FCI Dublin Staff Bought Homes On-Site. Then the Prison Shut Down

Last year, the East Bay federal women’s prison, FCI Dublin, shut down after years of sexual misconduct scandals. But dozens of employees who worked there – teachers, maintenance staff, correctional officers and others – remained. That was, until this month when employees received layoff notices, and workers living in on-site housing were told they’re being evicted. KQED’s Alex Hall reports.
