Mario, Luigi, Zelda and Donkey Kong are coming to San Francisco’s Union Square today. A new Nintendo store - only the second in the U.S - will open its doors in a long-vacant, sprawling space on Powell and Geary streets. The store’s opening is welcome news for what was once considered the city’s premier shopping district… but has struggled to retain stores in the pandemic’s aftermath.
