Oakland Rapper Draws on Family's Experience After Hurricane Katrina for His Art

Today marks 20 years since Hurricane Katrina made landfall in Louisiana. The storm of a century devastated New Orleans and displaced over 160-thousand people some of whom migrated to other parts of the country like here in the Bay Area.

Oakland rapper POO$IE drew on his family’s experience evacuating New Orleans … channeling it into his ART. He reflected on the aftermath of Katrina with KQED’s Pendarvis Harshaw.
