Federal funding cuts are exacerbating the economic sting felt by arts organizations in the Bay Area. Many of these groups relied on grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. Nearly every Bay Area recipient had this funding canceled last month. That’s also had an impact on some programs associated with DEI, a sector that’s already been on the decline among arts and culture groups in recent years. KQED’s Shannon Faulise looked into this.
