Drew, Shannon, and Billy talk UK Football and take your calls.

This this Kentucky Sports Radio, present it by Stockton Mortgage.

Now here's Matt Jones.

Welcome to a new day, a Friday, August thirtieth on Kentucky Sports Radio. We are one day from the opener at Kroger Field tomorrow night, when the Cats take on Southern Miss. Today, we'll get you ready for that and a lot more. Drew Franklin here filling in for Matt Jones and Ryan Lemon for a third straight day. Have Shannon the dude in Louisville producing the show. Have Billy our Sports across from me. He's going to be joining the discussion for two hours. Billy, Oh, I believe I played calling you. We might stick with that. Mario is also here. I might have Mario hop on. But as everyone feels, it's an exciting time to be a Kentucky fan. We've been talking about it all summer training camps, over all the talkings over with one more sleep and tomorrow we're out there for that game again. That's seven, it's actually seven to fifty five, not seven forty five. We get an extra ten minutes tomorrow night on the SEC Network with our boy Tom Hart, Jordan Rodgers, Cole Kublick. We want to hear from you all today on the Clark's Pumping Shop phone line at eight five nine two eight oho two two eight seven. I'm gonna give the callers a little bit of an asignment, Billy. We're gonna play a little bit of a game, Okay. I heard on the pre show it was a little slow getting moving with the callers, so I came up with something to bring it out of them.

To Yeah, Shannon had to scream in. A couple of people call in.

I almost pulled over and called in.

What's weight gota rolling?

Like?

What's the first person called in? Then all of a sudden, it was good. Just gotta wake people up, you know.

Well, I'm glad you got them fired up. We'll see if we can get some submissions for this. I want to hear everyone's game day setup, whether it be your tailgating set up, if you're going to Kroger Field, maybe you're just at home and you cook for yourself and you've got a fridge full of Kentucky Blue Light. Maybe you're meeting friends at ks Bar. Whatever you have going on, call in and tell us and then we're gonna rate it. Maybe even Shannon will do some scorecards. We'll see. We know Shannon, Shannon likes to rate things. We might even give suggestions. Yeah, pick apart people's plans. But Shannon, do you like that game to get us excited for tomorrow?

I love it.

We want to know what your setup is. If it's good, we'll tell you if it's not good, if it needs some improvements. Maybe we'll give you some some pointers, you know, Yeah.

Maybe what's on the grill, what's in the cup? Where are you? Who are you with? What are you listening to? We just want to hear as many details as possible, get that excitement flowing today, and then we'll break it all down for him.

But yeah, how long ago did you set up your tent to tailgate for the game?

Months ago?

You know?

Are you drinking any of the nil beer? I think we're all ready for football season to start tomorrow, so excited for it.

I know our friend TJ Smith, our favorite personal injury lawyer, will be out there tailgating tomorrow. He doesn't miss a good tailgate. What will TJ do? They can pay?

Yeah, you got call him first, Call TJ. They don't make them call TJ.

He won't just do it out there. I guess you have to call TJ. I want to start with some professional news guys. I still work here. I was very excited today when my key card worked. When I got to the building yesterday, felt a little bit of a sabotage going on. You know, we're already down to third stream host I I'm just sitting at the end of the bench with my clipboard, never thinking i'd get called up. But you know, Matt's away this week. We have Ryan Fell a little bit ill, and then I step in. I feel like we were rolling guys. And then Shannon, what the heck happened there with Dion Walker?

I was hoping you would have an answer, because you know you were there at Chios Bar and grill. I'm back here in the studio over in Louisville. All of a sudden, the equipment just starts making an awful noise. And it couldn't have happened a worst time. A minute into the interview with Dion Walker. And you know what, though, Hey, we salvaged the interview. We got you on the phone. It turned out okay, other than you calling Mark Pope, Mark poop. Other than that, it was great.

Though there hasn't been twenty minutes that I've been awake since yesterday's show that I have gone without thinking about that. Me calling him Mark Poop. It's haunting me, it's living in my head. It's ruining me, Billy.

I will say that was maybe more entertaining than the interview alone would have been with Dion Walker. But also I absolutely loved that your family was killing you in a group chat as the show is going.

On now all my friends. My phone was blowing up. There was some support, there was some keep your head up buddy, you know there's some of those, but it was mostly just getting made fun of.

Or the guy buying me some bourbon after the show because I think you needed a little after that.

I enjoyed that, Shannon. I didn't realize until after the fact that that static went to everyone's ears out. Ok, it was just me, you and Luckett, and then Abby told me, yeah, it was very loud. People probably jogging working out, got their earbuds in. We might have destroyed a lot of ear drums with whatever happened there.

Well, you could thank me for keeping it in the podcast at least part of it. Like it was probably about I don't know closer to ten seconds of that awful noise before I decided, okay, let's just go to break or do something here because we can't keep doing this.

But I kept. I kept about five seconds.

