Hot, dry weekend before rain chances return early next week

Our App today is called Heard That. When you're in a crowded room with a lot of other people, it can be tough to hear a conversation that you're a part of. This app can help cut through all the clutter and the din of that noise-filled environment. The app uses the microphone in your smartphone to amplify the talk you want to hear. You just put in your headphones or earbuds and point the top of the phone toward the person you're trying to hear. It will focus only on that, and take out the other extraneous noises. It can also help people with hearing aids listen to a conversation more closely as well. Now, the app doesn't replace hearing aids, it's more of a help to them. Heard That is a free app on iTunes and Android. It has a subscription model.

Today, we recognize the 6th of June, 1944.

80 years ago today, American troops landed on the beaches of Normandy, France for the D-Day invasion. It changed the course of World War II.

On Thursday, they held what might end up as the last commemoration of the survivors of the Normandy invasion. 

One of the continued commemorations takes place Friday afternoon in France. 
Nine members of Congress will parachute into France as a rememberance of the military men that parachuted onto the beaches. 

One of those Congressmembers is Keith Self from the third district right here in north Texas and he joined us on the KRLD Newsline from France.
