Artist Highlights Dates of Significance in the Quest for Civil Rights

View descriptionShare

One historic date coming up a lot these days is January 22nd, 1973 - when the Supreme Court first decided on Roe v. Wade. This same date is referenced in a social justice project by Bay Area visual artist Angie Eng - it’s called “Right On!” and it’s made up of 12 by 12 painted plaques. On each one is the date of a landmark civil rights case or moment in American history.