Of it in the podcast, just so you could get the true listening experience of what happened yesterday during KSR.

So I had to write a little blog post about the interview with Dion. You know, we try always take our content right about it. Normally I would listen and write the quotes. I couldn't bring myself to listen this. Yeay one already. Hey, my own voice, Mario knows he's been riding with me in an Ada'll come on. I'll reach up and slap the mute or knock my radio off. But yesterday I could not listen to it. So I still don't even really know what Dion Walker was saying or what I was saying. Billy. Was there a takeaway? Do we get anything out of it? We talked a little basketball, because I at least messed up the coach's name.

No, actually, I don't have a takeaway. Besides you just trying to keep the boat afloat.

It means it was a good interview.

Yeah.

Absolutely, Well, I'm glad we moved on from that. I said, we have a fun show today. We want to hear about your plans for tomorrow, whether it's tailgating or going to a bar. Maybe you're going to KS bar pregame shows there at three thirty. We'd love to see you. Maybe you're just sitting at home with a couple of friends. Let us know what that's going to look like, and then Shannon will absolutely pick it apart and that'll be a good time.

That's right, that's right. Hey, Can I provide a quick little update on our friend Ryan Lemon?

Yes, Actually I meant to ask you that I'd very rude of me. How's Ryan doing?

So? I talked very briefly with him yesterday.

He's still dealing with some of the effects of vertigo, but he says he's at about seventy five percent, so he's getting better. He's not quite there just yet. I know that he wants to be a part of the pregame show tomorrow. I don't know what he's going to feel like tomorrow, so that's still up in the air. But the good news is he is feeling better. So I was glad to hear that yesterday.

Yeah, good to hearing he's on the comeback. We're hoping to se him tomorrow. If not and he can, we'll be fine without him and hope see him next week. No show on Monday, right later day.

Weekend, no show on Monday. We'll have a best of Shannon. Did you happen to get an update on if the speakers are still blaring Darius Rutger throughout the neighborhood.

I haven't gotten an official update, but I'm just going to assume, just for the entertainment of the show, that Darius Rucker and the speakers in the backyard of Ryan Limit are still at full blast, still going. I'm just gonna assume that right now. I don't know that's true, but I would say there's a good chance. There's probably a seventy five percent chance that's going on.

It's not really on my way home, but that might be worth taking a lap out that way and see if he's still be lasting the sound. It wouldn't shock me because I know I don't think he's been there as he's been trying to get better. We missed Ryan last night, Shannon. There's an event that He's a big part of we go every year. It's a local organization called Thursday's Child. Their mission is to recruit adoptive parents like our own Ryan Lemon, and then support the children that are waiting and then provide post adoption support after that. I've been to this event like five or six times. Freddy's very involved. Ryan couldn't make it last night. We missed him, but it was their big annual Night of the Stars fundraiser in Lexington. Was at the Campbell House. Had a tropical theme, so I got to wear my Hawaiian shirts that we all know I have hundreds of. And they had so many stars. Shannon there was, There was Tom Hammond, Tom Leach, our friend Jeff Pikoro was there and then one of the other one of the stars at the end of the program, Billy Rutlige.

Oh really Billy Reilly.

Billy Rutledge was one of the stars in the Night with the Stars fundraiser with Thursday's Jobs.

Did Billy get up and make a speech or anything or what happened? Billy?

No speech, but I did get the invite, uh you know back at the pack, I did stand up and the do the wave to the crowd.

You had a great wave. You asked me when we got there, what is this you know, first time or your rookie needed to see the ropes? I told you, just give a great wave. That was like a pageant esque wave.

Well, thank you. I've been practicing in my house waiting for these moments like this. I did feel very out of place being called a celebrity host because there was quite a few there, and like you said, they were announcing people like Tom Hammond, Tom Lee and Billy which.

One of these doesn't belong?

One guy stood up.

He was a true American hero, a double amputee that also went blind.

Matthew Bradford, friend of the program.

There announcing, you know, blogger Drew Franklin and UK Sports Network producer of Billy R Sports. So it was I felt a little out of place, but the Hawaiian shirt theme I think settled me down a little bit.

I didn't love being in between Matthew Bradford, a patriot and a hero, and Tom Hammon. I wish they had just not said me at all. Did you write your own bio? I noticed your bio had had a lot of meat in there. You know, I think yours was longer than Tom Hammond's.

Was that not surprise me?

They were like, we need an introduction for you. I was like, oh, okay, I'll take this moment to really really put the resume out there. So maybe it was a little longer and included GM of Casey.

Everyone at my table went Did they just say the general manager of Kentucky Sports Radio.

Did it also say like he hosts the postgame show along with his co host Matt Jones?

Did it say that?

But I did co host of the pre show and UK Sports Network game day producer and you know somebody you would call in a pinch. But you know what.

I miss I missed half of his stuff. I went and got a drink as they got halfway through it when I came back, So I don't know what was in the middle there. They might have might have named the postgame Show.

