A Royse City 16-year-old has been arrested after police say he killed his friend while messing around with a gun.

Police say at first they were told 18-year-old Alexander Villegas accidentally shot himself in the stomach and that he died from his injuries.

Royse City 16-year-old arrested after police say he killed his friend messing around with a gun

DeSoto Police have released body camera video showing the events leading up to an officer-involved shooting Sunday morning. They were called about 4 a.m. on reports of a "group of people wandering in the 1100 block of Greenbriar drive and knocking on residents' doors asking for assistance."

The Dallas Cowboys kick off the new season this Sunday with a trip to Cleveland, and fans here are wondering if the team can make the next step. KRLD's Alan Scaia talked with some at A-T-and-T Stadium. The Cowboys have won 12 games each of the past three years but lost to Green Bay in the first round last year. One fan here in Arlington says he's expecting more from Dak Prescott this year.

Another fan questioned, since Prescott's now 30 years old, if he can join the elite quarterbacks like Troy Aikman or Roger Staubach.

The Cowboys open on the road in Cleveland, Sunday before coming home to face the Saints in week two.
