April is a time of new beginnings. It also marks Second Chance Month, which puts a spotlight on the experiences of formerly incarcerated people and the stigma they face for having a criminal record. An effort to help erase that stigma is underway at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. A UCSF doctor working there runs a tattoo removal clinic that aims to give people who’ve faced hardship a new start.
