Now here's Matt Jones.

Welcome everyone to Kentucky Sports Radio. I'm Matt Jones here live at the Chsbar and Grill. It is Wednesday, May the twenty second, just two more days until my last show here on ASR until August. But we got its wings day here at Chaosbar, which means dollar wings, which means you should come out all day or night because when you're not gonna get a better deal than that any where, and we'd love to have you come out lunches. We'll be here again tomorrow and then Friday in Somerset at Don Franklin Kia.

Is that right, correct, Donkia, Don.

Franklin Kia in Somerset. Got some folks from Nichols, Phil Harrisburg, where are you from? Bartstown? Already here this morning, and it's not raining, it's just kind of you.

Know, spitting.

But the Clark's pumping' chop fulm line is eight five nine two eight twenty two eighty seven. A vision Auto glass text machine is seven seven two seven seven four five two five to four in this distion sponsor by t J.

Smith Love is called TJ will make Them Pay.

Ryan.

Let's go over some stuff here to start really right.

First of all, the UK baseball team is playing at ten thirty this morning against LSU in the first round of the SEC Tournament.

Right.

You know, I am a bracket officionado, but the SEC Tournament baseball bracket is the most confusing bracket. It really has a single elimination for one round, yes, and then it becomes double elimination the next round, which doesn't make a lot of sense to me. But now the eight teams that are left our double elimination. So if Kentucky wins today, they will play tomorrow at four thirty if they lose today, they will play tomorrow again at ten.

Third's am I right about it? That's it correct now?

Because it's coming on here, it will preempt our show in Lexington and Louisville.

Now you know, I don't like that. I know, and it angers me not.

At anyone in particular, just the heavens, right, like why can't they put it on a different station?

But it's on these stations.

So what you will have to do if you're streaming to still hear it is there's another streaming station that's getting everybody goes to Somerset. True, all right, the Somerset station will still run it. And what is that.

Station twelve forty am?

But what's the call.

La WSFC twelve forty am WSFC so at ten thirty or maybe even during the next commercial, just so you're ready you want to move there and if you want to listen to us instead of the baseball game, and we will keep you up to date on the baseball game because it will be on that big screen, right, yes.

Yeah, exciting day for a UK baseball Then you know they after winning co champions of the regular season, opening up playing the conference tournament, looking to get the host probably next week at the NCAA regional, so I'm excited.

For him, almost certain to host. Time told both regionals that's all. UK feels very good that they because you know, clearly the SEC tournament Drew is just like whatever you know to first base, maybe a clown at shortstop, you know, a waterfall, like It's clear they just do it for fun.

So I think it probably won't affect our seating. I hope it doesn't affect seating. Big game today. LSU is a hot team, even though they're eleven seed. I kind of wanted to see Georgia a little more when that one yesterday. A little bit of a revenge game too, because LSU ended Kentucky's year last year in the Super Regionals. That's a big matchup for your first first game in Hoover today.

But the bigger thing is they have to play us.

That's true, you know.

I mean, it's not that we have to play them, it's that they have to play us.

We knocked them out of the SEC two years ago, So a little revenge on both sides.

Yeah, that's exactly right.

So that so if you want to come over and watch the show, the game will be on as well, and then as soon as show's over, will turn the sound on and you gave you can watch the game.

What to Day, Dollar Wings Day and watch UK Baseball.

Amps see Lawson's Last Day Shadowinness. Oh, Mario was wearing the ugliest shorts I've ever seen in my entire life, and so it's perfect.

I do have a very serious question for you. Okay, I'm kind of concerned right now.

What's that?

Where's your bible? You got a notebook to I.

Think I lost it?

No, did you?

So we had that big meeting, We had that big meeting at the for lunch where we were kind of in our final meeting, right yeah, and uh before we went over there, I went and I said, I'm gonna put my my, my, my book in the car. So then I forgot lost and had to ride with me to UK because I had to have some meetings at UK and I needed to clear out my seats. We had somewhere to sit not shocking may shock you, hitting would it shock you? That my passenger stuff had too much stuff for anyone to sit in there? So I had to like get all this stuff to put in there. And I think maybe I took that notebook and said it.

On the roof.

And then just drove away.

That's brutal. I mean, that's your.

Is though there ain't a lot in it right now, because I knew I wasn't gonna do it in the next two months. But if I have an appointment schedule with you in August, just assume I will forget because it's not going to be in the book because I don't have it anymore.

So I think I drove.

