Rebel Girls: The Oakland Poet Who Brought Lesbian Feminism to the Fore

Oakland poet Pat Parker wrote and released five groundbreaking poetry collections throughout the '70s and '80s. Parker's passion for poetry was rivaled only by her activism. And it wasn't unusual for the two to intersect. She formed the Black Women's Revolutionary Council in 1980 and also worked with the United Nations on the status of women in the world.
