This week marks 50 years since the fall of Saigon, which effectively ended the Vietnam War. As refugees settled in the US, they found ways to celebrate their culture here. That led to the creation of a beloved TV show. It’s called Paris by Night - a variety show featuring many kinds of performances, including pop singers, back-up dancers and comedians. For years, the show’s been produced in Southern California … and remains a cultural touchstone for the Vietnamese Diaspora. KQED’s Darren Tu wrote about it for our site.
