This week nearly a dozen Walgreens stores are set to close across San Francisco. It’s the latest, and largest, wave of closures the city has seen since the company announced last year its plans to close 12-hundred stores nationwide as a cost cutting measure. Now, thousands of San Franciscans, many of whom are low-income or seniors, will have to travel much further, maybe even hop on a bus, to pick up their prescriptions. And to discuss the impacts of that closure, we’re joined by the neighborhood’s representative on the Board of Supervisors, Connie Chan.
