If New York City can force homeless people into treatment, should LA do the same?

View descriptionShare

KNX In Depth's Charles Feldman and Rob Archer discuss how New York City has a policy that allows homeless people to be forced into hospitals for mental health treatment. There's been some success too in helping them find housing afterward. With us is Sarah Hunter, Director of the RAND Center on Housing and Homelessness in Los Angeles. And Alex Barnard, a sociologist at New York University. He has a book coming out soon called Conservatorship: Inside California's System of Coercion and Care for Mental Illness.
