Often times we recognize these eateries as a whole, but one special lady would like to highlight the very special workers behind the scenes.

Chef and Founder of the Latino Culinary Institute and Association, Lydia Gonzalez joined us on the KRLD Afternoon News.

She has created The Chispa Awards, a new initiative aimed at recognizing the staff that powers the Restaurant Industry in North Texas.

Restaurant owners interested in participating can visit the Chispa Awards page to download a promotional flyer with a QR code at www.LatinoCulinary.org.

Ten Houston massage parlors shut down suspected of human trafficking

The death toll in Monday's Israeli strike on Lebanon has grown to more than 490 people, according to Lebanese authorities. The attack is part of Israel's attempt to move Hezbollah away from the Lebanon-Israel border, and it comes less than a week after an attack on communication devices killed dozens in Lebanon. It raises a lot of questions about whether this is an all-out war, and if not -- where does it end? CBS News military analyst Jeff McCausland joined KRLD on Tuesday.
