The outbreak of pro-Palestinian protests on campuses ... gave student journalists across the country an unrivaled education in covering intense breaking news.

Photo-journalists at several student newspapers teamed up to share the images they've captured over the last month in a provocative photo essay.  

Those images include ones taken by Jordan Renville and Henry Kofman, the editor and deputy editor of USC's "Daily Trojan."

They both talked to us about their experiences covering the protests ... 

Jordan says appreciated the responsibility that came with covering these events.

Henry described the day that the first pro-Palestinian encampment sprung up at USC ... and how he balances his journalism job with being a student.

Jordan talked about his experience covering the clash between protesters and police trying to clear out the camp.

Henry says something good came out of a tough situation for these student journalists.
