The aftermath of climate disasters often intersects with politics - and how government officials should respond. That’s been playing out in Texas this week, following the catastrophic flooding that killed at least 119 people - as well as after major wildfires here in California. For years, climate change has been a key issue for California’s Legislature - but in the face of political pressures from Washington, state lawmakers, especially Democrats, are pulling back their support for climate-related policies.