I think that book is like probably somewhere on Nicholas biel Row between here and the U and the football. So I mean, that's your life, that things attached to your hand in the mornings when we see you.

So you walked in with this notebook today, I thought.

Oh, yeah, it's very it's very upsetting actually, because you know.

I got to ask you this a lot of times. You often put your checks in that note Now.

The checks have all been cash okay, I was. I thought about that checks have all been cashed by then. I don't think there's anything in there except you know, like what I was doing Today's topics fifteen topics. There were there were walking around reading our topics for today, and if you want to call it and tell me what the topics I had written now, because I of course couldn't remember any of them because of that. But that made me sad that yes, because I that has a record those books over the years. I have almost all of them except one. There's one I can't find, like twenty fourteen, but pretty much all of them essentially are a record of the show for like thirteen years, and I have them all.

So I would like to find it.

My hope is that it's in this parking lot and someone they probably just threw it away from being honest.

Do you have your name in it, like a contact number or how they're gonna find.

I mean, it's I just thought, you know, parking lot's right there. If it came out in the parking lot, maybe somebody brought it.

In these places here.

But it's a combably gone to me. The car I looked, I looked everywhere the car.

It is highly possible it's in that car.

The other possibilities lost and stole it.

That's a possibility.

I don't think he did, but otherwise I don't I don't know what else to do. So but I am bow your cause that's like six months that's six months of you know stuff and trivia questions and all kinds of things that are just gone.

But oh well, that's the way it goes. Okay.

So the news, some news this morning, I don't probably not positive, Chaz Lanier. It is now being reported is leaning heavily Tennessee and that maybe Kentucky is out.

That report is from Dave sisk Uh.

And then I think the trillly Donovan discord, which is a phrase that is a funny phrase like that's that's a I mean, but it is. It's been a good source of news for a lot. Are kind of reporting that, which means, if true, he's gonna go to Tennessee, which isn't great, but it also means, Drew, we got to get Jackson Robinson, right, like we wanted one of the two. You knew at one point one of them would choose and then leave one left. Looks like we're gonna have to get Robinson.

Yeah, you know, a little bombed if that's the case the way it goes, But all along, and I've said many times I prefer Jackson Robinson. So if they can still get him, this is all fine. It's just a matter of you don't want to strike out on both of them. If Robinson, I guess he has eight days ish, seven days twenty nine, Yeah, got a week to decide. If a week from now Jackson Robinson is on Kentucky's roster, then this doesn't matter to me whatsoever because he's so I wanted first.

But it's gonna be.

It's gonna be a little uncomfortable till that become until that happens.

Yeah, because I think if they don't get him, it's not like they're not gonna be good, but I think they're gonna be missing a big piece.

And so then you have to say, all right, how do you feel that piece?

You know? Is there somebody in Europe? I don't know, but I think I still feel good about about Jackson Robinson. You know, I want to make just a little This is just a little piece of Matt Jones friendly advice to the people in the recruiting world. Can I do this in a friendly way?

Just do it?

Because I mean this in a friendly way. When I got started, the media at the time really was was like crappy to me and to Drew. Now we fired back, don't get me wrong. We ended up not being they like threw slingshots, and then sometimes we would throw like nuclear wings.

Right. So I'm not trying to play the victim.

But I remember saying when I get to the point, if I ever get to point that I'm like them, I'm not gonna be like that with new people, right, Like I'm gonna welcome them. Yeah, And I've tried to do that as much as possible. You know, one of the kind of young podcast is gonna host while we're gone this summer.

Right.

So but with that said, here's a little piece of old man advice. When Pope came in, it's like a new age now, you know what I mean. And this was the first coaching search we've had in the modern Internet era, right, you know, social media era, So we kind of were experienced something a lot of teams have a lot for the first time. And then you add the transfer portal, we have to rebuild the entire roster, and all of a sudden, there's like a desire for information that hasn't existed really since two thousand and nine.

When Cal Perry got it, was you agree with that because you were I mean recruiting under Cal. It was pretty straightforward.

His plan.

It was very easy.

Either got him or lost to a duke or a Kansas.

He recruited seven guys, he got four or five of them, Rinse and repeat, Right, that's what happened every you this is gonna be a lot more. Well, you know, it's not like Billy Glespie, where dudes just you know, we're in pictures of rose beds and all of a sudden they were committed to hear.

But it's it's different.

