Tom Hart sitting from my jones. It is Trew's birthday and we've got Ryan with Drew and Lexington and Mario and Uh and Shannon in Louisville. I posted another another picture I had issue that's been It was a couple of weeks ago, but I thought it would be good to discuss. We'll talk about it in a second, but it's on my Instagram. Tommy t M I E H forty four Tommy H forty four. Don't ask me why I spelled Tommy with an I E Tommy I E H forty four. And then we can talk about it. I promise Ryan is it's suitable for all ages.

But uh, there's well your last one I thought might get it kicked off the air. Okay, I see this is your You're blown. You blew out a tire.

I get to travel today because I don't travel enough, So I get to travel from Atlanta to little old Pittsburgh, Kansas. Down in southeastern Kansas. My uncle Joe passed away. He was ninety years old. He was an awesome guy. He had a full life and he loved every second. Other I don't nobody likes funerals. I don't think you know, like it's fun if it's a celebration. But what I've here's my question for everybody, what are the funeral obligations? You know, like it's I'm happy to go and I'll be at Paul Bearer and my brother and my sisters are gonna be there and they have a little bit easier trip. But we our family has come from a big family, Like it's always been oh, this uncle passed away, that uncle, this aunt passed away, and you just kind of, you know, throw a suitcase in the car and go. Ryan, do you feel the same obligation or is it like they're not gonna know the difference. I'm fine.

I'm kind of with you. You know, I grew up in a little town and a tight knit community and you do.

Man.

Even it's just a way you can kind of tell the other family members, Hey man, we're thinking about you, We're praying for you. Guys, hang in there, be strong. It's more for them, I think the so the rest of your family, your your cousins that that was their dad or something, kind of be there for them.

Shannon, you went through this with your grandma. Yeah, did you like after the fact or even while you're going through it, did you take note of who was there? Who wasn't there?

No, no, that you know, in that moment, it's all about the family member who has passed away. I'm not you know, taking role as to who's there and who's not. And I'm not offended if somebody didn't show up. So but I will say though, if you're grieving, it does help to have a large amount of family and friends around you in that moment. But when it comes to like going to somebody's funeral, I kind of take the approach of, Okay, how often did I go see them when they were alive? Because if I just know of them and I never visited them when they were alive, why go see them when they're dead.

That's kind of my approach on that. Is that is that?

Is that?

Is that insensitive?

Is that weird?

Oh? I think it's a great I think that's a great idea. But to what you just said, it's it's really more about their family and their significant others who you get to comfort. So don't you have to extend it? Then said, they're like if your best friend's grandpa died and he was really close with his grandpa. Yeah, you didn't know his grandpa, right, But but as your best friend, you probably go right about the deceased and more about Drew. What do you think I mean, let's talk about funerals on your birthday like you're getting old.

Yeah, I'm gonna extending right here looking at us with the birthday cake, listen to talk about But I'm with I'm with Ryan. I think that was supposed to be a surprise. I'm with Ryan. I grew up in a little town. I felt like my dad three times a week was over at the funeral home. Huh, because that's just what you had to do with So that's way you have to go show your respect, whether it be for the person that passed away, or a good friend or a good family member. I've been to some around here people I didn't know that well. But that's just part of how I grew up. You dain to just go and pay your last respects and give a hug to whoever's there that needs a hug.

Yeah, I'm with you, guys. I could have used a hug after this issue that I just put on my Instagram story. Tommy h forty four, So I was my wife was complaining this happened a couple of weeks ago. Her tires were low, and she's like, can I get new tires? And I said no. And I said no because you're we're gonna buy you a new car this summer. Like your car is done for it's turned into a pizza junk. We're buying a new car either this spring or summer. We're just gonna just let me get through my schedule and I have time to do it. So she's like, well, then you drive my car perfectly fine. So I drove her car, you know, and I traveled so much. I want driving it that much. But I put off getting the new tires. And then it was the first warm day and I would go inflate the tires and they would get low. After a couple of days, I'd go and flate them again. But the service station I went to didn't have a tire gauge, so I just kind of had to eyeball it. It's kind of like a cook and a steak without a thermometer. You're like, I think I got it. So I'm out running errands. I come back. I parked the car outside the house because I'm leaving that night to go on a trip and I'm in the house getting ready and there is an explosion. It is so loud. It sounds like kids dropped like m eights in the sewer. Right. We live on a cul de sac. It brought everybody out of their door. What is going on out here? And it turns out that the tire two hours after I drove, the tire just exploded and it blew off like the coverage of the quarter panel. It pushed the quarter panel away from the car. That's how loud and powerful the explosion was.

