And when it comes to big storms hitting the state ... we either get a crippling, record drought that's rapidly drying up our reservoirs and rivers.

Or we are subjected to the atmospheric river storms, which are becoming more common during our winters.  Now imagine an atmospheric river that parks itself over California for days at a time, funneling in more moisture than the atmosphere can handle.

That is a very real possibility, according to new research coming out of UCLA.  Even in this time of sustained drought, California is very vulnerable to a train of storms that could create a "megaflood" in the state .... with entire cities under water, thousands dead and billions of dollars worth of infrastructure washed away.
