Some people have taken to social media to criticize Queen Elizabeth over colonialism and the negative impacts British rule had over people of color in its empire over the centuries.  

It was during her reign though that the UK basically dismantled much of its empire. So are the criticisms valid? With us is David Sheridan, history professor at Long Beach State and an expert in 20th century British history.