But because of that, and I respect this, there's a lot of people that have become like, I'm gonna be the new inside. And I think some of the those people might have information. Some of them might not. But it's hard to tell what is what for a lot of people. But here's what I would say, and I watched this with the Chaslinier thing. If you have one piece of good information Drew, put out that.

Piece, okay, and just let it ride.

But don't feel like you have to put out everything, Like, don't feel like you have to comment on everything.

You don't have to become woes or shams.

Exactly, because that's how you get yourself in trouble. And I've watched this happen for fifteen years, a person gets a good piece of information, people go, oh, this person knows something. They all start following them, and then they feel like the pressure to Okay, well now i'm gonna tell you this is gonna happen, and then they start like guessing. And I think that's what happened with Chasliner. I think a lot of people had just put him at Kentucky, right.

Do you agree with that?

Yes?

I mean I didn't follow this one closely because I've been trying to deal with stuff to get out of here. But it felt like everyone was like, well, he's coming here, and I'm not sure that was ever true. When I touch to somebody this morning, they're like, we don't know why. People always thought we were getting We thought we had a chance. So I think now people's hopes got up. But Drew, I'm not sure Kentucky's in any different position than they thought they were. But our fan base got let down because we're listening to people right now who maybe didn't have anything on this particular thing.

Does that make sense, Yeah, We're all so desperate for that last spot. You have him on campus. He does the downtown trip that's been successful for so many so and then you add in the guys trying to have some scoop online. There was a lot of optimism, but at the same time, there was an interview with Jackson Robinson yesterday before we basically says I talked to Mark Pope every day still, so they called it.

He said, I don't and I don't play for him now or at least not yet.

Yeah, I mean those two.

That was his phrase, I don't play for him now or at least not yet.

Those two know what's going on more than anyone. I'm sure Jackson might not be completely sure of what he's doing, but I think Pope has a good idea and maybe hopefully it's the case that the linear thing came in. They had their conversation. Now the Robinson thing is is still there's still to have a good chance with that moving forward. Like I said, you've got seven days you had him. I'll forget all about Lanear. The only thing that sticks with Laneer is it's Tennessee. So we'll actually see what he becomes if he goes to Arizona or somewhere else. I don't think about that name again.

Ye, he's probably gonna be one of their if not their best scores. So we're going down. We're gonna see it, just like we're gonna see what happens at Arkansas. We're gonna see what happens at Tennessee because we're gonna play it.

So I'm still the point where I'm good.

If Jackson Robinson doesn't go the draft, he goes the draft, then I start.

To go, all right, well, we're gonna have to figure something out, right, Is that where you are?

Yeah?

And I kind of took the whole Lanear news as if he must think Jackson Robinson's coming to Kentucky, And.

That's not how I take it.

That's how I took it.

I feel like, well, I mean you're saying that with confidence?

Is that not?

Oh no, this is just how I took it. Like I saw initial news, Well, just.

You don't usually say it with that kind of confidence.

I just I just felt like he must think that Jackson Robinson's coming to Kentucky. Said he didn't want to be here with.

The real We know what it is.

It was that stupid painted rocks.

We got to get us a rock to paint, but we can't make it be a rock.

We got chain rock.

I don't think they're going to go to Pineville on their recruiting visits. They should, but we got to put something on campus week and paint.

He did post a lot of pictures from his visit. He seemed like that rookie shop that had they had to sign up front.

We didn't have any cookies.

There was a lot of welcome home Chaz that Knoxville's doing.

Mark.

If Mark and said I could have put up a sign, I could have like spelled his name out in chicken wings, you know, giving him cheese long.

I think it's this is more on our chamber of commerce.

We gotta work on. We again, it's a new step, but we gotta work on. I mean, this is imposing him in the construction vest. But like if they've got rocks and cookies, hard to beat, that got got we gotta figure it out. H twenty two eighty seven, we were here at KOs Bar. The Cats play at ten thirty. We'll take a break, Beard backsk Tacky Sports Radio. So this song like this, is there any song Shannon more connected to a commercial than this one.

I'm sure there are, but this is definitely one of them.

This has got to be a picture of that truck driving around the corner by a mountain.

So what are the songs that were actual, like real songs, so not created for the commercial, but like a real song that over time became the commercial.

Because this is like what Ford trucks Chevy. Yeah, clearly one of the other. It was one of them.

But I but I knew when you hear like a rock, You're like, that's the truck commercial. What else is like this?

I know there are a bunch the Sarah McLaughlin dog.

Know What's I will remember you? That one you will thought about?

I think that's the wrong one of an angel.

