California’s Mojave Desert has endless sunshine. Solar developers see it as a source for growing the state’s renewable energy supply. And that will come in handy as the state looks to meet ambitious clean-energy goals. Building out solar energy infrastructure in the desert, however, could come at the expense of a Mojave Desert icon – the Joshua Tree. That’s what locals fear is happening in the historic town of Boron. KVPR’s Joshua Yeager takes us there.
