that the South Carolina game was you know, South Carolina was pretty good too. Yeah.
No, South Carolina is better than we thought.
We still shouldn't have lost thirty one to six, and we still should have beaten them on our home field. But you're right, they did show against LSU that they're probably better than we thought they were before we played them.
But things like South Carolina and Kentucky just certain teams and programs have to learn how to win big games and it's hard. LSU knows how to do it. Georgia knows how to do it. Alabama, all these teams they that I agree with you on the fourth and eighth, and this is what my point is. They're playing not to lose.
And I agree. I totally agree, and I appreciate the call.
My my most my only complaints generally speaking about Mark stoops teams are time management and the risk factor when you have to go win the game. I think those are two things that have plagued him over the course of his career. They are bad at time management. They've never tried to get better. They've never brought in someone who understands the clock, and that's always brought me. That's always driven me nuts. And then I'm all for conservative play. That's how Mark Stoops plays, That's how he knows. But you have to know, Drew that sometimes there's a moment you have to hit the gas, and sometimes they just don't do it.
Yeah, it's like he has more trust than his defense than his offense. Most years showed him on a fourth and eight. He didn't seem to trust him to go out and get eight yards, I'll add, which was a complaint that I already mentioned in the first half of the show. Never loved Mark Stoops at the end of a half.
Never, He's never been good.
Many times have we seen Kentucky give up a touchdown just to get to the locker room. And I thought that came back to bite him a little bit on Saturday too.
The time management part, because to me, that's the most easily fixable.
Just go get a kid who knows math. Just do that.
Just go get a kid who knows math and let him stand there and tell you the math.
That's it. And they just never do it.
I think every football staff needs a Madden kid.
Just you played thousands of football games at least with the clock.
That's not crazy. He played out so many scenarios.
It's just math. Just go get the math guy. I think it's a fair criticism, and like I think it was Craig our caller earlier. There are times you have to need to seize the moment, and that was a moment that doesn't come around very often for many football teams. You got a chance to beat Georgia.
And again it's not a big deal, but that moment I talked about with two to eight and the two minute warning. The old school football mentality was let it go to the two minute warning, not so much in college but in the NFL. But anyone who has studied analytics and numbers says, call the time out before the two minute warnings, so that you get two and they didn't do it and you and it cost them eight seconds.
Do we win?
No?
But here's what's in.
We might have gotten one more playoff, that's true. We might have gotten one more playoff and then who.
Knows who's next. Let's go to Lance Lance.
Go ahead, Lance, Hey, guys, first, you know I didn't get on sts on the part I agreed with Billy in the postgame show.
The biggest problem was when we quit running the ball yeah on the last drive, because I mean, you're getting three to four yards of run. Georgia showed that their defensive line couldn't stop Jimmy late, so that frustrated me. But what really made me mad, and I don't want to blame it all on the officials, but that interception that was overturned. If he would have maintained possession, they call that a catch every.
Time, but but remember if it's a catch, he's down.
No, and that what has a thing? He would have been down. And so it's still frustrated me how quick I felt that Paul was. And I don't know, I don't know if people feel this way or see it, but I feel like when you're playing at Georgia or an Alabama and the SEC can keep them undefeated to save that money to get in the playoffs, you've got to be fourteen points better or you're not getting that win or out. Anything that's QUESTIONABLEY goes the other way.
I mean, I know what you're saying, but in today's world, even if Georgia lost, they wouldn't have been out of playoffs. I mean, you can probably lose two or three games and still be in. We'll take a break and be right back here. It's the KSR Golf Scramble. It's Kentucky Sports Radio.
Welcome to TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney.
Call TJ.
He'll make them pay. Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio. Present it by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back Kentucky Sports Radio. Everybody's serving a little Red State Barbecue for lunch. And I'll tell you Red State Barbecue has been giving quality smoke meat to central Kentucky for nearly fourteen years.
I remember when they opened the place.
