It’s been almost a year since the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that essentially gave cities and counties the OK to get rid of homeless encampments. Since then, local governments in the Bay Area and across the state have been trying to crack down on street homelessness … and caught in the middle are housing organizations ... like Abode Services. It was founded as a shelter in Fremont in the nineties and has become a prominent housing provider for the region. Louis Chicoine served as Abode's CEO for more than 30 years. He retired earlier this month and he joins us.
