Advocates Urge Governor Newsom for Pardons to Prevent Deportations Before Trump Administration Takes Office

The legal avenues that California is prepared to take against a second Trump presidency are on the minds of many Democratic elected leaders - like North Bay Congressman Jared Huffman. He heads the Democrats’ task force against Project 2025. That’s the transition plan for the next Republican president. It calls for an overhaul of the federal government to promote a conservative agenda. President-elect Trump has distanced himself from that plan, but Huffman and other Democratic critics have pointed out that its proposed changes DO align with some of Trump’s campaign promises.