Yeah, but a big thank you to Freddy Maggert who initially extended the invite to me. Unfortunately I missed him yesterday, but it seems like a great event and hopefully they'll have me back. Had a lot of fun with you last night, drew.

Lots of fun and now you're officially a Lexington star Lexington, Well, because we were there dancing to a little conquer public music, you know, getting in the buffet vibe.

But your dad's a big fan.

He was. Mike Franklin was there too, He's the real star. We missed a little bit of the football. But did you catch someone you got home? Billy? I did?

I did.

I saw the struggle that Colorado went through to beat an FCS team. Boy, I may be wrong about my prediction with Dion Sanders. This might be a struggle of a year to get to six and six. Bobby Petrino's back with Arkansas putting seventy on on Arkansas Pine Bluff. So I did get to watch a little bit of the games. What about you?

Yeah, off the end of Colorado North Dakota State, I wasn't really going to be that interested until I saw that North Dakota State was leading at halftime, So of course you have to tune in.

Uh.

Basically, what I saw that Travis Hunter. That dude's unreal. That catch he made with a little over a minute or whatever.

It was playing both sides too. I mean, the guy nobody does that anymore, and he's a special talent. There's no doubt about that.

Is uh shdua Sanders with four hundred and fifty yards and four touchdowns. But really all we all wanted to know what Dion said after the game. He of course had a little rant since some of eure upset we got the W some of you really mad we didn't get the L. You have to wait till next week. Maybe I guess he's calling an L next week? Is that what that means? Maybe?

You know he's been calling out a lot of media members lately. Like a CBS affiliate tried to answer her question, he's because I know I don't answer questions with CBS. You know, I think he's he thinks he's bigger than the program. I think a lot.

Aren't the Wade twins there at Colorado that they're not even on the Did I say they weren't even on the depth chart at Colorado?

They're on the roster, but they didn't make the two deep depth chart, didn't play any snaps last night. They've got Keaton who was a linebacker here listed as a defensive end, and then Destin who was the backup quarterback here. They have like six quarterbacks and there's not a worst opportunity for playing time behind Dion Sun there.

I felt like at one point Dion knew the spread of the game because it was like first and ten and North Dakota had one time out and he's throwing the ball.

It was a bad play. Well, they almost lost because of it. North Dakota State had a hell mary at the end and caught it and just got stopped at the four y reguardless or open a winner. Shannon, what do you make of Dion kicking a reporter from the Denver Post out of press conference and says he's not allowed to ask questions? This is the Denver Post. Yeah, the local newspaper is not allowed to ask the coach of Colorado questions after games.

So you're gonna have to help me out here.

Was there like some sort of history between Dion and this guy, Like, what's the reasoning behind that?

The guy was critical, but nothing absurd, nothing too crazy. I think Dion just pretty thin skinned. But he said you're not allowed to ask questions. Fine Bomb called it the move of disgrace, and now Dion's taking shots at Fine bamb. Do you worry might be a little too soft for the job.

I think that is extremely soft.

I mean, as we've talked about, these coaches get paid millions of dollars absurd amount of money to fee able to take criticism.

That is part of the job.

If you can't take, you know, a little negativity every now and then, especially when you just stumble through week one and get your first win since October of twenty twenty three, you deserve criticism.

So I think it's extremely soft for him to kick him out.

I feel like this guy's gonna fail upwards, though, you know what I mean, Like he could go you know, four and eight and get a job in the NFL next year. They showed a graphic of like the impact of him at Colorado, the millions of dollars that have come in, the season ticket prices that have been up. It's been pretty I guess, not alarming, but eye opening that what he's brought to that program. But at the same time, you can't be doing that to the media members. You're gonna get a bad rap really quickly.

He survived a scare last night. Their defense is pretty terrible. They've got the receiver Jimmy Horn Junior. He had like two hundred yards. It's basically him Travis Hunter and Sanders carrying that team with the offense. I'm the same token as Dion. You got Dabbo now saying no no callers on his college.

Taking him soft?

Yeah, I mean, come on the heck is that yeah from Spartansburg, right, that's right. He went on that big rant when when Tyler called in and was questioning why we're paying our coach, uh this absurd amount of money to go out and lose, and then he got just I don't know, like he just went on a complete rant against the fans and for people for questioning his decisions and the money that he makes.

I think it's a fair question. But man, extremely soft can't.

Do that here. What would Bob and Jamestown do with his Monday nights if he couldn't call the coaches show? That's that's it's one of the stars of the coaches shows both sports.

Yeah, and you got to think these coaches are already getting the call screened by some people back in the studio, so you're already not getting the toughest of tough questions or people that are really upset. But I don't know, it's just another move by Dabbo. The name image of likeness of God instead of nil the not take being a single transfer portal player. Maybe another guy that feels like he is above the program, like Deon Sanders.

