A very special joint community discussion on “The Civil Rights Movement in Dallas” is coming up Saturday at 1 at African American Museum Dallas.
Ernest McMillan, native of Dallas and former chairman of the Dallas Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee will be one of the speakers.
It's part of a series of discussions in December and January - in conjunction with the exhibit "Solidarity Now! 1968 Poor People’s Campaign," currently on view at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza.
The other discussions will be “The Legacy of the 1968 Kerner Commission Report” on Saturday, December 10, and a community book discussion featuring Dr. Rolundus Rice, author of "Hosea Williams: A Lifetime of Defiance and Protest" on Saturday, January 14. Both discussions will be at African American Museum, Dallas at 1 p.m.