It was right when KSR started seven days a week and enjoyed brisket, pulled port pulled chicken, and of course they're one of the kinds smoked and flash fried wings. And on Sundays they have prime rib. Red State Barbecue's out on Georgetown Road.
I pass it when I go to Georgetown College to teach, and I always say, man, that.
Is so good.
Eat there often Red State Barbecue. If you've never tried it, you definitely should. We were just talking during the break, right We've had such bad luck on fumbles. Three fumbles against South Carolina, all of which bounced right in their hands, and then Georgia had three fumbles, all of which they recovered. I'd six fumbles in two weeks and we haven't gotten one of them.
The one fumble that happened, like when Derek Jackson was standing right there and kind was complaining at the official and now only did the fumble did George recovered it. They recovered it for a first down. It rolled forward and they got it, recovered it and got a first down out of it when Derek Jackson was standing really right there and could have maybe fallen on it.
Some of them has been bad luck, but if can be critical, they've also quit on a few plays and not gone to the whistles in South Carolina where they kind of didn't realize the ball was on the ground already looking at the sideline. You got to keep playing till you know the play's dead. But they've had bad luck too. Been a lot of fumbles. In the last couple of games.
There were there weren't a lot of fumbles. It's it's that they're creating the turnovers they are. They're just not, you know, they The mats suggests that the offense recovers a fumble about fifty five percent of the time, and we've gotten zero of six, so like forty five percent, you'd think we'd at least get one or two, and we have gotten any.
I didn't think there was any way you could play George without a point and them not have a turnover, because even when you've played them close the last couple of years, they've had four turnovers and the loss. You know, yeah, they've turned it over several times in the games that have been close in the Stoops era. But to have zero turnovers and still be the way it went showed the Kentucky just lined up and went adam toe to toe.
The last time they've had a really close call against a team that wasn't that good was at Missouri two years ago and they and I think Missouri recovered four turnovers from Georgia and we were right there and we didn't have any to recover. Who's next, Let's go to Clay Clay.
How are you Clay?
What's up?
God?
What's going on?
Hey? If I have two things, this is for Drew.
Drew, I'm the one you on the rapid reactions the South Carolina game. I was the one that told you we're going eleven and one, and all the Wie downers and all the haters didn't believe it.
You know, you shot you almost called it.
I think we're the.
Best team in the nation still, Uh, we got absolutely sold.
My dad's on that.
My dad, you think we're the best team in the nation.
Yeah, I still do.
Uh okay, And he said he talked to the head ref and the ref said the pick shicks should have stood.
I mean, I think it could be to this. And then I I was I was sitting in.
About sex and seven, and uh, there was about three minutes left and there was fans leaving.
I think it's unacceptable. I mean, yeah, he should.
Even said that to me.
He's like, why are people I don't understand that.
I will say, even after the fourth and eight, you still had a shot. I mean if we had, if we had stopped them three and out, we still have a decent shot. We did not, But I do not understand how you would leave with three minutes to go.
Oh, it needs to be much better.
I expect the Ohio game to be sold out and fans to not leave.
I mean, if you're gonna I don't know if it's a tailgame.
I love your confidence. Okay, I got gave you like five, I like. I love the confidence though.
There right, there were some early exits though we noticed that in real time, like there's I mean, it's unlikely Kentucky wins, but I wouldn't be leaving.
It's disappointing because that crowd was so good all night long and so loud to see in the kind of a couple of bill out there at the end. Well, let me say this to the crowd. If you went to that game.
I I can't remember the last time Kroger Field looked better on television and more.
Excited than it's beautiful. I mean, you have to go back.
I don't know when the last one is, I would say, but from start to finish, I cannot remember watching the game and going, man, kroger Field looks lit right now, like I can't remember drew one.
That looked better.
Yeah, and I think the lights went on a long way too.
You know, they didn't really get to use them against Southern Mists because it was the you know, the lightning delays.
South Carolina afternoon game. I think the New Lights Show.
It really added to the atmosphere because you can make it completely dark in there, and that would just get everyone fired up. The tim couch towels they gave away that that was cool to it, everybody waving those.