I looked that picture. It looks like you ran over an active chainsaw. I didn't know you could do that much damage to attire.

It had. It was sitting there for like two hours. It didn't even happen when I was driving. It was so Now I've got to do the thing I really despise. Now I've got to buy a new car. Well, I got and I hate buying cars. Like there are things we do in life that we do every day and we get really good at. Like, for example, I'm really good at navigating airports. I do it four six times a week, all right. It might be a challenge for some if you only travel once a year. It's easy for me. I know what I'm doing. How many cars do most of us buying our life? Like you go once every I don't know, six eight years, maybe longer. Like, I'm really bad at it and it makes me terribly uncomfortable. Ryan, how do you like? What is your advice for somebody going to buy a car?

I'm with you, I hate it. I hate that negotiation process, even though I do it with when I sell a house. It's something about a car salesman. I don't like it. But yet I have friends they love it. They love that adventure of going to try and negotiate the car prices and stuff. And uh, I'm with you, I I I don't. I don't. I don't like having to go out car shopping and test everything out because the minute you drive it off the parking lot, it's gonna depreciate like it's a it's a bad our. Cars are bad investments. But yeah, we all do it all the time.

The most experienced here, Yeah, all the times he's wrecked his car.

Well, yeah, just don't wreck your car. You won't have to buy it. Boys, I don't mind spending money in a car. I just I just don't want to. I hate the feeling of oh did I did? I just I made this big investment. I just paid too much for it. Like, the best thing is car salesman can say to you is when he shakes your he goes, man, you got and this is probably part of their deal, But you got a really good deal. Man, I can't believe we got you that. Look, we got a really good deal, and it makes you feel good, Drew, Like, I just want to feel good when I leave that day.

My problem is I'm so indecisive. If I go to a restaurant in order food, the moment I order it, I'm like, ah, I should have gotten something else. I regret that. If I'm getting a car, the moment I'm off the lot, I'm already wondering, is this the one show I've gotten something else that will haunt me for a few weeks. I'm like that with anything. That's why I'll never get a tattoo, because the moment I get it, I'm already gonna change my mind about what I should have gotten. Should have done this? Why did you get that? So a big purchase like a car, That one is living in my brain even after the fact, because I'm just so indecisive about things.

Here's what you do, tom You don't ever go in and buy it on the same day, Like you go into a car lot. You negotiate down as far as you think you can get them, and then when they've got a really good deal on the table, you go, you know what, I'm gonna sleep on this.

I'll call you back.

Tomorrow and then you're gonna see just how far they can really go on the price. You see what I'm saying. You don't take it that day, does walk out? Let them know, Look, there's a million other dealerships out there. I don't have to have this car today. Let them think that, and then you can really get a good deal.

That's great in theory, but it is such a time suck. It takes so Like I research every vehicle, I research the competition, like I do all that work beforehand. Then I make in my mind, okay, it's probably what I want if I can get a good deal. If I can't get a good deal, then I'll pivot to this this other vehicle or this other dealership whatever. But they move like molasses in there. It takes so long, yep, to get it done and I think that's their secret, right they want to slow it down. Yeah, and you're like, oh, I got four hours invested here, I might as well just pull the trigger.

Yep, yep.

You also need that person. It's a it's a personality trait. Some people are just sharks. They can go in there and they'll walk out with the dealership. I'm not that person. I'll cave in negotiations. But like, I have a friend whose wife they look at a dealership and employees start quitting, knowing she's about to walk in. They want no part that mom.

Mom that way.

I remember being little, my parents will be buying a car and they'd be like, lady, please just get out of here, take whatever car you want. So some people were able to go in there and win that argument. I've never been that way, but it helps to have a shark in your corner.

Well, I need a new car and I'm not looking forward to it. And that's like, that's the of the things I have to accomplish this summer with my work basically being done. That's that's number one on my lists and I'm I'm dreading it. Shannon, we got callers? Should we go to callers or should go to break.

Let's go to a couple of callers. We've got Ethan up first.

