The wildfires that destroyed parts of Los Angeles are prompting fire-prone communities across the state to take preventative action … like in BERKELEY. Last week, the Berkeley City Council approved a proposal that would establish new LANDSCAPING rules. They would take effect next year … requiring around 9-hundred homes around Tilden Park to fire-proof their perimeters … essentially, get rid of nearly all vegetation and anything else that could catch fire ... within the first five feet of the home.  I stopped by the Berkeley Hills … to talk more about this proposal with Colin Arnold of Berkeley Fire.