I was just told Keaton Wade is out for the season with an injury. That's why he's not participating at Colorado. But he's he's got a bright future that so I wish he had stay here. Unlike Dion and Dabbo, we would love your calls and questions and comments. We especially want to hear from you about what you're gonna be doing tomorrow. We're gonna hit you with some honesty, might recommend you make some changes, or we might say you have the perfect setup. But we want to know how excited you are and what you have lined up to watch Kentucky versus Southern Miss tomorrow night. Call us on the Clark's Pumping Shop Fine Line phone line at eight five nine to A two two eight seven. Is this KSR. We'll be right back. I love a little walk of Flaka in the morning. Grove Street playing here. This is Kentucky Sports Radio. As we're looking forward to tomorrow's game, we want to hear from our callers today on the Clark's Pumping Shop phone line eight five nine to A two two eight seven. We want to know what your Saturday plans look like, and we're gonna give it a little grade. Make sure you got everything A line got everything in order for the best experience for the season. Open a few more notes from last night talking about Thursday night football. There were a lot of shutouts, Billy lots of shutouts.

There was Missouri took care of Murray State. Like we mentioned, Arkansas took care of Arkansas Pine Bluff. Not a single point scored against the SEC teams last night. I did want to bring up the Steven F. Austin game. Probably not a lot of people watched it.

I did not.

They were playing North American University.

I missed it.

You missed it.

I didn't even know that was I guess they got the entire continent.

They couldn't even score a point, right, that's right.

You think they've recruited a little better. Yeah, but they Stephen F. Austin was up seventy to zero at halftime. Who and because these are two FCS schools, they decided to shorten the quarterlinks to five minutes in the third and fourth quarter because the game was such a blowout.

This isn't pee. You can't just change the rules.

Yeah, you could do that, And then that's that was the first for me seeing that in college football.

What was the team that was down that.

Bad North American?

What if I had North American to cover and you just took a way my chances for them to come back.

I mean that's true. I mean they were up. They were down seventy to zero at halftime, and after the two five minute quarters the game ended seventy seven to seventy North Americans in Stafford, Texas.

But seventy he said, seventy seven to seventy.

Seventy seven to zero. Yeah, that's right.

That sounds like a fun game. I hate that I missed that one. Also, our friend John Sumraw at Tulane fifty two to nothing against Southeast Louisiana. But I'm bringing up that up not because they won fifty two to nothing in his first game there, big Sumrow fan. He said after the game that the team sucked in the spring and that he was living in practice. Even after this fifty point win. He claims that Tulane didn't play great, and he made it clear that he's happy with the shutout, but they better get really better, get better, really fast if they want to keep winning games. How about tearing your team down after winning fifty two to nothing. You've fair or foul?

Bill?

Oh, I love it. That's fair. That's a that's a Nick Saban move if I've ever seen one. Him screaming at Alabama when they played Western Kentucky a few years ago when they were up twenty eight thirty five points. I mean, that's That's the sign of greatness in a coach, is doing the little things right. And John Summer all the next head coach at the University of Kentucky.

Oh, Colin shot there. I wouldn't hate that, Shannon, I feel like you would. You would support Summer just telling his team how bad they were after winning fifty two to nine game next week against Kansas State so they could be getting ready for that.

I understand the strategy.

I've just always wondered how a coach can do that with a straight face without laughing. When you beat a team, what fifty two to nothing, and you still have complaints about it.

I mean, I guess there's always, you know, a room for improvement.

But I mean, not not much when you beat a team by that much.

So yeah, I like it. I like the strategy. It is kind of silly, though.

I mean, if that's what it takes to get your guys ready for next week, then then so be it.

Now Dan's not doing that.

He's praising his guys.

Yeah, when he's telling everyone else it's not his son. Another one from last night. Minnesota had a chance to beat North Carolina missed a game winning field goal try from forty seven yards of time expired. So not all shutouts, but I have one complaint from watching Week zero and then a little bit of last night's games. Well we got this year. College football has added a two minute warning, just like the NFL. It's pretty good, right. We like that. It's a little more TV, a little more commercials, I guess, but you know, your offense gets an extra time out if you're moving. It's fine. Gets the pros in college on the same page. But college football has made it clear that it's not a two minute warning, it's a two minute time out, and they've basically told broadcasters and everyone to not call it a two minute warning. Are you gonna call it a two minute time out or a two minute warning? Now because I'm calling it a two minute warning. I grew up with a two minute warning. Yeah, it's baked in my head that it's a two minute warning. You know, we've seen a lot of changes at the college game, and one of the most noticeable ones is the clock not stopping after a first down unless it's under two minutes.

So I guess that is a good marker for that rule change. But no, I don't think I'm changing the lexicon for that yet.

Yeah, Shan and me, it just seems absurd. I mean, it's a two minute warning, that's what we all know it has, and they've put their foot down. I think they'll even throw you out of the stadium if you say two minute.