Hey Ethan, what's up? Hey man?

What's up to Honor? Actually to speak Tom Hart. But I just want to wish a big happy birthday to Drew. And you know, I'm a podcast listener. So I've been listening to yesterday's podcast and they were talking about celebrity interactions and I don't know. My wife told me I shouldn't tell his story.

On the air.

If it needs to get dumped, it needs to get dumped, Shannon.

Just get your ready spy.

In this position.

Hi, thanks a lot, man.

So, like five years ago, we were in Orlando and we were leaving a chocolate factory and you know, my brother in law is up here buying truffles, you know, chocolate whatever. We're drunk, it's immaculate, it's awesome. We leave this chocolate factory and we walk out and see Rupert Grant. I know Shannon is not gonna know who that is, you know, because he's never seen Harry Potter. He doesn't care for me Hermione or whatever he said. However, Ron Weasley comes out there, may or may not be a substance on his hand may or may not. That substance quickly disappears and I turned around and I'm like Ron Weasley and he's like, yeah, mate, and I'm like, oh my god. It was the greatest moment of my life now with my celebrity interaction, missed it yesterday.

Sorry, guys, I'm so confused right now and I don't want to ask any questions. Yeah, thanks for the call. That was enlightening. And I drew was chocolate factory euphemism or was he really at a dr factory?

I don't know what was going on there.

I'm with you.

I know I know who Ron Weasley is. Yes, beyond that, I have suspicions of what he said, but I don't know.

There was a lot going on there, chocolate factory stuff on his hand. People outside had drunk tra law truffles.

Anytime Tony mentions truffles, it makes me nervous. All right, Well, Shannon, who's next?

Grover?

What's up? Grover? How are you today?

Hey, guys?

I got a Jerry West story for you that probably find interesting. In nineteen ninety two, UK was playing in the Malay Classic. That's the one Jeff Bresso won the game and the tip end over Arizona. And the second day, I'm sitting there. I had a seat on press row and I looked at my right and who's sitting there but Jerry West. And I've always admired Jerry West. And I said, excuse me, sir, are you Jerry West? He said, yes, yes, I am in your name And I said, is your nickname Zeke from Cabin Creek?

And that is his nickname? He said, where did you hear that?

I said, well, I was a manager for Adolph Rupp and one day in practice some guy took a shot that was unconscionable, might have been a forty footer and Ahoff said.

Well, who do you think you are? Zeke from Cavin Creek?

And Jerry West said, how do you know that's my I said, well, didn't you live on Cabin Creek, West, Virginia. He said, yeah, yes I did, sir. Very few people remember that. And I said, didn't you come in memorial Colisee him in the late fifties and put fifty five points up on UK in the tournament?

He said again, you yours right, son?

I did?

He said, but I've never heard my nickname given to me for the last twenty years. You just brought back memories and and he was so and he autographed everything I had.

He was so nice. But that I remembered his nickname because Coach Trump.

Was using it as a slurer. You know, he really wasn't honoring this kid. He was trying to ridicule him. And Jerry Well said, well, if Adolf Rupp said it, I consider myself really fortunate.

I said, well, go Trump, that's what he called you.

That is an incredible story. Thank you, Thank you for the call, Grover. That's awesome.

That should be to call the day.

Let's make that the Kentucky branded call today. They got all the UK license Baseball College World Series shirts and things online in the store Kentucky Brandon, So that is our Kentucky branding call today. Check them out for all your UK Batcats gear.

They got good Batcats gear, Like I think, I feel like that's the next thing. It's going to take over the town.

I didn't know what to buy. You know, we got super regionals, But what am I going to do with a super regional shirt if you win the next level? So I'm holding off on my purchases you should go get him a Kentucky branded make you just get all the regional super Regional NCAA champion.

Go ahead while you're in there and get that. Hey, listen, we gotta do something. Tom Monique, our general manager, has been holding Drew's birthday since the start of this second.

Since the funeral talk. She's just been looking at me with this lease.

Go get her in there, bring it in.

And we're talking about funerals when I'm like the third base coach both hands up like no, no, stop stop. So but she has made a birthday cake for little Drew.

Look look at that Scott oreos on Oreo birthday So, oh my, that looks wonderful.

That's awesome.

Can I see it on the zoom? Can I see it?

