San Francisco’s Embarcadero is also a sea wall, protecting residents from floodwaters. The city’s port is in the middle of a plan to rebuild a massive portion of it because of sea level rise. KQED’s Ezra David Romero met scientists near the Ferry Building who are experimenting with how to make the city’s next sea wall crawl with ocean life.
