Why the Forest Service is Struggling to Retain California Staff

California Forever's ambitious plan to build a brand new city in the Bay Area has been on hold since the company pulled its plan from the ballot last year. It's promised to bring it back to voters in 2026.  Earlier this year, the company started talking with cities, and that's raising some questions for locals.  Elected officials in two Solano County cities have expressed interest in annexing some of California Forever's land - meaning they could control some of it and incorporate it into their own cities. But since these talks have started, residents in Rio Vista and Suisun City have raised questions about how long this would take and whether it would impact their ability to vote on the company's future plans.