Yeah? Sure, look at this, hold it up.

I don't want it to fall off.

Oh, it won't fall off.

Look at the Oh my, will tweet it out for us to put it out there. So thank you, Monie. Happy birthday, baby Drew. Drew's our baby, you know an now he's thirty nine years old, baby baby.

Gosh, that is amazing.

I appreciate all the birthday love today from everyone.

Oh yeah, we need we need more birthday love for you, like I want you to get every text and every tweet and every DM we could imagine for your thirty ninth year on this earth.

Thank you for that, and the Drew Franklin Beer Special four dollars fifty cents and on your forty fifth birthday craft beer Pine.

Hold on its four dollars and fifty cents. The first time you said it was four.

Dollars, it's four dollars and fifty cents. Fourkus. He's turning forty five.

I swear the first time you said that it was it's gone up fifty inflation.

Man.

It happened over the last hour.

To me.

Fifty's birthday text, Birthday tex That's awesome, Shannon.

Do we have any more callers at the moment?

We do.

We need to get hit a break first, though.

All right, let's hit a break. We'll take more of your calls. Uh. I'm gonna give a rundown on NC State because that's who Kentucky will face this Saturday afternoon at the College World Series. I just saw him. They're a really good team. They're really good. Obviously they're good. If they're in Omaha. We'll continue with all that will continue to wish Drough a happy birthday because it never gets told even though he has. Tucky Sports Radio continues right after this. Tucky Sports Radio continues Tom Hart in for Matt Jones, Shannon, what do you.

Got this segment?

Sponsor buy our friends at Shady Rays stop overpaying for sunglasses. If you're tired of buying expensive sunglasses only to lose or break them, then you need to get Shady Rays. They're an independent American owned company that started right here in Kentucky. They have premium polarized shades for every activity and if you lose or break them, they'll replace them, no questions asked. You see the promo code KSR for fifty percent off two pair or more in store at their flagship location at the Summit at Fritz Farm, or online at Shadyrays dot com.

So Billy worked really hard getting my connection just perfect for today, and it's been fantastic. I've had zero issues, none whatsoever. Yet we go to break and those guys disappear. Ryan, what happened?

We've lost all power here at Chaos Bar and Grill, not just us, all the restaurants along here. The traffic light out in front is out. There's something has happened, but there is no electricity, nothing in this area right now.

We got people in here eating the dark. Freddy Magner just walked in. He doesn't know what's going on.

Other guys, Oh, thank you lost him again, Tom.

They've gone again. You Shannon, you're all over it. That sounds like a very romantic scenario, like dimly lit candle light dinner. I'm more worried about what this does for Drew's beer special, and I'm glad he got his cakes that.

And they got to get it fixed before tonight, because I can't show up in the dark and a Spider Man costume ready to host trivia with no electricity.

It's not gonna work out too well.

I think that's a perfect way to show up. Show up in the dark.

Who's this weird guy walking around in the dark and a Spider Man costume?

Call security perfect?

