On Wednesday, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) adopted a rule change that clears the way for trained pharmacists to test customers for the coronavirus.
The National Association of Chain Drug Stores represents more than 155,000 pharmacies and some 40,000 drug stores nationwide. NACDS President/CEO Steve Anderson told KRLD News the action by the Trump administration is a "game-changer."
Once the proper training is completed, Anderson said Americans should find much greater access to COVID-19 testing, especially in more sparsely-populated areas, where residents depend heavily on their local pharmacies.