In the arms of an angel.

That's all of her songs are about someone dying, right, it's in the arms of an angel? Or I were so yes the dog commercial. That's a really good.

Sense a day you can save every dog.

And like you feel bad because I don't even like dogs.

But if you're telling me it's just a dime and I can save a bunch of them, I will. But then who do I give the dime to?

You're at home watch and you're like, I have a dime? Do I just I could save this puppy? I'm mailed a move from this couch, but you never make the move that.

Just mailed them a dime every day and then the dogs will be okay until.

One.

No, we're gonna there's gonna be some good ones called that's a good one?

Seven seven four five two five four? What's a song completely associated with commercial? I also have another question. And by the way, we've now I guess moved.

They've already started the baseball cover, so it's w s FC.

Although if you can't hear this, you wouldn't know to move anyway, so never mind.

Uh, but I tweeted it.

Out if they have the rocks and the cookies at Tennessee, yes, what do we need?

Like? What is our Lexington trip?

I kind of feel like we've gotten in a rut that we always take these guys to Jeff Ruby's, which is very nice, and I'm sure a lot of them like, but you know, rocks and cookies are fun. What what can we do that's the equivalent of rocks and cookies.

We're spoiled with Keenland, but you got to hit those those those the meats. You only get a couple of say, we don't have what I'm saying, that's that's our that's our project.

Get the horses at Keenland to run. And each horse has a word on their silk.

What if they get out of order?

Okay, we're gonna have to work on it, all right, we'll teach you, and so it would go, the horse will go Jackson Robinson come here, okay?

Or we were shaking your head for you. They just point paying them on rock and Jackson.

That's how they come out.

Yeah, the here needs to be there. Okay, the here. If the here doesn't follow the path, that's bad.

Different story.

But we got it.

But see that would be kind of creative, right. You don't like that idea?

No?

I mean we had the cookie cake last year. That was a disaster. There's nowhere to go but up is I like that.

But if it's as simple as they can paint a rock and the dude loves it and he posted on his Instagram, we have to have something like that that's uniquely Kentucky. We have to be able to figure out what that is because we can't lose to people painting rocks.

You know, they've got those horse statues all over town. Maybe they could put one in middle of Triangle Park, the focal point of downtown something.

Let me do Chris care about horses?

I don't know if they care about rocks.

All right, again, we're we're old, Mario. You are your your brother played college basketball, right, Would your brother have liked to have come and seen anything horse related? No, there you go. I think that's that's one of the things we have to remember. Like we were in Kentucky. We love horses, but the other forty nine states.

Are like what, oh, No, nobody cares about rocks, but they paint the rocket and wear rocks everywhere.

But maybe there's horses everywhere. There's not in this state. There are, okay, but we're not recruiting people in this state. We're talking about getting people that go elsewhere. So it's just something to think about what those things would be. There's also a new NBA mock draft out. Yeah, read number three to the Rockets, Dillingham, number four to the Spurs.

This is the Shaker.

Three and four, I mean three and four didn't start lost Oakland, uh twenty nine, Justin Edwards in the first round to the Utah Jazz and then Antonio Reeves undrafted, Jackson Robinson undrafted, so good, I mean Jackson Robinson, I'm gonna be selfish mon to come here. So we wanted to be undrafted Read and rob it's it's still amazing to me. Read could go number three, but that's awesome. Justin Edwards, I get it. I don't understand how Antonio Reeves doesn't get drafted, Like, what am I missing? Seriously? What am I missing on this dude? How is he not an NBA player? He is?

It's just all about his age? But what But I agree that.

What I thought about the age though, is how many dudes in the draft stay with one team long enough that their age ever matters.

Especially a second round guy that might how many?

How many of those dudes? Like, show me that.

How many guys get drafted stay on the same team until they're thirty? It ain't that many, man, And the ones that do, they're superstars. Okay, so after like the tenth pick, you ain't picking a superstar? So how why is he not? Am I crazy?

I mean.

If you made me, if I made you put money on it, who's gonna have a better NBA career?

Antonio Reeves or Justin Edwards? What would you say?

I'm thinking Antonio Reeves because he can shoot. He can be the one thing you know, the NBA's the NBA game right now? He can shoot?

What would you do me too?

Especially?

And I think this will happen. There's gonna be a contender who sees what's in front of them in the second round, they're like, this isn't gonna help us right away. That guy hits open shots and they're gonna take him.

It's gonna be.

