Governor Newsom vetoes mandatory kindergarten bill

Governor Newsom vetoed a bill that would have made kindergarten mandatory in the state. The governor said in his veto message it would cost the state up to 268 million dollars each year. This as California has a big budget surplus. Patricia Lozano is the executive director of Early Edge California which works on expanding early learning programs for young children.
