The City of Dallas held a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday to mark the start of construction on an expansion of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. The center first opened in 1957. In 2022, voters approved an increase to the city's hotel occupancy tax to pay for the project, which is expected to cost $3.7 billion.
