The California Air Resources Board has voted to move ahead with plans to ban the sale of gas-powered cars in California by 2035. If the state follows through, big changes will be needed to meet the increased demand for electricity. 

The state is the largest auto market in the country. Car companies would need to adjust but what about other states? Will they go along with this?
