Barbie isn't the only reason Dallas is drowning in pink. Here's KRLD's Susan Darwin.

It's a summertime thing here in Dallas...the annual Mary Kay Seminar Conference. About 20,000 beauty consultants from around the world have descended on the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center to celebrate 60 years of beauty.

MaryKay is a global cosmetics company founded by North Texas native, Mary Kay Ash in September of 1963.

The summer Seminar brings a ton of money into North Texas. Visit Dallas estimates this year's convention will bring in more than 34 million dollars, and that includes close to $800,000 dollars in local tax revenue.

The convention runs thru August 6th.
