The American economy continues to be one of the strongest in the world.  The stock market is booming, the unemployment rate is at a near 50-year low and GDP has been steadily growing.

But there's a huge contingent of Americans who either don't know about those economic facts ... or they don't care.

KNX chief correspondent Charles Feldman put those questions to Diane Swonk, she's the chief economist for KPMG:

The vast majority of respondents in this Guardian poll ... 72% ... indicated they think inflation is increasing. And yet, in reality, the rate of inflation has fallen sharply from its post-Covid peak.