It really was a special night that just came up just a little short of the end.
There are moments, you know, I can name Stevie got loose, you know, the the Bud Dupree play that one time, and all the moments where the place went nuts.
But I mean, I can't remember a game that from start to finish was like that.
And I was I was jealous, you know, I was in I was at ESPN when we beat Florida for the first time, and then I was like, if they win this and I'm not there, that would have that one would have hurt a little bit.
Who's up next?
Let's go to Jessica.
Jessica. How are you, Jessica?
I'm doing good?
First time, long time? Who are.
H So two things we me and my good friend Angie. The year that John Wall first came to Madness, we were there in the audience. We left and you were trying to get.
A cab and.
I was getting a cab.
There's a yellow cabin, And I said, aren't you going to Louisville. We can take you back because we're from wolves And you said, oh no, no no. But me and my girl we are just about fanned out, thinking we could drive Matt Jones back to Louisville that night.
Weiking that night, so I would have it would have been good.
And so the other My second thing. I love all of the music that you always play and all the artists. But I was wondering if you had ever heard of Steven Wilson Jr.
I have not.
No, wasn't he our quarterback a few years ago.
He wrote a lot of songs for a long time, and now all of a sudden he's got an album out. But if anybody listened to this song, I promise they love it, and it makes me think of you guys a lot too. It's called nineteen ninety four or just ninety four.
I'll look it up.
Yeah, it's a great song, and I just wanted to share that with you because you play well.
Thank you very much. I will look it up on my drive home. I appreciate the call, and thanks for offering me a ride. In two thousand. I guess if it was two thousand, John Wall had been two thousand and nine there where they appreciate the call where they were uber uber, Yeah, maybe that was pre uber Shandon. Speaking of music, why did Jane's addiction get in a fight on the stage?
Awesome? She was wild.
That was one of the craziest ending to do a concert I've ever seen. I don't know what was up with Perry Ferrell, but he wasn't happy with.
I mean, have you ever heard of that a lead singer and a guitar player getting in a fight on stage, two guys in the same band.
I'm sure it's happened before, but I haven't seen one like that. I mean, we got to work on Perry Ferrell's right hook. That wasn't very strong. That looked like a.
Week That was wild.
That was the uh playing guitar too loud? I read fans in the front bro were yelling, we can't hear you sing. So he got mad at the band for playing.
Too well on the sound.
Guy though, that's say where.
What does that mean? Playing the guitar too out? So are they like quitting or are they just gonna go back at it?
They canceled the next gig, and they're on tours, so I don't know that they're going to continue that tour. I don't know that they're quitting as well.
I will say this, if they decide to keep going, this is great publicity. I haven't thought of Jane's addiction in twenty years, and now I've seen him fire.
He watched it a couple of years ago.
Oh well, I.
Don't remember it. Well, that's right. They weren't larger than life right before Metallica. I do now that you say that, I do remember that.
Who's next, Chuck? Chuck?
Well, you know that was a tough That was the first time I've been out of the house. All right, go ahead, Chuck.
Hey, Matt, I appreciate to pick my call.
I got a theory for you.
Talk about this play over and over and over my head like you've been talking on the show. I knew be up, but interception. My theory is, they called it. First of all, they called it a catch and uh pick six on the field, right, yes, all right, if they do that and they go to they ship it to New York or wherever they did, Yeah, they should come back and say, well they got this completion as a catch. Well, the guy had to throw the ball when he went down and touched the bottle, but the ground can't call it the bubble. He's complete making a football move when he's turning over on his back. Our defender just happened to complete the rest of the kids.
Right.
Yeah, but again, it's college football, so if he caught the if he caught it, he's down. If it's the NFL, then our arguments a lot stronger because if it because he wouldn't have been touched. But if it's college and he caught it, he's down. So that's why I mean, I hate I wanted it to be a pick six. I just don't see the scenario where it was a pick six.
You know, I'll say he said he caught it on the field, as that that's being grounds to maybe keep it.