Someone wanting to win immediately where you're not worried about his long term potential. You're gonna want someone that can come in and be a lights out shooter right away.

I mean, is there a world where Justin Edwards finds it and his athleticism turns him into a great player.

Yeah, that world exists. I do think that exists.

And could that great player be better than Antonio Reeves? Yeah, I can see that. But I know Antonio Reeves isn't gonna fail. Like he's he can shoot, he's he ah. I mean, I say her, watch these dudes in the playoffs. The league has changed, Like random dudes who can shoot make it and he can do other stuff.

It's not just the three. He's got that floater, he can go at all every level.

Was his Reeves NBA draft status hurt by playing with rob and Reid, that they that these guys were the are the It didn't hurt Robin Reid. They didn't start and they're three and four. It's just like it's it's it is the age thing.

But I just want to look at the people in the NBA and go, I mean, this dude, you're picking forty seventh. He's not gonna be on your team in six years, So why not get a guy that's good?

Yeah?

Why are you picking the dude who was the seventh leading scorer at Colorado?

Would you take Brownie James.

Or into No, I mean leave aside getting his dad.

Yeah, no way.

We're talking age. He's only like what twenty three? Yeah.

They also like like he's ninety.

I mean he's twenty three years old eight five nine, twenty two eighty seven.

To take a right, take a calls KSR.

TJ.

Smith, personal injury attorney, called TJ.

He'll make them pay Now.

More of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.

Here's Matt Jones.

I hate this song so much.

Just a good one though, that was out before the Applebe's commercial.

Yea, but like.

This is a song that you created to get the commercial, right, Like he wrote this song saying I'm gonna get an Applebee's.

Commercial, right.

I mean, I don't know. Alan Jackson did the same thing. I know it was out first, That's what I'm saying. He created this song and probably thought, if it gets a hit, Applebee's will make me in the commerc gotcha, right, Same thing with Alan Jackson. Crazy is about a mercury going to craze about him and then next thing you know, he got it. He got a deal from it.

Crystal sentence to one. Heard it through the grape vine. That's a great one for California.

R heard it through the grape vine of a certain age. Everyone thinks of that as the California That's a really, really good call.

That may be as good as any.

Yeah, I was racking my brain during the break. I feel like I'm still on my victory left from Sarah mclopin.

That really was good. The Tigers hit a home run on the second LSU hit a home run on the second pitch of the game, so they're down one nothing. The good thing about college baseball is it ain't even closed over.

I have my computer in front of me, and Kentucky Baseball tweeted, Travis Smith takes the bump and we're underway. As I looked up and the ball was going over the wall on TV. So I mean, right as the game started, it's one open.

He's the kid from Walton, Verona. Travis Smith.

Yeah, well there'll be there'll be plenty of time. It feels like every game they play in is thirteen to nine it is, so hopefully there'll still be uh, there'll still be time if I'm nine two to eight, oh twenty two eighty seven.

Who's up first, Let's go to Kevin.

Kevin, go ahead, Kevin.

Hey, guys, thanks for taking my call. Just calling in, just calling in today with a neat story about Mark Pope. I was a senior at UK and actually had already finished up, so we were just playing pick up basketball and Memorial Coliseum and Jeff Shepherd, you know, was like I don't know ten of us, right, And Jeff Shepherd and Mark Pope walk in and they want to play, and of course, me being a senior, I was still starstruck. Even though Pope was I believe a sophomore or junior, I can't remember. But anyway, he proceeded to walk around and introduce himself to all his team that you know that he joined, and then the opposing team and said nice to meet you know. Whoever he was talking to and introducing himself to, he said, nice.

To meet you.

And I was just blown away by that.

Yeah, he's always been a super nice guy like that. That was many, many years ago. The big big question is did you score on him? Hell?

No, I didn't know.

I appreciate the call. Did you ever uk Drew play with any of the UK players in any pickup games? I feel like some.

Football players would come over to the Seaton Center. I don't remember any of the current bat You know, I was there for the end of Tub the begin of Billy. They might not be able to get on the court, not the beginning of Billy, all of Billy. So what really My years at UK weren't the years to have basketball sightings. We were more into the rich Brooks Music City Bowl era.

Yeah, I was that.

I was at Trancy during that period where they would come over there and practice. Yes, that's right, And I never played, but I sat and watched UK players play against Trancy players in that ninety nine two thousand era because they they would come like during the late summer and play pick up against them, and the UK team was better, but by a lot. I mean, like that Transy team at Trancity team would be competitive with them in those in those games.

