The new school year is in full swing across the Bay Area. Thousands of the youngest kids are experiencing the state’s newest grade. It’s called T-K, transitional kindergarten. The state wants to make T-K available to every 4-year-old by this time next year. But California has a long way to go to improve access. KQED's Blanca Torres reports.
