Heavy Metals Found in Fire Retardant From Palisades, Eaton, and Franklin Fires

Just a few short hours after the Palisades fire sparked, planes joined the fire fight and started dropping bright red fire retardant on hillsides and homes. It's a site we've grown accustomed to in California. LAist science reporter Jacob Margolis wanted to know about the safety of that fire retardant. So he spent the last several months working with researchers to figure out what's in it and whether there's anything to worry about.
