LAUSD and the union representing the District's service workers are now on the clock to avert a potential three-day strike that's called for next Tuesday.

While one would think the two sides would be negotiating nonstop to hammer out a new labor contract, apparently they haven't been talking at all over the last few days.

The SEIU, representing LAUSD cafeteria workers, custodians, plant managers and more, has been demanding arbitration and the involvement of state labor officials in the negotiations.
