T‑Mobile is forcing many customers off older grandfathered plans and onto newer 5G-era plans beginning in July 2026. Many affected subscribers will see price increases—often up to $6 per line per month—while gaining newer plan features and a 5‑year price guarantee. The controversy stems from T‑Mobile's past promises that made customers believe their grandfathered plans would remain largely untouched.
