Artificial intelligence is faster and more accurate in predicting weather than human meteorologists

Today seems like an especially fitting day to discuss artificial intelligence and weather forecasting.

So let's take the series of storms coming into Southern California this week as an example:  the forecast has changed a lot over the last few days about how much and when it was going to rain.

But new research out suggests that AI-machines are far more accurate ... and quicker ... in forecasting the weather.

Google's AI-powered weather modeling just blew human meteorologists and old government weather models out of the water....

Aaron Hill is a professor of meteorology at the University of Oklahoma ... who has been studying machine learning and weather forecasting.
