Ballots for California’s June primary are set to go out on May 4th. In the Bay area, a big local election is for Mayor of Richmond. Looming over this race is a controversy involving the city’s current mayor, Eduardo Martinez. He's running for re-election.

Earlier this year, he faced heavy criticism for reposting conspiracy theories  in response to the deadly shooting at Bondi Beach in Australia last December. For more, we’re joined by Joel Umanzor, a reporter for Richmondside, a nonprofit news organization focused on coverage of the city.