Well, that was the best that's the best argument for it, and I appreciate the call. The best argument Drew is well, we're not clear, so we just go with what's on the feet.
That's that's where I am. I mean, you gotta have the inclusive evidence to turn it over. And even though it's hard to imagine that scenario, it's kind of hand and ball when it shoots straight up in the air. So I was hoping they would just stick with their original decisions.
Still would have been nice. You could have given us a break, like I put George on the ropes. Let them try to go and do something right.
When does Kentucky football get a break? Man, give us a break, Give us a break.
I think we should.
That should be a rule once a year, give Kentucky a break?
All right, do it for him? Who's next?
Casey, Casey?
How are you?
Casey? A? Five nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven?
Hey, good morning, fellas. So I had two quick things. I kept catching myself during the game, not enjoying it because I was so nervous that he was going to turn and the wheels are just gonna fall off. So I don't know if anybody else.
Ex yeah, actually was the opposite, because I was very nervous during the South Carolina actually was the opposite. I didn't think we had any chance of winning, so like it made it to where I actually didn't feel nerves until the moment that I actually thought we could win, and then I started getting nervous.
I just kept waiting for them to run all over. So I'm really proud of our guys. And what I was most impressed with was the middle eight. Freddie always talks about that middle eight, and we were so disciplined and zoned in and that middle eight I felt like it, but we did.
Yeah, I appreciate the call that was However, I mean, wasn't it the middle eight where we fumbled or no?
Or was it right before the middle eight? There was it right before the middle of the second quart Well.
You know, I mean again, I didn't have a problem with them not taking a shot, Ryan, you were telling me.
Greg McElroy had a problem with it.
That was one of his big critical comments he made. I think during the broadcast that there was nine seconds on the clock, why not take one shot at the end zone because you still got plenty of time to get the field goal unit out there, throw ad jump all to day, maybe you get a PI and then you got a shorter field goal attempt. Something that they just asserted taking it.
Been a bigger hurry even before they got to the See that's my thing.
Okay again back to clock management. That whole drive, they were not in a hurry. It was almost to me, like the whole drive, they were playing for the field goal, the field goal, and it's like, dude, how many times are we going to be in the red zone. It's probably not gonna be a lot. Let's go. This is Georgia. Man, you gotta take a back.
And I know it's nice to have the photo that you're up at halftime, but three to three, six to three, Yeah, let's take a shot. Let's try to stretch us out and land a punch on Georgia.

Final segment here at the KSR Golf Gramble, It's Kentucky Sports Radio. Yeah, this is Jane's addiction. This before they fight. Uh, been been caught Steam been caught fighting Shannon on stage. So are you going to All Bourbon and Beyond this weekend? You're gonna be out there.
Be there for all four days of that and all four days of Louder than Life, So eight out of eleven days I will be out there.
It's wild, and you're gonna go and you're gonna go to the to my Reds Braves tickets once too, right.
Yeah, Wednesday, I appreciate the tickets.
Yeah, So you're gonna you're gonna have free You're gonna have a You're never gonna be home.
Wait, do you think anybody will fight at Bourbon Beyond? Is like Zach Bryan punches guitar player in the face or something.
There's a good chance Dave Matthews goes over and.
Yeah, he's too high. He's not gonna He's not gonna puch you, buddy. So who else playing? You?
Got Tyler Childer, Zach Brian, Dave Matthews, Beck.
Who else?
Match Box twenty Sting is the other headliner.
That's a that's a pretty amazing group of people to be part of one festival, isn't.
It's a ton of them Morning Jackets on there. Okay about Lyle love It, the Beach Boys?
Oh wow, what night is Lyle love It? I love Lyle love It.
I don't know what what day?
But dude, I love La. I can't see him playing a festival, but I think that would be awesome.
I've said this before, but when I worked in Malades, I waited on La Love It one of the nicest.
People that's walked this earth.
Sometimes their celebrities know how they're gonna be unbelievab.
Mean, he had to have gotten Julia Roberts somehow.