I was gonna say, like, what's the repercussions If you're the announcer and you say two minute warning. We know it's a two minute warning. That's what we've all known in the history of football. So I guess what college football trying to be a little different, trying to let everybody know this is not a two minute warning, it's a two minute time out, same concept, it's two minute warning.

Sure is no let's get these callers and I'm ready to find out what everyone's doing tomorrow. And here you're all's greats. Bless you, Mario.

Here's your three minute warning until three minute warning right now until break, just to let you know.

Okay's three minute time out. Sorry, time out coming up and three minute gets kicked out here Mike.

What's up?

What's up? Gentlemen? How are you this morning? On what we would refer to as football ease in the Bluegrass?

I love it happy football are so yes.

And likewise, if you get bored at nine o'clock in the morning, you can come join our tailgate. That's when it will start, and we'll be doing three meals tomorrow. We'll do some bacon and eggs for breakfast. We'll be doing some hot dogs and hamburgers tool much and all day long will be slow cooking a pork tenderloin with some potatoes and some other side fixings. We will have some adult beverages ready, and two TV's going on because you can't just watch one game at a time because you're constantly flipping back and forth, so we'll have two TVs going and it'll be college football overload all day long. We'll have the side walls up on the easy up, so it can rain sideways and it won't matter. We'll stay dry. So we'll have a place for you to come. We will be on the corner of University and Cooper, right beside the big tree in the porter potty where the parking garage is. We're the only ones there. Come see us, all right.

We appreciate the call. And you can't see me right now, but I have a tear in my mind because that sounds beautiful. Three meals in one tailgate, Billy.

That's a good start to the callers with their tailgate setups. They're going to be out there early, ready to go. I think that's going to be the best part about it. Late kickoff is that you get the whole day to get ready for your games.

It's why we're blessed to have this seven to fifty five start. Anyone that does a good breakfast at their tailgate, that's a winning tailgate. I don't mean someone shows up with local donuts. I mean we like our local donuts. There's lots of good options. But when you're out there making bacon an eggs at a tailgate, you're doing it right. Shannon, do you have anything you want to pick a part about that. I feel like you might be our uh our Simon Cowell of the Judges here.

No, I mean I would actually like to be there at that tailgate party. I mean he has two TVs going, which I'm a big fan of. I don't like the picture and picture. Are you guys pro picture and picture when you're watching games? Do you like that where you divide your TV up into like three or four different boxes and you're trying to watch multiple games.

Well, I'm very loyal to YouTube TV, and they've just added the four screens.

Okay, I actually turned it on last night.

I don't know if my brain is quite ready to be there. I thought it would be cool when they announced it, I was so excited, But when you're actually watching it, it's it's a little bit overloading.

Yeah, I prefer two TVs like that guy's got like Mike has, so Yeah, I'm with you.

It's it's century overload.

When you got like four boxes on one TV and you're trying to keep up with four games at once, it's almost impossible.

Well, let's hear who's up next. I'm interested to see what else is going.

Yeah, your three minute break's coming up here. A three minute time out.

I think I'd be better at hosting after yours.

You can't see anything in there.

We'll be right back after this break. TJ.

Smith personal injury attorney, call TJ.

He'll make them pay.

Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio present it by Stockton Mortgage.

Here's Matt Jones.

It's not Matt Jones. It's Drew Franklin here on KSR, and we're looking forward to Saturday game day for Kentucky. They play Southern Miss. It's seven fifty five pm on the SEC Network, where the friends Tom Hart, Jordan Rodgers, and Cole Kubrick on the call. Before we get back to our calls to learn more about what people are doing for the game, I want to tell you about Court Physical Therapy. People want to brag about their tailgating setups or their party setups, whatever they're doing. Let's just keep running through these.

Who's up next, Let's go Logan's up next?

Logan, what's your Saturday look like?

Man?

I tell you what, this is just the best time of year because as a Cats fan, you can, you know, say you're going twelve and zero and nobody can prove you wrong yet.

So we're super excited about the season.

And I think the defensive line is going to be one that we remember. I think the big blue walls back is just on the defense.

And as far as a tailgates.

Go, we got a.

Big blue Nason crew that gets together every Saturday for the catter Day and we're gonna have some pork belly poking all day with.

Go ahead.

No, I was just I was I was enjoying.

I'm getting hungry and and here here, here in the Western Kentucky, the Kentucky Blue Light beer has made its way over here. No, we may, we may try to, uh you know, test out the shotgun theory if if the case arises. So uh no, man, this is the best time of year, you know, to be a college football fan. Like I said, you can make any prediction you want. Nobody can prove you wrong.

Yet. All right, well, we appreciate it.

I think we have a great team, Go Cats.

We appreciate that enthusiasm. And uh, let us know your Saturday plans. Sounds like I have some fun in Western Kentucky. I confirm those beers or shotgunable. Not encouraging it, but it's been done before, and that sounds like a falling billy, it does.

