Ask outsiders what San Francisco is known for and many would point to our large LGBTQ community. Indeed, the city has long tried to offer sexuality safe havens — including for women who love women. Bars and nightclubs have always been key in that regard. Unfortunately, many storied lesbian bars just didn't stand the test of time.
