Among the issues that today’s May Day rallies here in the Bay Area aim to tackle are workers rights and A.I. One study has shown that roughly half of Americans worry that A.I. will replace their jobs. Some California unions have been fighting back in an effort to create guardrails. But for some labor experts, the GROWTH of this technology could actually be a BOOST for the labor movement. I talked about this with Lisa Kresge. She’s a senior researcher with the Technology and Work Program at the UC Berkeley Labor Center. She started by telling me about how A.I. is showing up in the workplace.