It wasn't on appearance, So I guess being nice was probably part of part of how he made it happen. Eight five, nine, two eighty seven. Who's up next?
Let's go to Sean Sean.
What's up Sean?
Hey, guys, breaking news. I was on Instagram when you were talking about Jane's addictions. Hot off the Press. Dave Navarro is the guitarist. The tour will be canceled due difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell. We have come to the conclusion to cancel the remainder of the dude.
That's like they could have really, they could have really capitalized this.
And now, well there must be something going.
On with Yeah, I mean, quick though, your buddy, your buddy, Marilyn Manson, Shannon, pull it up. He's been in a fight with his guitars on stage, but that doesn't surprise me.
Having set next to him on an airplane, I can I almost fought fought him and we only went forty five minutes.
So yeah, I appreciate the call.
That's what I mean.
I know we've talked about it before, but sitting with Marilyn Manson middle seat between me and Drew is top three weirdest things of my life. He never stopped talking. He never shut up talk that much. I mean, never shut up. It's still don't you think that's the.
Word, Sophie's where we're sticking straws in our nose. I don't even know why, but he's like, let's just do this.
An empty plane rhyme. The plane is empty.
Drew and I intentionally on Southwest sit to where there's an open middle seat, thinking like, well, nobody will sit there, can stretch our.
Legs and he walks on the plane.
Nobody else is there, and he chooses to sit middle seat in between.
The two is with his fiance and said, I'm gonna sit with these two.
Unbelievable.
That was such a weird that we should have him on the show. So yeah, I don't know who's up next. Dalton, Dalton, go ahead.
Dalton, all right.
I gotta two things, the kicker and time management. And were talked about the decision not to go for it in the punt and then the uh not having enough time or not taking a shout at the end of the first half. Well, both of those situations are directly derived from what happened before that. In the second half, you got a DSK that is running it over NFL players all the way down the field, and then on second.
You try to pass.
The reason that you're going for it or punting it forward, then eight is because how you played up until the decision.
I get I agree with that, but as I said, you're I think you're totally right. But I would say, if you go back and watch the video of the second and eight, he decided a good play if they if they're if he if Brockett had a MILLI second more that is a maybe a touchdown. So while I agree with his second his second down, play it. You know, I'm not trying to be Shandon Dawson. If it'll work, you'd have loved it. But there was a little bit.
But you're putt You're putting your faith in a quarterback that's playing his second.
Fault. Though I think that that pass was probably on the line.
But go ahead, and about the kicker.
So I'm pretty sure Alex Rainer's right leg has scored more points on Georgia than both of the teams they've played before, twice as many points in those two teams.
That's probably right. That's fine, that's a fact.
That's a good car.
And they were talking towards the end of the game where we might have to kick a game winning field goal. They were saying, you know this other guy, they say he can boot it in practice, but he's all over the place, but he can get seventy yards. If I'm Alex Rader, I've scored all twelve points on Georgia. Mark set two records in this film, gonna give it.
Let me tell you something, if they if they had gone out there and I appreciate the call.
I don't care if it was fifty eight yards.
If they had gone out there for a game winning kick and sent someone else out.
There might have been a mutiny and then he missed it.
And we would all be Yeah. I think they would have had to give him Rainer the chance drew either way.
Absolutely, I mean the ones he made to that point, four of them. By the way, Kentucky's four times better than Clemson. Uh, Clemson score, that's right. You would have to give Court dot com. That's k RT dot com. If you need physical therapy, they've helped Ryan. They'll help you if.
You have any if he's You're feeling better, aren't you thanks to Court. Absolutely, that's exactly right. They'll help you get off your get your pain out of the way, get you back up and working.
Uh.
They take almost all health insurance. It's at court dot com.
You do not need a doctor's referral locations all over the state. If you are in pain, call Court. That is ko rt dot Looking forward to this scramble. Today, I'll be on eighteen with Ryan and Mario all day, not gonna play, and then tomorrow we're at Ksbar.