And because that Transit team was really really.

Good, that's the best argument you can say how good that Trancy era was when they were legit competitive with them.

Well, they would bring It.

Was like the group of like Desmond Allison, uh Bogans, Saul some of those guys like that was who was the group there? And they would come and then trans you would have call your Meals and Eric Lecky and Yen and Anthony Stateton and they'd play. And the Kentucky guys were better. But like I remember, it would worry me that they weren't that much better Trancy. I mean there were many games where call your Mills was the best player on the court. Yes, I mean if Keith Bogans and Tayshaun Prince weren't there, Collier was the best player on the court.

We said, call your Mills would have made the Denver Nuggets if he didn't break his leg like the last week of tryouts, he was going to make the roster.

Yeah, so that would have been amazing if Trancey had a dude the NBA during that, Shannon, did you see that our Krispy Kreme on Bartstown Road caught on fire yesterday?

Man?

That made me sad. I love Krispy Kreme.

I you know, if I was going down maybe into the Highlands, I would stop by there every now and then and get some hot donuts.

There were always people there. Yeah, it's like a free standing Krispy Kream. You don't see that very much. And it caught fire. I don't know if they'll open or not. It's right next to the El Nepal that I always really would always go to. I was sad to.

See a follow up, but looking at the photos as it was on fire, that looked like a yeah, well it might be down for a while.

I made this be totally wrong, But the news story I heard this morning, I thought it was like they were suspecting somebody through like a mala cocktail cocktail? What what Molotov cocktail.

Or a mala cock tovetail?

Yeah?

Is that is that you're always throwing those mala cock talk tovtails round?

Is that they said aggressive for a donut place in the daylight.

You're saying a guy through a molotov could suspect to the Krispy Kreme in the morning.

I think it's Tuesday. I think that suspected.

Why would they do that?

It does say there's a suspecting custody. I don't see anything about them. Mock to tell cockta whatever you said.

But why would you It was like Tuesday at ten am. I don't know who's that mad?

Yeah?

Charged with arson?

Really?

Yeah?

What's a happier place than Krispy Kreme?

Didn't get his order?

Right?

Stuff he's ordered. But if you were like wanting to do an arson to like really like get away with it, you do it in like the middle of the night, right, you don't do it at ten o'clock in the morning.

A good point.

I don't think this person cared if they got away with it or not.

That you think they just got bad ground all. Seriously, you think they just got mad like you did it the dairy queen and just you know, chuck the malotov cocktail into the.

Don't think there's a chance that could have happened you go through the drive through the order?

Was it right?

He got into an argument with the purpose of to drive through. I'll show you.

How does that make you feel bad for how you treated the dairy queen person?

No, I think the dairy queen person had that coming that day.

They didn't burn it to the ground or anything.

Suld get a round of applause for that way. Did not burn it to the ground. Who's neck?

Joe? Joe?

Go ahead?

Joe back?

Then Tonio Reeves shot fifty or better in twenty college games and he's a borderline first round pick. Is absolutely baffling to me. Guy's a stud.

He'll get in the NBA.

Not a ton but eight to ten.

Yeah.

I don't get it. I really don't. I mean I I don't get it. He's not I mean, I don't think he's in. I don't think I would put him. You know, I could see not picking him in the first round.

But I don't get it. I appreciate the call. I really don't.

I got a commercial.

I got a commercial, If you got one.

What's that.

It's been a while, but they used to not being able to watch a sports competition without seeing that Traveler's commercial with the dog worried about his bone. The song Trouble by ray La Montaigne, I think his name.

They ran that every day for I don't know.

The song or the commercial, so I appreciate the call. I'm sorry that doesn't it doesn't help me. Who did the I've been everywhere man commercial that I've heard they do, But what is it? Obviously I wasn't paying close enough attention.

Yeah, I don't remember.

I thought one of you would have it.

I'm still disappointed about the Krispy Kree.

So you're saying, Shannon, no, we have no we have ads, they just not send them to you.

No, we don't have them today. We're not running ads.

Oh because of the Yay games.

Oh good, all rights?

We have do any ads?

Nice?

I like it?

All right, we will take a break and be right back. No ad to day on Wednesday. This is Kentucky sports Radio work a back Tucky Sports Radio. Here wingsday, cass Bark Cats are down one nothing batting in the bottom of the first in the SEC tournament. So this is from a source on the text machine about Krispy Kree. Okay, again, we take all sources on the text machine machine with a grain of salt. But this person says they have inside krispy Kreme knowledge on this thing.