Are you gonna be doing show me your tents with country Boy again?

I am.

I'm gonna be wondering the tailgates? You know. Game days are long days. As you know, you you live in the iHeart studio all day long. I go straight from pregame to do a little video, then the game, then we're gonna do some postgame video. So looking forward to.

There's nothing like just roaming around from tailgate to tailgate to sample a little food because I feel like that's that's maybe the best part of the tailgates, is the different type of foods out there.

I'm looking forward to it. Let's hear who's up next to what they have going on?

Cody, what's up?

What's up? Fellas?

We're just heading up from Louisiana, left about three thirty this morning, just coming up to enjoy and be at Munston for the first time. Gonna shotgun as much an io bere that we can get us a blue card or get us a five star quarterback. I'll probably just a shotgun until we get one.

You're part in moderation. Do it in moderation, please.

We just wanted to know pretty much. You know, Mike helped us there with the with the tailgate, and we'll definitely come hit up Mike, but we just wanted to know, you know, what does the daily look like for you know, a first fan, first time.

Fan coming to the game. Oh, we'll let you We'll let you know that. I appreciate the call. Awesome, they're coming from Louisiana. Yeah, we have this is already an ward for the longest travelers we're gonna hear from today, but I think he has a plan. Just show up, wonder around. Maybe we'll tone down the shotgunning talk for legal purposes. Everyone drink responsibly. But yeah, go check out many tailgates as you can see the cat walk. Is it five thirty?

Not sure?

Five thirty. I'm saying five thirty, sticking to it. Don't correct me if I'm wrong. Over at Gate one or I believe it even runs to Gate twelve over there on Talbot Way, So you don't want to miss your first cat walk. And I would just say roam around because there's gonna be a lot of enthusiasm out there. Tents have been up for months. You can make a whole day out of it. Or of course, come to Chaos Bar. We'll be doing the pregame show at three thirty. You could work that into we expect to have a fun crowd there.

That's what I was gonna say. Chas Bar and Girl is always rocking when it comes to those pregame shows and even postgame shows when Matt decides to wander back over there after a big win. But let's you know, fingers cross that equipment works tomorrow the best time.

Don't give me anxiety. We're having a good morning. I don't want to think. I don't look backwards, I look forwards. Billy, who's up next?

Let's go to Andy?

Andy, tell us about your Saturday.

Hey, you know I'm heading up soon to the show's over, gonna come up check into the room this afternoon. Well, well, you very much know what my Saturday is. I'm coming to Ksvor and Grill. I probably won't come over till about one thirty or two before we check out the first half of the noon games over the room, and then just come to the bar for the whole day.

Which game are you most excited about before you walk into Kentucky versus Southern miss any of them? You're you've got maybe a little well wager on on DraftKings.

Yeah, I've done a couple of parways, so I kind of agree with you on Florida against Miami. I kind of did that when on Wednesday I figured I'm gonna do my parlays each Wednesday.

That's the best time to do those.

I got. I got a couple of three teamers out there right now. Go on. But I'm ready to get over there and get starting. Yeah, probably head up this afternoon, but since I'm right across the streak from the bar, it's gonna be there all day tomorrow, not popping them. Still the kilt this afternoon.

Oh, you just stayed with us. We like told the kill. But we're excited to have you. We appreciate the call, and we're looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.

All right, see tomorrow man.

Yeah, hopefully we have a little Ryan Lemon there too, Just to rehash that. The pregame shows at three thirty ks Bar and Grill Billy.

All right, three thirty.

Andy will be there, hopefully Ron will be there, Matt will be back from Bailey, Colorado. I'll be there. Five thirty is the catwalk Gate one to Gate twelve. From six to seven. I'll be roaming around in the game at seven fifty five. Did you know that this is the one hundred and forty third season of Kentucky undred and forty third. Yeah, that's a lot.

It's a lot of football if.

You're out there.

Roman.

They have the first three editions of the New Posters series. You can get the one with Brock and the quarterbacks, the wide receivers and the running back posters, Billy, you want to grab you a poster? I know you're stuck in here at iHeart kiss all.

This stuff on these walls here in the studio. I'd love a little decoration in here, just besides the Twinkie box that's been sitting in that corner for.

What's things like kids golf set sitting in here in the box? Do you get that board? You get a putt? I know Matt's not putting, so that's gotta be you.

Well, I thought I was going to bring in like a little a putting green, but that is not a putting green. That is like the old It's not the evil can Eevil jumping ramps thing, but it's actually a little guy that has a miniature club and then you have to push the thing and then he hits the ball.

I have not played with it like a wild time.

But Steve Lewis, thank you for the gift.

Our producer just butted in my ear and said, we have a special.

Callers supposed to call him special, like I don't want him to really think he's special, party, he's kind of special. I guess Tom Hart, what's up?

You can't stay away from? Can no, no, I'm in orbit.

