Around a THIRD of unhoused people in the United States live here in California. The state has been battling the homelessness crisis for years … as the construction of new housing has come up against funding and political challenges.  So can CHANGE come from the people most affected?  That’s at the heart of the KQED Snap Studios’ podcast “A Tiny Plot.” Producer Shaina Shealy learned about Union Point Park on the water's edge in OAKLAND … where a group of unhoused people banded together to resist city eviction orders.

The race for governor is starting to take shape … after Attorney General Rob Bonta and Los Angeles developer Rick Caruso announced last week that they will NOT join the field.


That still leaves 10 candidates on the ballot in the race.


With less than six months for the primary election for Governor, KQED politics correspondent Guy Marzorati reports … one important constituency has yet to agree on a candidate: organized labor.