Oh, let's hear it.

The pert rhyme was right. The man went inside, got mad, tried to light a menu on fire, didn't work. Then he walked outside, set the menu on fire, tried to throw it through the drive through window, couldn't go through, so he put it on the roof and when it hit the roof, it set the building a blaze.

Good grief, what over donuts?

First, I didn't know krispy Kree had menus like you could, like a printed menu that you could set. How mad do you have to be to take three shots at you have time to think about it, and you know, from a legal perspective, each one of them he did is further proof he did it intentionally, because he's gonna get up there and act it like, well, I didn't mean to set the building on fire.

Yes you did, but the fact that you.

Did it multiple times and kept doing it will be used by the prosecution to show an intent to burn the building down. So like, if that story is true, it is only going to make Actually, he would be better off gavin it happened the first time, you know what I mean, because he could have gone, well I did. I just wanted to scare him. I wasn't trying to set the building on fire. Well now you clearly were trying to set the building up so that dude's gonna go to prison.

Think about that.

He just got angry at the Crispy Kreme and he's gonna end up going to prison for a decent amount of time.

Imagine being the guy in prison. What are you going for? I tried to burn down the christ because the hot light wasn't on. I mean, that's tough for you gonna be in there. But Chris took three tries trying to like, did you do it? Did you do it for insurance? No, they're out of glazed.

I did it because they so there you go.

You gotta think there may be some other issues going on there.

And oh yeah, although give Ron twenty more minutes that dairy queen.

I don't know, maybe.

A full blaze, but I think we were on our way to some some fisticuffs or something.

I I didn't get mean.

I was just both the nicest, both the nicest and the meanest person on KSR are both right. He is the nicest and he is also the meanest. And that is just the way.

It's what, it's what you have to be with him. So who's up next?

Retired ref Go ahead.

Matt, this is a call honoring Harvey.

Of course, yes, and and it's for Ryan.

Uh.

And the question is Ryan, do you still have those dreams?

What's the rest of the question. No, he's still there dreams about what.

You were talking about, having the dreams in the house and the.

Driving me. I guess the what he's talking about.

Okay, do you do you?

Yeah?

Do you still have dreams about cal Perry? Now?

A month and a half later.

I didn't know we were going to talk about this. I'll just tell you one thing. It just happened. Two nights ago. I had a dream about two girls that I grew up going. No, this is not like that.

Don't listen. I don't need your two girls dreams. Okay, that's a very different show. I'm not that. I don't I don't need I don't.

It's nothing like that.

I don't need that. We go ahead.

And then yesterday, the day after I had the dream, my mom sends me a picture of herself with one of those two girls that were that I just how's that happened? I haven't seen that girl in forty years? And my mom ran into her and took a picture of her and sent it to me, said do you know who this is? I'm like, I just had a dream about that girl last night. How's that?

I don't understand your minds? Why are you telling us? Well?

He used came up about the dream that it's really been bothering me. I mean that's kind of weird.

Okay, but you you had a dream about just way up with Okay, so just and what was the dream?

Just?

I just kind of just run into him, said, hey, how you doing?

And so then your mom ran into him the next day. Yes, so you think there's some sort of thing cosmic force? Yes, I believe. So, Okay, that's stupid, But if you want to think that, that's fine.

I mean, if you want to do. Oh.

By the way, I had a person write me. See I got to catch myself. They said, Matt, I listened to your show with my four year old and I noticed recently she's been saying the word stupid a lot, and I told her she had to stop saying the word stupid, and she goes, but Matt that you listen to on the radio says it all the time, and she said, and he said. I looked at her and said, no, I didn't know he does it. And then yesterday he said, I said stupid three times and then I just said it right there. So I'm going to for that four year old try to stop saying the words stupid.

Well, you're leaving for two months, so that'll help the four year old.

That's gonna help. We'll try to keep it down. As long as you all don't do it, we should be Okay, who's next, David?

David?

If I'm nine two eighty seven, go ahead. Hey, mag Good morning, how y'all doing doing good?

Cool?

Hey?

You were mentioned earlier that we needed to find an attraction that recruits. Do you think a new state of the art practice facility will fill them that gap?

Possibly?

But I mean, honestly, all these the practice facility here, here's my view on the practice facility. The lodge needs to be improved. You agree with that the lodge needs to be improved. The practice facility isn't quite as nice as some, but it ain't terrible at all, Like I think the practice facility stuff is a little overrated. Would it be nice to get one?

