Some critical services like fighting wildfires continue despite the government shutdown. But the U.S. Forest Service has said it will reduce work related to fire prevention like prescribed burns and vegetation management, which have become part of California's response efforts. And as fire season continues, there's a party of sorts in Marin County that attracts thousands of people who are interested in learning more about what they can do to prepare for wildfires. KQED's Danielle Venton went to the Ember Stomp and she brings us this report.
