Pajaro Residents Nervous to Return to Flood Risk, But Priced Out of Other Options

Flood officials in Monterey Country are constructing a new levee near the town of Pajaro, and broke ground on it this week. A year and a half ago, a levee along the river crumbled during back-to-back storms, flooding nearly 300 homes.  KQED’s Ezra David Romero brings us the story of one family whose house was destroyed. They fled, swearing never to return, but were forced to because of California’s high rents.
