Proposition 50 Would Shift Antioch, Pittsburg to Aid Democrats in Congress

View descriptionShare

The November special election is underway … and California voters are weighing in on a statewide ballot measure … Proposition 50. If approved, it would redraw the state’s congressional district maps to help Democrats win more House seats in next year’s midterms. Supporters say the move is necessary to balance out new maps in states like Texas and Missouri that favor Republicans. But as KQED politics correspondent Guy Marzorati reports, the proposed lines in Proposition 50 could bring major changes for how one corner of the Bay Area is represented in Congress.