Yeah?

Do we probably need one in the next ten years?

Yeah?

Probably. But I think if I were investing money in UK basketball, the first thing I would do is something with that door.

Would you agree with that?

The door?

And before the practicability practice deility has already had a lot of stuff done to it inside too, just cosmetically. That's helped keep it up with the times.

It goes back to Trey Young when he was here and they said it was outdated. Then how many years ago was that?

It was a long time ago. I mean the practice facility.

When you get down to where the practice floor is, it's awesome.

Yeah.

I think everybody's issue is from the outside, the building looks old and kind of whatever, Whereas if you go to like Louisville's building or if you go to Kansas's building, it looks like UK football practice, like you kiss football practice facility from the outside looks like a really impressive building, and then you go inside. I just took Loss in there Monday, and you see like all the various stuff and they have all this interactive stuff and it's really really cool. The basketball facility isn't like that. But when you get in the elevator and you go to the actual facility, it's as nice as anybody's. But I think the problem is from the outside it doesn't have that look.

Would you agree with that?

You don't have to get too crazy with it, because it's pretty unique. Where the guys are sleeping just across the parking lot and come over and ice scan in. They're on a practice court. It's nicely designed with the coaches overlooking it. We've seen some people come in and talk about how awesome it is. I just think some of the new bells and whistles that the newer places have, you may work those in. I haven't seen completely behind doors.

I mean I've always thought that. Okay, so let's just say you're a regular fan. I don't it's not always unlocked, but the football practice facility, the front door is often unlocked where you can walk in the lobby. Yeah, okay, so if you walk in that lobby, if you were to go there today and you were to walk in that lobby, it's a cool display. It's all the trophies that Kentucky has ever won major football trophies and they're on display. There is a wall with all the all Americans that Kentucky has had play football. Max Duffy just recently got added to the wall and that's really cool. And then there's like this interactive display that I did with Lawson where you like, you can create yourself as a UK football player. You can create the uniform, the number, the helmet, you know your skin tone, you can create everything, and you can create what you would look like as a UK football player. That's kind of cool. Basketball has nothing like that. One of those shames right now of UK basketball is an average fan there's nothing for him to go see. Like if you're in town from Georgia and you're a UK fan and you want to see something UK basketball, there's nothing to go se you can walk into the more way you can't right now because of the construction. You can walk into that little lobby and there's like a couple of trophies and there's pictures of all the teams. But we should have something more than that, Ryan, don't you think.

Yeah, before the construction, all you had, like you said, was just that hallway you could walk in. There's just a mural there of players. Mean, that was it.

Really. The only cool thing is they have a picture up of every team and I always enjoyed going back and looking at the team photos of every team and going, oh, there's that person or that person.

But that's really all they had.

Even over the Kentucky prow Park the baseball they've got a neat little foyer that if you go in, it's kind of got some neat things.

Well, the baseball stadium has a really cool thing in it which has been there since it opened. That each pillar is a county in Kentucky and it lists all the players from that county that have played at UK Baseball.

Yep, that's cool.

That's very cool.

Basketball needs something like that, Drew because we just don't really have it, and with such tradition we should and really you.

Get on a bigger scale, there's really no place to see any of the history of UK and just a lobby. I've been to Kansas, most of it is in the Heavy Hitters Garage. I've been to the Fog three times and they have a museum like attached to it that's there. It's open, you know, like eight to five every day where you go in and if there's anything Kansas Basketball you're gonna see it, and it's just open to the public.

I do hear a lot of people that UK Basketball Museum that used to be downtown.

But that should have ended up being on campus.

It should absolutely, it probably should have been on campus, just because especially at that time, not many people would go downtown. Now that's changed. Now downtown's a lot more upbeat than it used to be. But and the problem is that museum. A lot of that stuff got given away, Like a lot of that stuff is gone, which is a shame. But the UK Museum when it closed down, they just gave a lot of it away. Wow, which is kind of insane to me actually, But there are fans that just have big chunks of that museum and like so it'll never be able to be put back together.

We're the greatest tradition in college basketball, but our tradition seems to be scattered.

But a lot of our tradition is sitting in people's garages, right.

Be nice to have it all in one place, warehouse.

I mean, I don't know Oscar, but like like I said, there are some people who have a lot of the merchandise are the stuff themselves?

All right, We'll take a break here at cass Bar.

It's Wednesday. Come say hello to take you. Sports Radio
