If you're older, you might remember your parents telling you watching too much television would rot your brain. Fast-forward--most of our brains haven't completely rotted away. Now parents today are telling kids too much time on the computer or smart phones is bad for you.
They could be right though. A new study finds frequently checking social media platforms may lead to long-term changes in adolescent brain development. Here to explain is study co-author Maria Maza. She's a doctoral student in psychology at the University of North Carolina.