All right, So maybe those guys will rejoin us, Maybe they won't. I want to give you a quick scout of report on on NC State. That's Kentucky's opponent Day one of the College World Series. Drew went over some of these numbers yesterday and if you look at their overall stats, You're like, how in the world did these guys get here? This is not impressive at all. The middle the pack in the acc in era and runs and home runs and run like everything across the board. Nothing, nothing jumps out at you. But here's what's behind the numbers. They had a series in Louisville. They got swept by Louisville. At that time, they were missing one of their starting pitchers, Sam Hifield will probably start against Kentucky. They were missing key outfielder. I think they were missing an infielder at the time. That was the low water point for them. And then they got guys back. They moved some guys around. I mean, they've been through a lot. They had a center fielder break his leg in an outfield collision, broke it in two places, fibula and tibia. They had lost a picture to Tommy John, They had guys missed other you know a lot of time. So they had to reinvent themselves. And now, after beating Georgia two out of three, they come into Omaha having won something like eighteen out of their last twenty four games. They have been absolutely on fire. They've got veterans They've got a twenty three year old third baseman. They've got a twenty three year old first baseman that both transfer portal guys. They have a major league caliber catcher in Jacob Coozark, and he I think is the most important player going into this single game. He's a great hitter and the numbers offensively are good. He homeward I think three times in Athens this past weekend. But he can shut down a running game, and the way he does it is not just a great arm. He steals strikes from behind the plate. He's one of the best pitch framers in college baseball, and it's really hard to get the ball past him. He blocks everything in the dirt. And think about how Kentucky won the final game against Oregon scoring from second on a wild pitch. When you have a catcher that doesn't allow you to pick up an extra ninety feet and you're an offense that takes advantage of that, I think that is going to be that is going to be the main battle this game, trying to figure out if you could run on them. They've got a six to five center fielder, Eli Serano, hit a big home run, made a catch at defence. Trot Nixon's sons Trot Nixon won the World Series with the Red Sox are on this team. They've got Chase Nixon plays left. They're a very very solid team. But here's the other part of this NC State team that you need to be aware of. They were last in Omaha in twenty one. That was a year after. There was no College World Series in twenty because of COVID, so the NCAA had some very strict protocols in place. As we all know, if you were vaccinated, if you'd gotten a shot, you were fairly well protected and didn't have to test. However, about half of NC State's team did not get the shot, so they had to test regularly. If you showed symptoms, then they tested you even more often. They beat the best picture of the year that year, Jack Glider for Vanderbilt, in a one nothing game. The Highfield kids started that game. They came back the next day and they only had thirteen players. In the next game. I think two days later they played a game with thirteen players and that pitcher played first base and got three hits off of Kumar Rocker. And then they were told at one o'clock in the morning that they were not eliminated by losing but because of the vaccine. So they've got a lot going on in terms of redemption, and that's if you're playing them. It's an interesting story. We'll see if we get those boys back. We'll continue with Kentucky Sports Radio. Right after this. TJ.

Smith, personal injury attorney, called TJ.

He'll make them pay.

Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio. Present it by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones.

Tom mart sitting in for Mett Jones. I've got lights on, TVs on, air conditioning on, my electricity is flowing, Drew. What is going on in Lexington?

Well, all hell broke loose for a minute. We had plenty of people eating. Everything just went dark. Our neighbor is that Hallipinos ran over. Their stuff was out, street lights are out, and someone just showed us a map on the KU website like a lot of downtown Lexton doesn't have power. But as I say that, Ryan and are outside and it looks like our big TV's popping back on, so maybe it's already back. But uh kind of caught us off guard there. We worked so hard to get this equipment working We've had a successful show, you haven't dropped out once, and then downtown Lexington loses power. But I think we're good now, so excited to.

Finish the show with fine, right, great?

Well outside and now when when we came outside town, they were like emergency vehicles up and down Broadway, so we something must have hit a transformer or something. If if all of downtown Lexton was with outpower at one point, hold on.

A second, I have a question. Did you guys put candles and Drew's cake? Could that have been it?

There are no candles, but I will say if the if the power is out much longer, I'm worried about keeping that ice cream cake and ice cream cake. But we have these nice blue Christmas lights wrapped around the entrance to kas bar and they're on back on, so we might be good to go.

Or maybe you just have to like pass out forks and just attack the ice cream cake.

That'll work too. I'm good you know those. How how expensive are the beers now?

They're pints craft beers in honor of Drew Franklin's forty fifth birthday.

The tap still work, so that's not a problem.

Well, how do you ring it?

Up.

Well, that's the problem.

Yeah. I was at an airport one time. Uh it was in where we're we somewhere in Virginia after a Virginia Tech game, and two flights got delayed at the same time. It was the last two flights of Saturday college football season, and they were ready to go and then they stopped. But the guy at the nearest bar left to go restock everything and get the kegs for the next day, and everybody wanted beer. So me and my coworker we just got behind the bar and started selling beer. And they were like eight dollars beer airport beers. We charged everybody ten. We took only cash. We probably sold seventy five beers in The look on this guy's face when he brought the flat truck down the concourse to come back in and he saw his bar pack with like sixty people and he walked in like what the heck is going on? And we said, hey, we've been selling beer for it. Here's you know, seven hundred and fifty dollars. Congratulations. We just took it over like we would give.

Me that a heck of a night. Dude had a heck of a night thanks to you.

Guys.

Yeah, I made a lot of money.

Nice of you to help.

Well, it was it was selfish in nature. We really wanted a beer and we didn't want to be accused of stealings, so we decided it's better to sell and steal with like without a doubt. Shannon, Let's go to the phone line. Who's next?