I'm in your orbit totally. I was just calm to give you my setup for the game. You know, you didn't ask, so I just wanted to call in as a caller. Let you know, like, I'll have a bunch of monitors set up, most of them just on the Kentucky game, but we might have a TV in the corner on the Notre Dame A and M game. Probably won't tailgate, but I'll be there early enough to tailgate, and then you're gonna watch the game with some buddies.

Have some pretty good seats, Yeah, pretty.

Good, like right at midfield. So I'm really excited. No matter what happens, I'll be dry. So I'm confident about that. Some of my buddies are out in the elements, so they may end up getting wet.

Yeah, yeah, I might get their hair wet doing that. Being a night game, you know it's going to keep you up a little bit late, a little bit later than you're normally used to. What is what is your fuel? I know you can't partake and what these callers are saying, but you're a coffee guy or what does Tom keep on? That's a great question.

You know, I've gotten kind of addicted to those Celsiest energy drinks lately, so probably have a couple of those in the booth. Maybe peanut butter jelly sandwich at halftime, like whatever, whatever I.

Need to keep the energy up.

Do you think, Drew, do you think the game is going to be close?

I do not think it's gonna be close. Maybe I can somewhere around halftime, I'll bring you some some of that good Kroger Field media room food, and I'll already be tuned out and looking forward to the after party. That's that's perfect. Maybe some kroger Field barbecue let me get you. Yeah, yeah, bring it over.

Let me let me enter into a pork coma in the sometime in the third quarter.

That'd be perfect.

Did I see that they're also going to be serving the rupp Arena ice cream at Kroger Field.

Did you see that, Drew?

I saw that.

Yeah, you saw that. Tom. Yeah, that's a I think that's a thing.

I had to check that make sure it wasn't like a fake news horse, but I think they're actually gonna have the rough ice cream at Kroger.

Field, and we can bring it over to you, like Jay Ellis, Tom.

Yeah, No, that's that's a Billis thing. Like I've been pitched that before. That's not my thing. Like I'm not a coattail rider. Okay, I mean I'll have some. I'm not afraid. I'm not lactose intolerant. But I am also not going to go on camera with it just because Billis does it? Like let him have his stick?

What's one thing from Kentucky you would like to be presented at a game? If you've eliminated ice cream? But can we get you one of our nicest hot browns? Or would you like a pony? What would be your gift from Kentucky if you could pick one?

If I can't get a pony, and I don't know if he would fit in the overhead compartment, I'm gonna repeat what I said before. I think if somebody wants to present me with a bottle of Pappy for the you know, post game or the you know, take it back home with me, I.

Would not argue.

You know, if we come in listen, if we come in anywhere underneath that, I'm still gonna be happy.

Yeah, Billa settles for ice cream, Tom marl of Pappy.

Maybe somehow surprise you. Well, I'm gonna name you are Don Franklin Otto call the day. We have appreciate you from hearing from you.

Tom.

Do I get a car?

We'll work on it.

You know you just get bragging, right, Papy a car?

What else can we do for you? But you keep asking. I'm gonna keeping well, it's good to hear from you. We're looking forward to hearing from you for a couple of hours tomorrow night during that game. Good luck with everything, and I'll see you around the press box.

I hope it don't get two sideways. I might be as dizzy as Ryan Lemon by the end of it.

He's on the man. I think it's I'm gonna go fair.

It's okay, I'll plant it. I'm uncomfortable. Thanks, fantastic, Thank you. Good to hear from you.

Tom Atlanta right there, Tom, gentlemen, Yes, you know it.

Was nice enough. He did the whole summer. Now you know he finally gets done with his summer assignment. We've heard from him twice in three days.

Yeah, I love it. Tom's ready to go. I don't know if he's going to get that Pappy's, but he's trying. I think he's calling in just to hint around for Pappy channel. Let's get one more in before we go to break. All right, let's go to Kendall.

Kendall, thanks for calling in.

Got okay. We got to work on your phone connection, Kendall.

I think Kendall's is trying to interview to you on Walker right now with that phone.

Yeah, that ain't gonna work. All right, Kendall, try again.

I think you're you're in an elevator. We're just something's not working there. It's on your end. We'll try again, but we'll take a quick break. Hopefully Kendall's on the other side of it. We want to keep hearing from other fans who are excited for Saturday on the Clark's Pumpet Shop phone line at eight five nine two eight oh two two eight seven. Let's go to Keith.

Keith, Thanks tell us about your game day now.

First off, Dree, you've done a great job last three day, so thank you.

I appreciate that.

Yeah, uh, you've asked the question about when we put our trailers and stuff out. Usually we do ours the last weekend in July, first week in August. We've been tail getting the same spot for TI twenty years. July fourth weekend in the blue lot. The only place that was taken was my spot, so I had to put my stuff out right next door on I know it's first come, first serve, but it's like, okay at all the places you had to pick. But so at my tailgate trailer, I've got two TVs and the tailgate trailer our own private porta potty. And this weekend we have got some smoke balooney that we're gonna be doing eating on all day long. We've got four rocks of ribs that's gonna go up for dinner with along with a pork shoulder for some barbecue. And so I think today, yeah, well shot the call.

