Autonomous taxi company cruise is halting driverless operations nationwide. Earlier this week, the Department of Motor Vehicles and California's Public Utilities Commission suspended permits for the company to carry passengers. That was because of a collision in downtown San Francisco earlier this month when a driverless cruise vehicle struck and dragged a pedestrian.