All right, let's go to Shane.

Hey, Shane, what's going on?

Hey, guys, Happy birthday, Drew, enjoy your day, my friend. Yes, sir, thank you Tom. I'm very grateful to have this opportunity to tell you, thank you so very much. It's Shane Ball. My dad Sam passed away and you guys did the tribute on the Mississippi State game, and I wanted to let you know how much that really appreciated and how it really touched my heart when I saw that come across, because I would have normally been watching the game with him, and it just it just did my heart and my soul. Good Man and friends and family really appreciate that as well, and I'm grateful to have the opportunity to tell you thank you so thank you.

Well, San, You're very welcome. It is what I've learned over the years that what is a ten second mention or thirty second mention on a broadcast is it takes nothing from us to do. And what I love about it it can be so powerful because not only does it reach you and your immediate family whether you watch it or not, but it reaches those viewers immediately. But then people that you know or that know you or hav't spoken to you, spoken to your dad, then they're aware. And it's I don't want to take any thanks for it. It takes nothing to do it, and I know the return on that investment is so great, so I was more than happy to do that and I'm glad we're a chance to speak today.

Thank you so much.

Man.

It meant the world and you are amazing in what you do and BBN loves you so much and really appreciate it.

Thanks guys, Feelings mutual. Thanks for the call, Shannon. Who's next going to Kyle?

Tom?

Just what's going on to I just want to say kind of follow up on that. Tom. You're a great representative of the SEC and you get it with the with the BBN, with KSR. We just appreciate when you're on and I just wanted to call out coach benji On and just the way that he professes his godly nature and how he gives all glory to God in this time an age in this world. To see somebody go on national TV and do that, it's just soheartening. And we just love Coach benji Oe and he's just a great, great man. But one last time I going to get at a couple of years ago, we talked about were more of in the world seats or socks? And that was quite a you know, a lot of big, big debate on how many socks and how many seats there were.

And I've been I've been cleaning.

Up around my house and going through my daughter's room and cleaning us some stuff, and it came to my mind, I've got like seven hundred hangers in my house coat hangers and stuff. But I also probably got about five hundred ink pens and pencils and utensils. So what's more in the world hangers are writing utensils.

Okay, that's a great question. We'll let you hang up and we'll get to that. I need more hangers, Like I run out of hangers, probably because I don't go to dry cleaner as often as I do. Like during basketball season, I'm always picking up my shirts. Ryan, do you you don't ever have you ever bought a hanger?

It's funny. I just bought some hangers from Amazon because when I had to fire up my house, they threw away everything, I mean everything, so I had to buy new hangers for all of our clothes from Amazon. Yes, in the last couple of months, I have.

D you think about this. Ryan buys cars more often than he buys hangers.

Uh, Roan didn't buy a lot of clothes. I think you might even be able to say Ryan has purchased more cars than articles of clothing in the last decade. Is that clothes?

That's very true. I think the last shirt I actually bought for myself was an Alice Blue Gown concert shirt. Good for you. I haven't bought I haven't bought any other shirts before or since then for years.

I mean, we didn't give you one. We actually made you pay for it, didn't we.

Yes, I had to pay for it. It's got to make money.

Too, Alice Blue Gown t shirt. Decide that you you bought to support Shannon. You didn't do it for yourself to have the shirt you wanted to support his band. Correct, when have you just gone to a store and purchased an article of clothing for myself?

Yes? Oh, twenty twenty five years ago.

No, no way, no way, twenty five years ago.

I don't. I have not bought clothes for myself and forever, you know, I had.

Cars to collared shirts, which if you bought more car last twenty.

Years absolutely, yeah, goodness. I think I got three boys that each one of them got a car. The two oldest ones wrecked them, so they got like two or three cars. So yeah, I've bought a lot more cars than I have collared shirts, no doubt.

Our buddy Tim, our buddy Tim gave you a party like its nineteen ninety six shirt.

Right, it's a good shirt.

Oh yes, yeah, Kim Seberger, you're talking about Yeah, the Goose twenty one t's Yes, I had on his shirt earlier this week for the College Baseball World Series, then got one on right now. USA America's Team Cats is a Goose twy because.

You're giving so many, so many shirts that you don't yes clothing.

Correct, Yes, my entire wardrobe has done but free shirts and the shoes I got on were my sons I didn't even buy these shoes.