That sounds like a great setup.

I heard something he said there that no one else has said so far. They have their own private.

Porta potty exactly which is a great addition right for any tailgate.

The best money I've ever spent in my entire life was on a porter potty, not not the engagement ring. It was the greatest investment ever. I was on a bachelor party in the Talladega Infield. Okay, I cannot say I recommend it, but we all got out alive. But when we first got there, they were driving around with the truck and you could rent your own for the weekend, and we all threw in one hundred bucks each something like that. Best decision ever made. I'm just seeing the scene of the Talladega Infield and having our own safe space, best money ever spent. So the caller's name, I've already forgotten it. He is doing it right at Krogerfield Billing.

I'm envisioning a bachelor party at the Talladega Infield. That is not great next level, but to get a private porta potty, I think would was probably your best man.

There was like ten to twelve of us, and we made a pact like everyone, keep it clean, keep it spotless. No no one gets to run up and use it. This is our own little palace. And it was worth every penny because Talladega. It's a man's gotta want it out there in Talladega infield for a couple.

Of nights the nil beer streaming, and then you start streaming pretty constantly after that.

They like getting up in the morning and showering with a bunch of strangers with no water pressure and some big on creet block in the middle of the infields. Great time, Shannon.

Yeah.

And by the way, Tom Hard, if you're still listening, we've already got somebody tweeting us. And you, uh, with your bottle of Pappy van Winkle, I mean.

Asking you shall receive? Right? Life is good? And you're Tom Hart.

You just get on the air and say I want a new car and I want Pappy van Winkle and we don't. We don't have the car for you yet, Tom, But somebody already has your bottle of Pappy.

I see what the heck? I want Pappy too, I don't want.

Is that how this works?

We just get out here and say I want a million dollars and somebody goes, oh, here you go.

Yeah, let's just all put out our Amazon wish list. What is going on? How did he pull that off so fast?

I don't know. But it's already it's already there. There's a picture of it on Twitter.

Congratulations Tom, Who's up next, Shan.

Let's go to Adam Adam.

What's say y'all doing? We're great, doing good.

We're over here, barts down, Kentucky. Usually listen to the podcast, but but uh seen Mario tweet saying Colleen take that set up. So I figured i'd give a little call for the first time.

Let's hear it. Who by the way, thanks for calling in.

Oh yeah, appreciate it.

Didn't know i'd get that.

It's mad ain't here. But uh so, let's start off the morning. You know, listen to the freach.

I know the free game won't start till you said what three thirty three thirty three thirty listen back, get some burgers going, you know, I'm to do my part, drinking some Kentucky blue light and uh ray watched cat twin tonight Spread's where tomorrow night spreads?

What twenty eight?

It's down to twenty seven.

You can go ahead and write that down at thirty five.

Okay, I'm writing down right now.

There you go.

Well, we appreciate the call, going.

With appreciate it. I appreciate it.

Oh, thank you. Good to hear from you. And that's having a first time caller. I don't know if you heard that, Mario. He said he doesn't listen live normally, but saw your tweet. Look at the social media.

Working to Mario's making on this show.

Yeah, we got time for another sending we do.

Let's go to Kentucky gas van.

Oh this should be fun. Gas man. Do you have your own porta potty? You should?

I do not, but I come out on New Circle today delivery and gas and diesels with people and the horse farms and listening to you guys on the radio. I'll tell you what. I really appreciate you guys, and you make my two hours a day for well three hours of da I listened to the pre show a lot too go by, and I really appreciate what y'all do. But the question I had is that I didn't know if you was going to ask this question that you're asking today next week or not. So I wanted to get in on it real quick. Me and two of my friends have got tickets to this South Carolina game next week, and we're definitely going to take you in. The gonna come back TSR Bar and I don't know, and I know it's a different time the game this next week. But my question really is about the tailgating. I've never really done the tailgating at the at the stadium. I've always seen all these tents and stuff up, you know, and I'm figure their private stuff. What recommendmendation do you have?

Uh?

You know, I know I've seen something about Kroger, something that if you bring a thirty or thirty five dollars receipts from Kroger, you can come to their tailgat and I'll hang uts to listen.

Thank you. I appreciate the call. I don't know much about the Kroger set up. I can look into that. We'll let you know after this break. We support Kroger great, they do great things. Former courtesy clerk here as I said earlier this week. But yeah, most people have set their tents. They've been out there a long time. And now if you had a parking spot, you could, you know, get there early and maybe put something up. But the ones you've seen, the first come server, first comes, first serve, have been there for months. We're gonna take another break, we come back more phone calls. We're gonna get some fun news around Kentucky. This is KSR.