So my favorite his winter coat he got working at Lax eighteen when Mark Pope was captain of the basketball team.

True, and it's the warmest coat ever and I will never ever replace it.

But I'm curious now because you know, Ryan, you do real estate on the side. When you go to like show a house, you don't show up in a free T shirt to show the house to like potential buyers.

Do you? What? Do you wear some nice polo shirts? That gifts?

Oh okay, yeah.

Get his gifts, you know, Christmas, Father's Day, Birthday, you get some.

You got one out of the barstool office, you got one from Draftking.

Very true. Yes, see, that's a good shirt to wear.

There's some to it, Shannon, Because if my real estate agent is so thrifty that he won't even buy a shirt, yeah, I know, he's probably gonna get me the best deal possible.

You know what.

That's a good way of looking at it.

Yeah, this guy doesn't buy shirt looking all the money you've saved over the years, think what I'm saying.

Yeah, and shoes everything.

Can I tell Tom about when we were touring the house. Yes, our listeners have heard this before, but Ryan was my realtor. He did a great job. He did penny pinch for me. It really helped. But at one point, we're looking at a home and the woman, like most people would do, ask if we'll politely take our shoes off before we tour her home. My wife and I quickly kick our shoes off, no problem whatsoever. We're prepared for this. My realtor, Ryan kicks his off and I see at least three toes sticking out of the your socks, and I'm like, this is this is my real estate agent. We'll work on the socks in the future and see.

My philosophy was tom I'm a sock shoe sock shoe guy, so on my left foot I'd already put on a sock and a shoe my right when I put on the sock and it rips as I'm pulling on. I don't want to take off what I've already done, so I just put the shoe over the rip sock. Figure nobody's ever gonna see it. Sure enough, we had to take our shoes off tour of the house.

So I'm over here asking about house things, and he's got big toe hanging out in the middle of this conversation.

I'm so cheap. I didn't replace at tire and that's a little bit more dangerous than a sock. But one was the sock that when you pulled it on it ripped. Like how old was the sock?

Well, that's compatible. It could have been back from my college days. I'm not for sure.

Were the holes already there? Maybe before possible.

I don't want to be near a sock from your college days.

I well, yoga girl bought me some new socks because she got tired of you guys making fun of my socks. Okay, I actually now have new socks.

How many cars have you bought in your life?

Cars?

Cars?

Cars, yes, cars, Well, Gavin's had I think three, Michael's had three, Sas got one. There's seven just for my boys. I've probably had since I've been you know, since I've been in Lexington, I probably bought five or six. I'd say I'm probably a dozen or or so stuff just this and I've been to Lexington.

That is amazing. That is that those are a lot of cars. That's a big number.

Yeah, yeah, tell me about it. When they keep wrecking cars, you gotta go buy another one like, come on, man, get you get one year out of a car.

He's like, you go cheaper and cheaper though, right, Like, oh yeah, I had a chance at that car.

Yeah, this is where you get this. Yep, yep, yeap. My car guy is his number one customer. My pictures up on the wall when you walk in, number one customer. Here he comes.

That's amazing. That is a fantastic story, Shannon. Anybody else waiting on hold?

Yeah, let's go to Drew.

Hey, Drew, Hey, guys, good morning. I'll make quick. I was in Washington, d C. For a big event and it's the one that the president, no matter who's in office, they come and speak every year. So there's usually a lot of celebrities that are kind of in and out. And I saw this, this line of people, and uh, I saw him from the back. Everybody was wash was taking a picture, and so I was like, you know, somebody famous must be over there. So I snuck around and I looked and there was many pakiau and so I go up to him as quick as I can, and I have my UK sweatshirt on, and so he put his arm around me with took a picture and he says, go Big Blue. Okay. Then about two hours later, I'm sitting at a table for dinner and everybody stood up all of a sudden, and I turn around, looked and the stinking Dali Lama stopped at our table and was shaking hands and stuff. I'm not Buddhist. I didn't know what to do, so I kind of bowed. And I mean that might sound controversial with some, but anyways, I want to let y'all know that I met Many Pakiau and the Dalai Lama in the same day.

You got that going for you, you know, which is nice. Yes, thanks to call Drew. We gotta take a break and I'll be back from more Kentucky Sports Radio right after this.

Is that a fire truck we're hearing in the background? What's going on?

There's so much going on, guys, There's so much happening.

Lexington is armageddon right now. The zombies are walking down Main Street.

I think, what do we think is happening?

Hopefully it's nothing serious, yes, because there have been a lot of emergency vehicles.

But uh, the.

Power's back power. Hopefully everything around us is good too. We look good in here.

Uh, you know, we got a big night to night here tom it's Marvel Trivia Night with Shannon the Dude dressed as Spider Man. Tomorrow, we have a live show. Our only live show in Lexington with the live audience is at the Lex Hotel. That's the new hotel, The Hotel Lex out at the corner of Athans Boonsboro and I seventy five. Everybody comes, gonna get free lunch. I mean, why would you not want to come? You're gonna get free lunch out there. We have a ribbon cutting ceremony, so it should be a lot of fun out there tomorrow.

That sounds awesome. I am not gonna be here next week. I've got something kind of special going on early next week and throughout the middle week. It's gonna preclude me from hosting on Wednesday. Ryan, I'll give you that information. Maybe you can share it on Monday. I know Myron hosts. Okay, maybe you can share that on Monday.

But better be big. If you're not gonna be with us next Wednesday, it better be something big.

Well, I mean I think it's big. I think it's really cool. I you know what, don't tell Drew, but I think I think Drew's gonna like it. I think Drew's gonna be extra excited about it. That's just my my gut feelings.

Can I go where we're going?

Drew?

Are you prepared for your trip? Are you ready to rock and roll?

Absolutely not. In fact, I'm a little stressed out about it. Don't even know what I'm gonna mow. Got things to buy, things to pack, things to figure out, got family coming in, got father's day. But it's all good problems to have. I'll get it going.

You're going to a beach, right, I.

Am going to a beach, hopefully not one with all these sharks swimming around.

No, that's that's your You'll be golden, You'll be fine. That's further up, like.

That's the golf.

Yeah, here's all you need. You need, Like, maybe take one pair of pants. You might go to a nice dinner, right, take one decent shirt, like I know, Ryan, like something that you paid for as opposed to one that where Ian was given.

Some decent shirts, So you gotta rotate.

Go to a second pair of swim trunks just so it can dry out. Or you get a bunch of sand and flip flops and your set. Like that's all you need. The beach trips are the easiest to pack for no.

I agree, if it's in the suitcase, better than winter trips. I'm a little worried about what level of SPF I'll need because I don't know that I've taken my shirt off in the year twenty twenty four outdoors and being in South Beach, I don't think I'm gonna fit in. I expect a major sunburn, but I will be ready to take whatever comes my way.

You need all of it. If you ever think that, like, oh this, we're good with more fire trucks, seriously, what is happening.

This is a lot.

I'm telling you. Lexingdon is lit right now. It's all we have to say.

I'm kind of here goes a tow truck.

I'm I'm afraid truck. I'm afraid to come over there from Louisville later on today. Of all that's going on, we're.

Just getting fired up for Omaha. We're pre partying for Omaha.

You know what it is. There is a welcome party, a sendoff party, like getting ready to start right now at Kentucky Brown Park.

That's actually true. The team is being sent off today.

Off at noon and they fly out like at twelve thirty one o'clock to go to Omaha. So maybe that's what all this is about, Drew.

I went over the my NC state scatting report for Saturday real quick. Just you guys are the power was out at the time, I believe, and I know you went over their numbers yesterday. Their season numbers are terrible, but if you break it down to what they've done since the Louisville Series, they are now I think, twelve and six against top ten teams. They're pitching numbers are much better, their offensive numbers are much better. They just had to kind of reinvent themselves. So I think they're coming in having one like eighteen out of twenty four or something. The numbers could be very misleading, but they've got veteran power hitters on both corners, got a good center fielder, they've got an awesome catcher. And the pitching they're gonna rely on three relievers. That's it. They got three starters, three believers. They're gonna try to keep it tight. So that's my scatting for anything else before.

We have to go Ryan, Happy Father's Day to you, Tommy.

Oh, thanks buddy. Happy Father's day you too.

Thank you and Drew.

Maybe this is your special weekend. Maybe we wish you happy Father's Day next year.

Have happy birthday little baby Jude.

Thank you guys. Fun Show
